everything white.a winter weather advisory is in effect there until 6:00 this evening. the combination of snow and reduced visibility makes it difficult for people trying to navigate the roads. black hawk county authorities have arrested a man they say was getting ready to deliver meth. meth.la porte city police stopped jordan jones just before 3-30 this morning for a traffic violation.officers say, the k-9 unit helped with the stop and indicated drugs were in the vehicle. police searched the car, and say they found meth there - and more at the suspect's home. jones faces numerous charges, including possession of methampetamine with intent to deliver. home break-ins are common aroundthis time of year but there are ways you can protect yourself - including when you're throwing away the boxes from all your new toys and gadgets. 14:44:21 make sure when you bundle it that you keep the pictures on the inside so that the would be burglars can't see whether that's abox from a refrigerator that you

now ten at ten continues with a look at tonight's other stories across the corridor. the hawkeyes are on their way to the rose bowl - and the con artists are already trying to cash in. police in marion say to be on the lookout for someone in a white hyundai sonata with washington plates selling fake tickets to the rose bowl. if you are making a purchase from someone you met online, police want to remind you that their lobby and parking lot are "safe zones" for online transactions. they've made their space available in march, after an incident in colorado where a woman was attacked while responding to a craigslist ad. in cedar rapids rapidsstrong winds yesterday caused some problems in the corridor.here's a look at a farm on the corner of miller road and tower terrace road, trees are down all over the farm and bulk tanks were moved by the strong winds.a 25-year-old spruce was uprooted and a hay-rack was tipped upside downthe family said nobody was hurt inside the house despite the roof

in north liberty libertypeople are lining the pews going to christmas services.three services at grace community church were packed. but as cbs 2 news reporter mellaney moore explains, explains,church leaders are trying to keep people coming back, even after the holiday season. for some, coming to church is a way to start their christmas celebration. celebration.01:51:14 we are committed to the lord jesus.this is his birthday, it is all about that.at grace community church, staff say christmas is part of what it's all about. about.church executive pastor 20:14:47 we hear the message of the baby jesus and people can think that's all good and cute, but the reality is, when jesus came to earth it was a rescue mission. when he came it was really the start of him coming back to bring us back into right relationship.more than 1500 people attend the non denominational church with locations in north liberty and downtown iowa city.the church expects more people on holidays and with some regulars out of town, a different congregation.

the kids were probably pretty tough to put to bed tonight. all night we've been tracking santa's progress around the world. world.believe it or not, tracking santa has been the role of the u-s military for 60 years.and it all started by accident. accident.here's a special report from norad norad 60 years ago history was made in december 1955 when a phone call came into the continental air defense command in colorado springs, colorado. answering the call, col. harry shelp was surprised to hear the voice of a young child, asking to speak with santa claus. soon after, more calls began filling the phone lines, all with eager children hoping with a chance to talk with santa.little did col. shalp and his team know, a department store had placed an ad in a local paper, hoping to draw children to their holiday toy sale.the misprinted phone number led to an important red phone in the conad operation
