[ light laughter ] well, guys, following a wave of momentum, vice president harris is now the betting favorite to win the 2024 presidential election. [ cheers and applause ] and it's all thanks to her new campaign strategy, letting trump talk. [ laughter ] that's right. last night, elon musk held a a live conversation on x with former president trump that lasted over two hours. everyone listening was, like, "god, i miss the olympics." [ laughter ] things got off to a rough start 'cause the event was delayed by 40 minutes due to technical issues.

it's nice to know the guy who builds self-driving cars and spaceships hasn't quite figured out how to broadcast a phone call. [ laughter ] yep, technical issues and a a 40 minute delay. on the bright side, trump was just endorsed by spirit airlines. so, there you go. [ laughter and applause ] good for him. meanwhile, during the interview with musk, a lot of people thought trump was slurring his words. also, kind of whistling his words. this is real. listen to this. we didn't doctor -- >> i want to close up the department of education, move education back to the states. where -- where states like iowa -- where states like idaho -- you know, not every state will do great. >> steve: oh, my gosh. [ laughter ] some tv news, i saw that abc just unveiled the 24 men who will be on the new season of "the golden bachelorette." [ audience oohs ] yep. it doesn't start for a few months. so, by then, it might be narrowed down to 20 men. [ laughter ] yep, 24 eligible seniors. that's why the fantasy suite has a defibrillator. [ laughter ] clear! did you guys see this? netflix is opening an in-person "squid game" experience in new york city. that's right. "squid game." it's just like i always say, "strike when the iron is ice cold."

>> jimmy: he's like a triangle. yeah, yeah, yeah. he's cute. >> he's just a red triangle. anyway. the poop emoji. >> jimmy: yeah, he really does look like that. are you an athletic kid? were you growing up -- were you like into sports? >> you know, well, i loved -- i grew up in massachusetts. like our friend steven who's coming out. >> jimmy: i know, worcester. >> yeah, he's from worcester. and so, in the winter, my dad would make us an ice rink in the backyard. in the backyard. he would go out with the hose and a beer and just like -- and we would -- >> jimmy: he'd make a frozen puddle? >> yeah, and we would bring out -- we would make a pretty good-sized rink. there was a bunch of us that would go out there. and we would skate in the winter. >> jimmy: no way. >> and i loved doing my -- you know, i would try and do my, you know, these. and the twists and a couple of jumps over things. >> jimmy: what a good dad. >> i thought i was, for sure, yeah, i was going to be a a figure skater. and i didn't take one lesson. not a single lesson. [ light laughter ] all self-taught. >> jimmy: but you thought, just all-natural. [ laughter ] >> i thought if i just -- >> jimmy: all natural. self-taught. self-taught olympic -- >> i'll get there. [ laughter ] by the way, your kids are so cool. your boys -- >> thank you. >> jimmy: -- are the coolest dudes. how old are they? >> 11 and 13. >> jimmy: yeah, is it, magnus and -- >> magnus and felix. >> jimmy: felix, cool names. >> thanks. >> jimmy: i know they're only 13-years-old, but i was intimidated at how cool they were. oh, my god. [ laughter ] i was like, wow, these kids are awesome. >> you are making their life right now. >> jimmy: i love them. they're awesome. >> yeah. we've been talking for years about our kids like growing up and meeting each other and marrying. your daughters are almost the same age as my sons. >> jimmy: yes, exactly. let's do it. >> and they both went to camp this year. [ laughter ] >> jimmy: i'm ready to do it. >> i feel like, let's send them to camp next year. they'll go to the socials. >> jimmy: wait, so they just came back from camp now? >> they did, yeah. >> jimmy: what is your experience like with camp? my kids just went away this year and it was the saddest thing in the world for me. >> well, the first year, for me, was very sad as well. so, i sympathize. but then, the longer they're there, and the more sleeping in and brunches you go to, the more you appreciate camp. [ laughter ]

[ laughter ] that's the new thing. the new scared straight. >> that's the new scared straight. >> jimmy: scared straight. i just send them to prison. they made some friends that they'll have for a lifetime. yeah, they loved it. >> behind enemy lines. >> jimmy: exactly. i want to talk about "press your luck" now, too. this is, first of all, it's a a classic show. did you watch that growing up? >> of course. no whammy, in the '80s? >> jimmy: no whammy. come on, are you kidding me? and now, that's you. >> we would want to like stay home sick from school just to watch "press your luck" when i was growing up. >> jimmy: isn't it fun to do a a game show? >> i absolutely -- that's one of my favorite jobs in hollywood. i love all my jobs, but what a a great job. i get to be with somebody -- you know, we do this.

>> yeah. >> jimmy: you were my favorite thing i saw on the olympics. i honestly -- it really was my favorite. i got so emotional, watching you. what does it feel like to be a a medalist? >> yeah. great question. i mean, it feels amazing. going into that competition, i had big dreams, big hopes. and to come out and look back and say, "oh my gosh, i actually did that," it is an unbelievable feeling. >> jimmy: yeah, and did -- when you're there and you're in the olympic village, did you know how much attention you were getting? because people were talking about your glasses and they were talking about you falling asleep and stuff before the thing. did you know any of this that was happening while you are competing, or no? >> not while i was competing, but i learned shortly after. and then going into that pommel horse final, i had to literally turn my notifications off, so i didn't get too absorbed into it all. >> jimmy: yeah. [ light laughter ] and pommel horse -- how did you find that as your gymnastics talent? >> yeah, so back when i was a a junior in high school, started just getting really good at pommel horse. and one of these club coaches came up to me and said, "i think you can be national

champion one day." and that kind of just spoke to me. and i really started to grind. and sure enough, that year, i won my first junior national title on pommel horse. and got me into a college. [ cheers and applause ] yes, thank you so much. got me into college at penn state, where i continued with the pommel horse. and that's when i decided to specialize in it. >> jimmy: i just want to show everyone. so how does this work? the pressure is on you. you're about to do your routine, is that what you would call it? >> yes, yes. >> jimmy: and if you do okay, you might get a medal. >> yeah. >> jimmy: and if you don't do all right, you're going home empty handed. >> exactly. >> jimmy: yeah, pressure's on. let's watch this. watch this routine. it's crazy. >> jimmy: there you go. so right there -- >> yep. and right here is always the skill i'm worried about. one, two, three, four, five. that's what i say in my head. >> announcer: first one right here -- >> jimmy: took the glasses off because they'll probably fall. look at that thing. >> oh, yeah, that's a -- that's a tricky one. same with this one here. >> jimmy: that's what i go -- look, you're nailing this! you're exhausted? what's happening? >> yeah, so after a really long day like that where i'm waiting around five hours to finally compete. >> jimmy: is that correct? >> yeah, 'cause we get there earlier and then warm up, and then march out and compete. so it was like five hours or so. so finally, when it got to horse, i needed to calm down. so all i'm doing there is i'm tilting my head back and doing my breathing exercises and visualizing a lot, like 100 times. >> jimmy: so you're seeing -- 'cause you -- what are you used to? you get to the competition, you go, what do you have? like, a couple hours to rehearse or get to know the area? 45 minutes? what do you normally, like, not olympics? >> yeah, so like, a typical -- so usually you have a draw at a a competition of what event you're starting on. so like, we got really lucky for day one. our draw was pommel horse was first. so that's a great example because i literally got to warm up pommel horse last in the back gym and then immediately competed. so that meant that that competition, in total, was about an hour long for me. versus, ending on pommel horse, where we warm it up and then you go out and competed. and it's about a five-hour day, instead. >> jimmy: so you went, and you go, "okay, i'm in the zone." and then you go -- you close your eyes. you visualize yourself spinning

and twirling. yeah. [ light laughter ] and flipping. and i go, "oh, my gosh." and then you just went and just nailed it and then became a a sensation. and now you have the medals. and have you taken them off since? [ cheers and applause ] don't take 'em off. >> i have been taking them off. but you know, i don't want to. >> jimmy: is your girlfriend like, "get over it, dude? we get it, you won." >> oh, my gosh. she's like, "you're going to bed. it's the shower, please."
