you can see from fort collins to boulder and broomfield. we have the fog. be cautious, there's some rain on the west side of town something else to watch out for. police are securing the location hours after it all happened and we can see that outside of the house where it happened, there is both yellow

that sometimes indicates what may have happened outside when talking about a death investigation. police unable to give us details they did give us time outside. we saw the crime scene unit for about 3 hours collecting evidence, going in and out of the house along with investigators we know that the denver coroner was here for some time after that and denver police were able to open up the area. we checked back in with police to see if they could give us information. that's all they can release and it's a death information and we hope to learn more later in the day. three legacy high school coaches remain in the hospital this morning after the deadly cool bus crash at dia. we are keeping you updated and

staff are rallying behind those involved. >> reporter: a lot of support but a lot of hurdles to clear. some of the football players still being tested for concussions they are discussing whether or not they will play their scheduled homecoming football game this morning the coaches on the bus that crashed, they suffered significant injuries frack -- broken bones and fractured skulls the district said that the main priority was to take care of the students and it's doing what it can to show support. they will continue to be at the high school for those who need the support and that support pouring in from outside of the school as well. the high school in california, that's the team that legacy flew

they tweeted saying we stand with you. it's followed by hash tag, legacy strong, which is picking up steam across social media. other outlets using the hash tag. a lot of support pouring in. the district will meet to discuss whether or not those football players go onto play the homecoming game scheduled live from the high school, cbs 4 morning news thank you. we're hearing from the husband of the bus driver killed in the crash. josh horner and their children are hurting. he was 44 years old. she was a married mother of 4 and a grandmother. >> i want to know what happened with my wife

more than she loved being here with me. >> josh says his wife suffered from migraines 20 years ago but went to a specialist and has not had one since the coroner says she had an enlarged heart. let's check on weather and traffic this morning and the children are going to need to bundled up this morning for the first time in a long time. >> it may be jacket weather. it's a little ol we'll get to that in a second. we have some snow and rain this morning. summer set area, we have had some scattered showers north as well and a little bit of rain moving through near lamar. here in denver, some rain on the west side of town it's a little misty in some spots looking at the fog, it's still not that great heading toward

like i-76 at i-70. red eye flyers, crews are working on the passenger planes through friday. service shuts down from 1:00 in the morning until 4:00 in the morning. dia providing bus services through there but they must use the bridge at the security check point. there is a broncos story unfolding off of the football field this morning. broncos li marshall plans to meet with the denver police chief. this comes as he continues his protest. marshall says he's hoping to -- >> they don't know what it is like to be a minority. i'm not saying it's terrible.

at this point -- >> century link is the second company to announce ending an endorsement deal. a denver officer killed two years ago back in the hospital after a successful emergency surgery >> family members say that he spent time in the icu during the weekend and is now stable. that's the good news they have not said why he needed the surgery, it was his 19th surgery. a driver suffering a seizure

he escorted students downtown. the officer returned to work last month on a limited basis. those 19 surgeries so far have kept him alive. new this morning, there's a warning looking for those to help a deputy shot a week ago in parker. the sheriff's department says that scammers are now soliciting money. investigators are looking into several reports of you can visit cbsdenver.com to learn about ways to help the detective as he recovers in the hospital. hillary clinton still off of the campaign trail this morning while she deals with pneumonia. she said she felt dizzy and briefly lost her balance on sunday she's facing questions about transparency for not disclosing her pneumonia after her diagnosis on friday.

it's across the street from the studios and we have had a little bit of rain easing up and just a little pocket for us there's been some rain and drizzle and mist around town and we have a little bit of fog as well. let's look at the satellite and radar. it's not showing up in the denver area, we have had rain and snow and we have some showers moving through now near lamar moving up from the corner of the state and clearing out a little bit in it's not showing up because it's again that fine. looking at the visibility, it's pretty tough in some areas, reduced visibilities into the foothills where we have some fort collins so south of town has some fog western slope, the chance of rain today. in the denver area, a couple showers this morning and we have

we have a chance of rain and we have a chance for denver in the afternoon and the evening. we may get a few breaks, but by 3:00, it could last through the evening and another surge through the slope up to the cornerovernight and through tomorrow could have some rain and we have a chance of more rain and thunderstorms headed our way tomorrow. heavier rainfall and there could be a few pockets of rain today's thunderstorms we're 13 degrees cooler after the cold front. 14 in boulder. that puts us at 49 in denver it's chilly outside it's cool. 48 in boulder. 48 in greeley. 43 in avon and craig and 63 in grand junction. temperatures will be in the upper 40s. cloudy and on the cool side. there could be a few pockets of drizzle but temperatures will be cooler as well.

eventually arrested garrett brown he lives a few doors down from the girl. it's not certain what he was doing. florida governor rick scott head to capitol hill to lobby for a zika funding. there's 8 new cases since week alone. president obama says he's hopeful both matters will be resolved in the coming weeks we have a temporary cease fire in syria. it continues to hold. it went into effect at sun down and expected to allow for delivery of humanitarian aide much needed there. they hope it will pave the way for an end to the country's bloody civil war. >> 49 degrees in denver.

security wait times 20 minutes and the lots are open we have temperatures in the 80s for new york, d.c. in the 90s. atlanta 86 today hot and humid that way. midwest fairly mild and we have some bigger storms moving through iowa and parts of michigan morning. we have some snow up there and we have seen quite a bit in some spots up in the pacific northwest, 70s and 80s. let's check in with joel. rushing in from the news room we have the train that is blocking santa fe and a portion of alameda as well it's just to the north and you can see the line of purple. police we are trying to get the information about how to get around it. it's a big section of alameda past broadway this morning and with the road work in mississippi, there's not a lot of options further south. i would avoid the intersection of santa fe and alameda and the whole area as the train is stopped and it's going to be for some time this morning. thank you. good information. pulling the championship games

good morning, this is the news break in denver police are investigating two different deaths this morning. one is in the block of xanadu street. it started last night around 9:00. spending about 3 hours or so. investigators spent time at a house on the corner still closed off by crime scene tape this morning and we do know that the coroner was there as well. so we have a death, with i don't know what happened yet but working on more information and getting it to you as we learn it. police are telling us about another body on the train tracks it has closed santa fe.

south cherokee street and east ohio avenue to give you a more closer location in the area and joel is watching this because joel, traffic is obviously affected. >> it's going to be a mess for folks and you get a train that is stopped a u you get to the north of the exit to exit north of alameda and you can see the long line of purple it affected traffic as well as folks have to use it around get to southbound on santa fe because of the construction work going on. not a lot of options because we have the road work in mississippi going out to broadway. we'll see a lot of flashing lights near the i-25 and broadway station this morning. that is kind of a mess southbound coming into town, we have another issue. that is an accident, it's backing up traffic hitting southbound along i-25. you you can see the wet roads

watching i-70 this morning as we have fog in the high country. >> we get to lauren with the full forecast in a moment. with i now know the name of a man shot by a deputy. investigators say that the 37-year-old is in grave condition this morning. that shooting happened saturday afternoon after reports of schaefer armed and along 287 he was threatening drivers the deputy shot him multiple times the deputy is not hurt but on administrative leave. we can share your thoughts tonight on how the police department can improve trust and build relationships. numerous problems including officer misconduct. it's going to be a listening session tonight at 6:00 at stewart middle school.

leaders at the department of justice want to hear people's concerns about police in commerce city and stepping in at the request of the city. most recent misconduct case included two training officers playing pokemon go instead of training the officers. city council members passed two measures to raise property taxes and fees affordable housing. an alternate measure delays the fees and tax increase by a year. city council members visit it on september 19th. the secretary of labor is spending time in denver and talking about the minimum wage. he plans to meet with some business leaders while he is here. okay, with i want -- we want to get back to weather and traffic.

death investigation. but lets talk about the traffic implications >> what you're looking at the is maps. it's near the broadway station, you stop a train and there's quite a few cars and covering up the roadway and cuts across like this and comes over alameda. it's not affecting traffic because it's on a bridge but there are no bridges for the railroad along santa fe it's closed in both alameda. you're not able to access down to alameda this morning. you can't access to the north either. you see the long line of purple here. right now, you're taking the detour and out to broadway and luckily, it's broadway in town and not the mess further to the south but a train blocking. here we are across the denver area, we have a trouble spot

new trouble along university. c-470, it's southbound coming into town from loveland and we have this long line of cars and we had the accident. it shows you the lower visible. these are the wet roads that we have and up into the high country. you can barely see, it's tough. >> it is tough. there is the fog out there and we're going to talk about that in a moment. a live look outside from the foothills camera. there's been some drizzle and we have some cooler temperatures to go with the fog as well let's look at what is going on outside. 13 degrees in denver. 5 for craig and steam boat. it puts us at 49. a light jacket this morning. it's not cold but different. 34 in leadville and 63 in grand junction this morning satellite and radar, rain

the southeast plains and scattered showers up north of gypsum. a little bit of drizzle on the west side of town and may have more activity. looking at the visibility, we have that thicker fog in some areas from fort collins into the high country. fog is tough. if there's not a sensor, it's hard to see in some areas watch out down south. we there's a little rain throughout the morning hours and by lunchtime, we see some clearing. there could be some sunshine and clouds out there. rain starts to develop into the southwest and shuttles through the afternoon and the evening. there could be some thunderstorms and a little bit of rain and there could be some heavier rainfall in the corner that could last through tomorrow morning. fog possible out east and a chance for more thunderstorms to roll through tomorrow afternoon and evening.

will have cooler temperatures this afternoon. >> thank you. this morning, there's still a lot of questions about what caused a 44-year-old mother to crash a school bus at dia. we do know she died here. meantime, support is pouring in this morning at legacy high school for the three coaches still in the high school there's a lot of messages going out on social media places. trying to figure out if friday's homecoming game is going to happen. >> there's actually meetings set for today to discuss that, whether or not it's appropriate to continue on with the fall game set for friday. the school district doing what it can to support the staff and that support is much needed. not only is the district suffering the loss of the bus driver but reeling over the news of the coaches

hospital this morning. they were on the bus that crashed. the coaches suffered significant injuries including broken bones and fractured skulls look at the picture all the way from the high school outside of los angeles it's the team legacy high school flew out to play last weekend before the crash. the sign reads chino hills stand with you with the up. people are using it to show support. grief counselors have been on hand at the high school and will be on hand to talk to students and staff that might need support. i'm told that saturday, activities will go on as planned.

it is thick in some area toward the west side of town even toward trinidad it heads into the high country. looking at the pikes peak camera, they have some reduced visibility. the rain this morning will clear out, we may with rain around lunchtime and we have a chance of storms heading toward denver this evening and may have some rain in some spots and overnight, some heavier rain into the northwest corner of the state. 6 degrees cooler. 15 for colorado springs and at 49 in denver. 50 in the springs and 48 in steam boat springs. 57 in boulder and we're looking at much cooler temperatures across the state.
