" " lukas: good morning and thanks for joining us this midday. i'm lukas voss in for jessica rae rescue crews in norfolk responded to a house fire early this morning. the norfolk fire division were on scene just after 2:00 am at 605 w walnut street, to battle the blaze.

18 firefighters and 2 rigs worked to contain the fire, taking about 10 minutes to control it, and another hour and a half overhauling the structure. terry zwiebel, the city fire marshal, says the fire was caused by an electrical circuit failure in the attic. an estimated $40,000 damage was caused to the property. no injuries occurred to either firefighters or civilians during the incident. lukas: been arrested in connection to a shooting that norfolk over the weekend. lukas 21 year old zach siemer of norfolk, 21 year old tremain monroe, who is not pictured, and 18 year old marquis granville of norfolk were arrested yesterday. on sunday norfolk police responded to a report of a shooting at 915 logan street. the investigation showed that a 12 gauge shot gun was used as a threat to try to get stragglers out of a house party, as the gun got passed around it was dropped and ended up hitting a man in the foot, he was taken to the hospital, and that is when the story about an unknown

shooting was developed, lukas: a sioux city man facing murder charges has had his trial postponed... the change comes asked judge jeffrey neary for more time to prepare for the trial. 30-year-old schroeder has pleaded not guilty to first- degree murder and other charges his trial..originally scheduled for february 16th has been moved to july 12th. he is being accused of killing 29-year-old dustin wilder at his home in sloan in january 2015. according to court documents, schroeder was with his wife in wilder's home, when he shot him several times. wilder was found later that morning. lukas: after finding a crucial piece of evidence, investigators in ames have made an arrest in a hit and run case involving a bus . police are charging 23- year-old benjamin clague of gilbert with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to obey a traffic control device. he allegedly struck and killed 18-year-old emmalee jacobs while driving a cy-ride bus. a recording taken

you don't see the impact on video... you do hear the impact from the bus what we believe is striking emmalee turning the corner... ames police are still looking for anyone who may have witnessed the accident and officials from the cy-bus program are hoping to do everything in their power from preventing an incident like this from happening again. lukas and turning to politics now ... former arkansas govenor mike huckabee was in sioux city this morning campaigning at the siouxland center for active generations. he took time to meet and greet with the audience and also took questions. huckabee was the surprise winner of the 2008 republican caucus in iowa ... but thinks this year is very different ... mainly because of voter mentality. "there is also i think a deeper level of rage and anger from the voters. they are so frustrated they need to be angry that they lost their jobs, their income drop, their pension funds depleeted by stupid decisions." huckabee is still trailing both major republican

ted cruz ... but will continue to campaign throughout siouxland with his second stop today being le mars. lukas: if you aren't exactly familiar with caucusing, no worries a traveling display outlining the history of the iowa caucuses is touring around the state. yesterday at saint ambrose university in davenport iowa organizers engaged both students and the community, informing them of the rich history of the iowa caucuses. "(mary heinzman/executive director of information resources at st. ambrose university) we have a lot of students who come from other states who don't even know what a caucus is. so, to have this here during an election year is a great opportunity for them to learn about the process, what happens during the caucus and ht influences the presidential race." lukas: that very exhibit will be in sioux city at morningside college starting city at morningside college starting january 30 running until mid february. it's free and open to the public. there's also a permanent display in des moines as well. lukas:

"the norfolk city council has tabled a motion to allow parking on 7th street south of the roundabout while city staff look into other options. city administrator shane weidner says the railroad wants to put a stop to parking right-of-way, and that would leave along that stretch without adequate the smithsonian institute's traveling exhibit "the way we worked" is on display now at norfolk's elkhorn valley museum. representing families from flint.. have now filed three class action lawsuits.. arguing state and city officials should have acted sooner.. according to recently released emails.. officials - in an attempt to save money-- apparently waited nearly 5 months to warn the public of the toxic levels of lead when they changed the city's water source... marcy forsleff / flint resident: "we haven't had our water tested so i'm concerned. we have five kids." in addition to more aid.. the governor pledged greater transparency.. this as the flint mayor met with president obama. mayor karen weaver / (d) flint, mi: "i'm really glad to be here because i know we are going to get more resources." president obama: "i told her that we're going to have her back and all the people of flint's back? it is a reminder of why we can't shortchange basic services." the governor, in the meantime, says he takes full responsibility and as a first step in being transparent.. he's released more than 270 pages of his emails related to this emergency. eh, abc news, ny lukas still to come... a business

wecall center in sioux city. a spokesperson for the century link call center confirmed it shut down on friday. saying the closure is part of "century link's ongoing effort to remain competitive " the work from sioux city's center will be transferred to a site in utah. the 47 employees were given the option relocate for those jobs and other jobs in the company or accept severance packages. lukas there's a new flavor of oreo cookie rolling into stores. nabisco's cinnamon-bun flavored cookies officially hit the market. buzz about the flavor's release has been circulating for three months. fans rejoiced on social media when the cookies were spotted in stores. the company also says it will be re- releasing red velvet oreos in time for valentine's day. lukas:
