morning long. let's go to her live now. i understand this is not the teen's first run in with the law either. >> reporter: this teenager had multiple warrants out for his arrest. we do know he was doing just about everything he could to evade police and colorado state patrol. at one point this chase became so dangerous, that police had to call it off. it was just before 11:00 last night when the teen flew past a georgetown he was headed east along i-70, clocked at 110 miles per hour. the officer caught up to him only because he was slowed down by traffic. the driver pulled over, but quickly changed his mind and took off. the chase continued reaching speeds of 120 miles per hour. that's when the officer decided it was too dangerous and he had to call it off. but it didn't end there. about two minutes later the

unsuspecting state trooper in his car. >> he tried to do an amateur pit maneuver on the trooper's vehicle, crashed into his vehicle and fled past him. the driver crashed here at the 239 exit, and fled on foot. >> reporter: after a short search, officers were able to locate the suspect. he did have a few injuries so he was taken to the hospital, treated for what are minor injuries and taken into custody. the trooper whose car he hit fortunately uninjured in this incident. it's still investigation. i have a call in to georgetown police. still waiting to hear more on the suspect, more information. live on i-70 near morrison, jamie leary, cbs4 news. >> jamie thank you very much. denver police are looking for witnesses who can help them determine how a deadly accident

and clinton after 7:00 this morning. police say the woman was not in a crosswalk. the driver who hit her did stop. man accused of ambushing and killing two police officers in des moines, iowa could be charged today. now scott michael greene remains in a hospital. cbs4's danielle nottingham explains greene was no stranger to police in that area. >> reporter: police in iowa say they found evidence tying scott michael greene to the killings of two police officers. we do believable it was the firearm used in the attack. >> reporter: police say he ambushed the two officers overnight wednesday in their cars. the killings happened about 20 minutes apart, less than 2 miles from each other. greene turned himself in hours later and was taken to the hospital after saying he felt sick. greene was well nonto police in the area.

stadium, sir? >> you grabbed me. >> reporter: greene recorded this video about two weeks ago showing police escorting him from a high school football game. witnesses say he waved a confederate flag at a group of black spectators during the national anthem. police say he recently had a fight with his mother who he had been living with. 24-year-old martin joined the urbandale police officer year. the 38-year-old bemean o had been with the des moines police department since 2005. >> nobody deserved this. >> reporter: outside the urbandale police department, flowers, flags and balloons pay tribute to the fallen officers. danielle nottingham, cbs news, des moines, iowa. vannedles hit a church in denver almost exactly a year

yes, it's pleasant, but we really need the rain. this is the latest drought monitor. a week ago our drought was affecting about 65% of the state. as of this morning, that has jumped from 65% to 91% of colorado is under some stage of drought. here in the metro area, we have moderate drought. we don't want to see that get worse. we don't want to go in severe or extreme. the only way to rectify that is to get rain. last time we had rainfall, october 12th and we only had 0.01 inches. last time we had substantial rain, a month ago, about 0.10 inches. rain and snow into the state. the heavy yet southwest of the state. snowfall forecast looks like
