interference the president fired off another tweet on russia calling it all a big hoax. arlet signs, abc news, washington. the suspect in the deadly standoff at a los angeles trader joe's is expected in court today. family members say a feud between a man and his grandmother led to a deadly hostage situation. police say 28-year-old gene atkins shot his grandmother during an argument on saturday. he forced his girlfriend into a car and led police on a chase that ended at the trader joe's. a standoff there lasted for several hours before atkins surrendered. when it was over the store's manager was dead. a neighbor says this whole thing began over televisions. >> my neighbor's daughter told me that she went back -- her mother went back inside to tell her grandson, you know, he had too many tvs on, something in that sort and right after that she heard gun shots. >> the grandmother remains in the hospital. a cousin says she had been

unhappy with atkins having his girlfriend live with them. a desperate search under way for a missing midwest college student with ties to the bay area. 20-year-old mollie tibbetts spent part of her childhood in the glenview neighborhood before moving with her family to iowa. she was seen going out for a jog in brooklyn, iowa, wednesday night. friends and volunteers have been searching for mollie, combing corn fields where she's known to run and her mother spoke to us by phone. >> exhausting because i don't know, you know, i don't know where she is. i don't know if she's safe or not safe. >> lives in the east bay in iowa helping in that search. brook lynn, iowa, has about 1500 people and most of that community is on the lookout for mollie. happening today the berkeley city council egog toonnu owghe uan shield toonnu

abc 7 news was at the center when police took two drivers into custody on saturday. officers say the bus driver assaulted a man driving a ford mustang and arrested the mustang's driver. police say he had been driving recklessly. one of the bus passenger's said the car kept blocking the bus as it tried to go around them. no one was hurt and the passengers had to wait more than two hours to get on another bus. the nra and the second amendment foundation are suing the city of seattle over new gun law. the city passed a law requiring all guns be locked up or owners could face a $10,000 fee. the law is due to go into effect in january. gun right supporters say not only is the law unnecessary, it's also illegal. >> for many different ways for people to store people to store feeling the city shouldn't be getting involved in that regulation. >> meanwhile, seattle's city attorney says the groups suing are fighting responsible gun

ownership. he says a law firm and a gun safety group is representing the city in the legal fight at no cost to taxpayers. tempers spilled over at the rugby 7s tournament at at&t park and police are looking into a fight that took place in the players tunnel leading to the field. this happened following a match between samoa and wales. reports say a player from the welsh team was bleeding heavily and police had to break up the brawl. world rugby has suspended a player from the samoa team as a result of what happened. >> more than 100,000 people packed at&t park for the three day tournament. .s latancisco chosens t be othe b fs say part of the fu was being able to meet people who traveled from more than 28 guinea and others to be here. new zealand ended up winning the men's and women's tournaments.
