today. we have clouds this morning and now we see sunshine in parts of eastern iowa. we are going to start to warm up as well. we've had fog and cloud cover. now we're seeing the end of the clouds near cedar rapids and monticello in dubuque. we will see sunshine areawide throughout the rest of the this afternoon and evening. temperatures warming up in the 70s areawide. we have seen 76 in waterloo and 74 in cedar rapids and 78 in iowa city. temperatures continue to climb up to area -- upper 80s. close to 80 for the to the south.

less humid but it won't be completely comfortable. just slightly dryer air that will be in place for now and yes that means the humidity is going to go right back up. i will let you know how long the humidity will be with us and when you need the umbrella's coming up in a few minutes. kelly? >>reporter: -- one-person dead and another injured at alpine high school in western texas about 200 officials say the shooter, a student died of self inflicted gunshot wounds. the person who was injured was transferred to a local hospital. no word on his or her condition. there are no other suspects in the shooting. a police officer was accidentally shot by a marshall as officers responded. the officers condition is not known at this time. a former substitute teacher now says she is not guilty of

marybeth haglund entered not guilty wednesday but during interviews haglund admitted to sexual contact with the student. she is charged with sexual -- exploitation by school employee. the school tried to cover up the controversy. longtime washington principal and activities director resigned from their positions, along with district human resources officer this week. district leaders completed their investigation and they say school district procedures were not followed. haglund will face a judge in november. family and friends of the cedar rapids teenager gunned down 1 year ago gathered again. 1 year ago 15-year-old aaron richardson was found bleeding on 16th street southeast. manslaughter.he is now being held in juvenile detention.

many shootings last year in cedar rapids.and now - one year later - the community is calling for change. change.last night, dozens of richardson's family and friends met at his gravesite to celebrate his life and reflect--- on the past year without him.richardson's mom says there have been ups and downs for her and her family. ultimately, she hopes her son's death was not in vain. in cedar rapids some areas saw up to three inches, dubuque saw about two inches at the airport and now we are dry. some of us are saying sunshine now. the clouds are starting to clear the sounds -- southeastern edge of eastern iowa. everyone will see the sun and it will be a nice day compared to the last few days we've had a lot of humidity and rainfall. and heavy rain at temperatures climbing out of the 70s and we get close to 80 degrees. 75 and oelwein, 73 and decorah and now that the sun shining we see the temperatures continue to warm-up. we have high temperatures climbing close to 80 degrees areawide. it will be slightly less humid than it was the last couple of days but it will be completely

out there today. a cold front pushes to the south and east taking the rain with it. another cold front moving on to -- moving on through tomorrow leading to muggy conditions and showers and storms. today we see sunshine. later tonight a few clouds build and in the morning we could see a couple of showers developed in the northwest in the morning hours. the chances are rather low picked the better will come friday afternoon. you have to make sure you have th of scattered showers and thunderstorms moving through the area. not as widespread as the last two days. we have activities continuing through the evening. we have to keep an eye on especially for parts of friday night for friday night football. but as we head into saturday we are going to see some dryer air move right on in. for the football game we have some really good looking weather and really nice fall football
