in this eltion, many other fundamental freedoms are at stake. the freedom to live safe from gun violence in our schools, communities and places of worship, the freedom to love who you love openly and with pride. and let me be clear, after decades in law enforcement, i know the importance of safety and security, especially at our border. last year joe and i brought together democrats and conservative republicans to right the strongest border bill in decades. the border patrol endorsed it but donald trump believes a border deal would hurt his campaign. so he ordered his allies in congress to kill the deal. i refuse to play politics with our security and here's my pledge to you. as president i will bring back the bipartisan border security bill that he killed and i will sign it into law. i know we can live up to our proud heritage as a nation of immigrants and reform hour broken immigration system. we can create an earned pathway to citizenship and secure our border. [ cheering and applause ] and america, we must also be steadfast in advancing our security and values abroad. as vice president, i have confronted threats to our security, negotiated with foreign leaders, strengthened our alliances and engaged with our brave troops overseas. as commander-in-chief i will ensure america always has the strongest, most lethal fighting

force in the world. [ cheering and applause ] and i will fulfil our sacred obligation to care for our troops and their families and i will always honour and never disparage their service and their sacrifice. our allies. said russia could do whatever the hell they want. five days before russia attacked ukraine, i met with president zielinski to warn him about russia's plan to invade. i helped mobilize a global response over 50 countries, to defend against putin's aggression. and as president i will stand strong with ukraine and our nato allies! [ cheering and applause ] with respect to the war in gaza, president biden and i are working around the clock because now is the time to get a hostage deal and a cease-fire deal done. and let me be clear, i will always stand up for israel's right to defend itself and i will always ensure israel has the ability to defend itself because the people of israel must never again phase the horror that a terrorist organization called hamas caused on october 7. [ cheering and applause ] including unspeakable sexual violence and the massacre of young people at a music festival at the same time, what has happened in gaza over the past ten months is devastating. so many innocent lives lost. desperate, hungry people fleeing for safety over and over again.

the scale of suffering is heartbreaking. president biden and i are working to end this war such that israel is secure that, the hostages are released, is suffering in gaza ends and the palestinian people can realize their right to dignity, security , freedom and self-determination. [ cheering and applause ] and know this, i will never hesitate to take whatever action is necessary to defend our forces and our interests against iran and iran backed terrorists. i will not cozy up to tyrants and dictators like kim jong un who are rooting for trump. who are rooting for trump.

because you know they know he is easy to been up late with flattery and favours. they know trump won't hold autocrats accountable because he wants to be an autocrat himself. as president i will never waver in defence of america's security and ideals because in the enduring struggle between democracy and tyranny, i know where i stand and i know where the united states belongs. , wanting that cease-fire to come and the hostages to be released up your she said in the enduring struggle between tyranny, i know where i stand and where the united states of america belongs. that perhaps the strongest part of this speech. a forceful speech in which she's making the case that she is the nominee. >> she spoke for about 37 and a half minutes and really hit her stride when she got to those issues and started to talk about foreign policy. seemed like she was connecting with the speech and a stronger way and people responded to it and and and/or miss way, got the biggest applause i think of all the speech when she set the palestinian people have a right to safety and self-determination. a lot of questions raised in a lot of this about ukraine for example and we can get into this but she said we always stand with ukraine and waved -- they withheld weapons that were needed and the president that she worked under said a minor incursion would be allowed and that's how i got rolling so

there's a lot of -- a lot to talk about in the speech. that start to do that with the panel. >> seeing a lot of these speeches, this one was 37 minutes and hit it's marks. >> it was delivered very crisply and very professionally. there was no stumbling back fumbling or any of that. it is on paper as speech that joe biden could have given. what joe biden could not have done any point in my view in his presidency was to deliver the speech with the effectiveness she did. it was very strong. >> in many ways we watched her try to step into donald trump's territory on a lot of things in terms of middle class tax cuts, in terms of how she would yell with giving money back to people. she said she will build the strongest most lethal fighting force in the world. that has not happened under the admits ration she has worked in.

>> she was given this amazing opportunity to reintroduce herself to the american people yet again and she got there eventually on foreign policy but the beginning of the speech was a winding up of an old car and she went through her bio again she has an amazing story but the story had been told by her husband, by the obama's, by her sister, by the video that preceded it. she started at 10:33, 10:39 i put my pen down and waited she talks about wanting to chart a new way forward and this crowd knows only fight we win and they have this beautiful moments in this hall and i have to say also that when she came out and said this is the kind of commander-in-chief i would be on foreign policy, that's when i picked my pen back up. kamala harris is trying to tie donald trump to project 2025. something he did not lead, something he has stated he does

not want, something he has rejected and the media let's him basically -- lets her get away with flip-flop -- flip-flopping on issues without having to explain it. >> we talked about the patriotism that we've seen in this convention, the effort to show that there's a lot of pride in being american and those lines were in the speech. it seemed to me that those were specifically aimed at the nikki haley republicans around the country. >> i think first of all i agree with everything everyone had said dana said a day or so ago that she had to deliver it, all of these people have to deliver. she gave us a really good speech tonight. at 37 and a half minutes i think is a real highlight. you look what happened at the republican convention with president trump's speech and what happened the last three nights, we finished here on time in many ways and i would agree the foreign-policy part when she started at 11:02 and said i'm committed to maintaining the strongest and mostly full fighting force in the world and

she said ukraine and israel, this was a good start now they have to get on the economic issues very soon. >> was there a moment in this speech beyond the foreign-policy point that struck you? >> i was struck most of all by the delivery and her sense of timing. this is a partisan audience, they were poised to love whatever she said. she delivered in such a way and i she got about as much in terms of momentum from the crowd as you can get. keeping in mind that this is a partisan audience, they were here to cheer her and they did. >> join asked now by phone, the 45th president of the united states, former president donald trump. mr president thank you for joining us you were truth social laying along the speech, what is your first reaction to it? >> the biggest reaction is why didn't she do the things that she's complaining about? all of these things that she talked about we are going to do

this are that we will do everything, but she didn't do any of it she could have done it three and a half years ago. she could do it tonight by leaving the auditorium and going to washington dc and closing the border. she doesn't need a bill. i close the border and created a safest border we've ever had in the history of our country. she could have done all of these things and she could still do them. she's got four and a half or five months left. she can go there right now and do all of the things, many of the things that she's talking about and complaining about. it was a lot of complaining she didn't talk about china, didn't talk about fracking, didn't talk about crime, didn't talk about 70 percent of our people are living in poverty she didn't talk about housing really. the trade deficit she didn't talk about child trafficking that she's allowed to happen because she was the border czar. presided over the weakest border in the history of our country. it's an invasion, i was there

today. it's an invasion taking place at our southern border, a total invasion and now we are starting at our northern border also threw canada and she didn't talk about any of that because she talked but she doesn't do it. no action. other than that it was a nice looking room. >> mr president martha mccallum here, she said she has promising middle class tax cuts and she says that if you are elected it will cost americans $3900 more a year and increased taxes. she's trying all of -- tying all of that to project 2025. what do you say to that? >> she knows i have nothing to do with project 2025. they throw out a group of people who got together, i haven't even seen it, i don't want to see it. people know where i stand. i lowered taxes, she's raising

taxes. she's going to give a tax increase of four to five times what people and companies are paying right now. the country will go into a depression if they do it. she didn't talk about interest rates. the interest rates are getting close to record rates. people can't do business, nobody can borrow money. people can't goat and buy a house because they can't afford the interest rates and even if they cut the money isn't available. she did not talk about any of that. if she got -- she's a marxist. she always was and always will be. she will leave the border open. i was there today and the border patrol gave me total endorsement for all of that. gotten endorsed buy almost every major police group in the united states but she is a marxist with open borders. she won't have any fracking and pennsylvania. closing down the oil and gas industry and she's going to go bust. she didn't talk about the

$35 trillion which i was going to start paying off with liquid gold that we have writer -- right under our feet. we would've started paying off debt, lowering taxes are there and she wants to raise the taxes on corporations. what they will do is pick up and move to the other countries. they moved to ireland and other places. many of these industries, they are international companies. she raises taxes like she wants to do with companies, there go those jobs. i'm more interested in the jobs and the companies but there that go those jobs and what's going to happen is they will pick up and move to another country. they will pick up and move to another country. we're good to be promised taxes at half the numbers that she's talking about and more than that >> on the issue of immigration, vice president harris like many demo -- democrats have used the bipartisan senate bill and your

efforts to lobby republicans not to move forward with that, to use the issue in this election as part of the speech. she said she will sign that bipartisan bill. she doesn't talk about executive orders that could have been launched in the beginning but how do you respond to that and are you ready to debate kamala harris on september 10th given what you heard tonight? >> number 1 debate on september 4th at fox and she turned it down because as you know i was willing to debate with you and martha. i was going to debate on september 4th and she turned it down and i'm willing to debate, i don't like abc i think they are probably the worst of the two but i'm willing to do abc. i was willing to do cnn with joe biden and you saw what happened there. they don't treat me or republicans very good but i was willing to do it because it was

tell you it's a dangerous place and i was being told by secret service that a lot of other law enforcement there is really dangerous here. i think it's time to leave. you wouldn't believe the things that i saw at that border. she is the border czar peer she wants to deny that. she was in charge of the border, she's the worst border czar in history of the world. there's never been a border so unsafe as this one. 20 million people have poured in to our country, many of them from prisons and jails and mental institutions and as sane asylums and record number and other countries are releasing their prisoners from the jail, emptying out there jails into the united states of america because of her incompetence and her bad border policies. she is a horrible, horrible person to run this country. we won't have a country if she gets elected. >> there's been a huge appeal

and momentum for women voters. she's trying to call that the youth vote and hispanic vote, the black vote back in her direction. polls show she's having some success in that at this point so what are you going to do? what your strategy to rebuild the momentum that you had with those voters. >> she's not having success. i'm doing great with hispanic voters. doing great with black men. i'm doing great with women because women want safety, they want safety and they don't have safety when they have somebody allowing 20 million people in to our country, many of them very dangerous people. it's only in your eyes that they have that thought. we are doing very well in the polls and leading and most of them and in the swing states, we are leading in almost every one of them. the autoworkers are voting for me because he won't have an auto
