27-year-old kyle orth speeding and running red ghts in downtown cedar rapids.later on -- orth tried to get away by driving in reverse down an alley but ran into a utility pole.the shooting happens next -- when orth tries to g away again. y put your hands up - nats - gunfire gunfire orth was hit three times -- but recovered from his injuries and was charged with several crimes.the linn county attorney said the two officers' actions were justified.earlier this month -- orth eaded guilty and will spend 180 days in jail. the attorney general's office says a waterloo officer was also justified when he shot a suspect last month. a review of the case found the officecedid *not break the law by shooting at a suspect who was quickly driving toward him. the identity of the officer is being withheld because of his position in b drug task force. the dedertment of public safety says he acted

here's's look at some of eastern iowa's top stories -- on this morning... today -- marion residents are invited to attend a reception honoring outgoing mayor snooks bouska.it's being held in the atrium at marion city hall following the city council meeting at around 7.mayor bouska did not seek re-election this past november's elections. city council member nicolas abou- saly will take over in january. starting this morning at 7-30 -- park road in iowa city will be down to one lane of alternating traffic just east of its intersection with riverside drive.this is for nstruction to install an electrical manhole in the area. an anamosa grocery store will soon be getting a new owner. fareway announced it is buying the old family foods center on main street.the company is working with the city to remodel and reopen the grocery ore as soon as possible. fafaly foods closed last month after being open for more than 50 years.
