accurate or misleading. even new questions on the topics arise. this morning, brett kavanaugh facing new scrutiny over drinking habits in high school and college. his former classmate chad ludington said kavanaugh mischaracterized his drinking in college. >> i have seen brett drunk to the point he could easily been passed out. >> you never saw him passed out? >> i never saw him passed out. >> reporter: ludington saw kavanaugh getting into a bar brawl after a ub40 concert. a police report showing kavanaugh and four others questioned in new connecticut after a bar fight. a 22-year-old man accused kavanaugh of throwing ice on him. the report doesn't say if anyone was arrested. it comes as the president is speaking out on kavanaugh and alcohol. >> i watched the man saying he

as for mark judge, he tells nbc news he has been interviewed by the fooin, bbi. previously judge said i never saw kavanaugh act in the manner dr. ford described. and deborah ramirez said he exposed himself to her at a party at yale. an allegation kavanaugh denies. a source familiar with the incident says he gave a list of witnesses to corroborate her claim. nbc news obtained the photo of kavanaugh and ramirez in 19 919. and text messages appear to show kavanaugh directly communicating with friends he hoped would refute ramirez claims b t story became public. more now about the college bar verified thender did. blaming democrats for what she called a desperate attack. blasting it as a quote

her son. >> without what we would be having a different scenario. he's asked for the people who saved his life. >> reporter: 13-year-old keen suffered a dark deep shark bite. saturday was the first day of lobster season. he was 200 yards off shore when attacked. his mom on the shore when it happened. >> he had the wirts about him. he knew there were men in a kayak. >> reporter: the kayakers and lifeguard pulling him on the small boat likely saving his life. >> i started paddling toward him. there was a big old wake of blood. >> reporter: the shark trailed the kayak as they raced him to shore. he was air lifted to the trauma center and rushed into surgery. >> i worked here for ten years. i checked with the trauma director. in the 30 years of experience

we've been seeing dark clouds roll through, a lot of wet roadways this morning. this is the bay area's first real rainfall in about six months, alth north are seeing it. let's get the latest from meteorologist kari hall. >> we can see the picture clearly on stormranger, that's our mobile doppler radar. showing that rain in san francisco, parts of the peninsula and farther northward. that's where theul as we get a closer look, we can see pockets of very heavy rain through that commute in the north bay and moving into san francisco as well. bright reds also in san francisco right now as the rain comes down. there will be more waves of this. we can see quite a bit still offshore and making its way off towards the north and east oar the next couple of hours. for the south bay and east bay, we won't see as much rain. just a couple of passes of quick moving showers. a lot of it tapers off for the afternoon. we take a break and another round of rain will be possible during the overnight hours into the day for tomorrow. i'll be tracking that.

the field friday when his friend had to be helped to the sideline in the third quarter. did you know how serious it was? >> i saw him walk off the field. i thought he was going to be okay. but whether he got to the bench, he started complaining he couldn't feel his legs. and thenta sinking in how bad he might have been hurt. >> reporter: officials at pike county high school say he suffered a brain injury but coach brad webber says at the time nothing seemed out of the ordinary. until dylan became inherent. >> he loved the game of football. he would not miss practice for anything. >> reporter: it was an motional weekend not just in georgia but also in nashville where another young football player is in critical condition after coeesitate is going to make sure they do by calling a time-out. >> christian abercrombie had also walked off the field while playing vanderbilt telling trainers he had a headache, minutes later he collapsed. death on the football field is rare. four million people that played aorganized football, 13 died from the sport, four were from

her mem i have alife at the farm where rory feek lives in their farm in indiana. what makes this place so special? >> will with, the biggest thing for me that makes it so special is the story that's unfolded here. >> what are your favorite parts of that story? >> well, i fell in love. we had a baby. my wife and i were able to grow a music career here. and then ultimately, you know, even though we're here without her, she is still here. she is buried in the cemetery back there. it is beautiful and tragic at the same time. but the beautiful outweighs the for rory is indiana, his 4 1/2-year-old daughter with joey. indiana was just 2 when her mom died. >> talk to me about how she's doing. >> she's amazing. when you find out that your little one has down syndrome, you don't know what you're going to get. it's just turned out that so far she's really just a normal kid.
