3 winter is normally pretty quiet on the greek coast... but rescue teams have had their hands full this year. fifty - thousand people have made the dangerous crossing this month... as reporter holly williams shows us... that's about twenty times more than last january. 3 (go pro vid - refugees on cliff - men, women and small children) they were so desperate to reach europe that this group of 57 migrants abandoned their inflatable raft and stranded themselves on a cliff on the greek coast. (stand up - 13 secs - holly on boat with swedes behind) winter is normally the quiet period here on the greek coastline. but this year, the rescue teams have been taken by surprise - because in january around 50 thousand people have made the dangerous crossing. (sky footage) that's over twenty times more than last january - and this month's death toll is now more than 170 - including some who tried to make the risky voyage

board than your opponent, but there are more possible positions than there are atoms in the universe. that's 10 to the power of 170. so the artifical intelligence must find a balance between recognizing the important moves, but also just playing smart, without knowing all outcomes. it's sort of like our intuition. google's system, called alphago, took on the current european go champion fan hui and beat him five times in a row. hui said google's machine did make some mistakes, giving him confidence, but in the end, he couldn't beat the machine. next up google's alphago will travel to south korea to battle the top go player in the world. but it's not all about games. this ai processing power could be applied to real-world problems, like helping humans tackle questions in medicine. experts didn't think computers could do this for another ten years. so every other tech story i have today just won't be as cool in comparison. but we can get through this without being mean to the other stories, right? alright. so paypal's venmo can now be used to pay for things in other apps. so the same app that you use to pay back your friends can now pay for online purchases? not quite. it only works with two apps, gametime and munchery. i don't know what the heck a munchery is, and i don't know if i want to know.and there is some apple news the company is recalling some models of it's ac wall adaptor sold with macacand ios devices, because of a shock risk. it's not for plugs sold for the united states or uk. it's for outlets in europe, korea, australia, new zealand, argentia and brazil. that's not the only recall - microsoft is recalling some surface pro power cables for overheating problems. yeah, google wins all news. that's
