being with us. i'm you can see that entire area is under extreme or very high fire danger. we have our matt croshel on the way to the fire. matt tell us what you're seeing. >> reporter: you can see the smoke miles away. this is a massive fire. i was able to confirm that homes have burned. they are confirming that structures have been lost in right now 11,000 acres are burning and 3,000 people are evacuated. there's a lot more that are preevacuation notice. but 3,000 people evacuated as this fire continues to push east into pueblo county. we're headed to west cliff on the western side of this fire and that is as far as we'll be able to get on the western side. we have crews on the other side there. this is a fire that's been fueled by these winds down here. 70-mile an hour wind gusts earl littler this morning.

in the car, because you just can't really hear me if i'm outside. it is dry and it is a tinderbox. a lot of folks are going to be impacted by this fire. >> do you know how many homes may have burned and then how many mores may be threatened. >> right now they have the 3,000 people evacuated. they say there are 140 homes that are immediately threatened right now. they don't have a number for how many homes have burned but buildings lost including homes. this is all happening since around 3:40 this morning when the first calls came in about smoke. between 3:40 to here we are at noon. this thing has exploded to 11,000 acres and it is continues to grow. it is very dry out here. we were down here earlier this summer for the fire. a lot of winds are coming here

the week end. he's being described physically as a little person. about 3'7" tall. he was arrested after getting off a plane. the explosive device was discovered last the tuesday at the netherland police headquarters. it was in a backpack that was taken inside. when the pack was en revealed to be a bomb. it was determined it was a sophisticated device. damnation was apparently attempted by whoever left it there but it failed. a reverse 911 call went out to residents later before the device was purposely detonated in order to make it safe. the remaining parts were sent to the fbi lab for examination. the suspect dansbury was traced

campaign 2016. donald trump jr. is campaigning in inglewood and denver today. tomorrow in colorado springs and grand junction. on the democratic side, bernie sanders is campaigning in fort collins for his former opponent, hillary clinton. the final debate is set for wednesday. >> reporter: donald trump took to twitter early this morning to complain about his falling poll alleged sexual misconduct. the tracker poll shows trump trailing clinton among women voters by 15 points. over the weekend trump blamed media bias. >> the election is being rigged by corrupt media pushing false allegations and outright lies in an effort to elect hillary clinton president. the fbi released more of

filled with flammable liquid into the office in hillsboro burning furniture and signs. a -- hillary clinton condemned the attack calling it horrific and unacceptable. supporters. no one was in the office at the time of the attack. developing now, family and friends want some answers about why someone shot and killed a 19-year-old outside of his home last week. deonte mcdonald was the oldest of six kids. the shooting happened wednesday at an apartment complex at south birch and louisiana. >> i was standing right there. my daughter was standing there. anybody. it could have been anybody. any of us. >> reporter: police haven't released any information on a

says the fight to free mosul iraq from isis is going well. cbs news foreign correspondent holly williams is with those troops. >> reporter: these curdish fighters are trying to retake the main road to mosul which is in that direction over there. just before dawn this morning we were with them as they broke ro and armoured vehicles moved into this area which has been controlled by isis for the last two years. the curds have artillery. we've seen isis respond with a suicide car bomb which moved thrud -- moved through this area which was evidently blown up. over the last few days, progovernment iraqi forces have moved in position around the outside of mosul and they

we have smoke into trinidad. our winds are 20 miles per hour as you head through broom field, 25 miles per hour. those winds are strong as well. our windiest spot is the bertha path where winds are at 26 miles per hour. but into netherland you're winds are 25 miles per hour. those winds are really strong but they will die down this afternoon. we may have already had the strongest winds of the day. high country all the way down south. we have high winds warnings through 4:00 this afternoon. some of out at 40-miles-an-hour. we have the red flag warnings we talked about. these cover parts of the foothills. the front range and all the way into the eastern plains. we have really high wind warning. just be extra cautious out there this afternoon. now we have this front and then these winds. it's a little cooler.

steam boat, 28 degrees cooler. that puts us at 75 in denver. it's still very cool to the north. 73 in akron. only 32 right now in steam boat. 35 in craig that front again working its way in. 67degrees in avon. today temperature 76 for us here in denver. 63 in grealy and boulder. 59 in aspen and 70 over in grands junction. there al there as well in that north western corner into parts of laramer county as well. there's snow, rocky mountain national park toward feather lakes. and then as we head toward our north western corner you can see scattered from meaker. and that swinging on through and we're going to get windier and cooler with this. overnight tonight that front will push on through and there could be some moisture out there.

here in denver we may get some showers tomorrow. but we have much colder air coming our way. there could be mountain snow tonight and tomorrow nigh and we may get a little bit more of that into wednesday as well in some spots. for us the, 76 today, 63 tomorrow. it'll be a little less windy tomorrow. we're down to the 50s on wednesday but we do start to recover pretty nicely by the week end. it's going to be warm again. >> it's a little will look like when the broncos host the texans. >> its really looks nice and dry throughout the weekend. hopefully it stays that way. >> the broncos 4-2. coming up next, we have the clowns. why political masks are all the rage this halloween. but first, a live look at where the dow is heading this afternoon.
