this morning the newest developments on this chaotic scene. we have an exclusive about your safety at sky harbor. what an insider with tsa is revealing. we know you're getting ready to head out the door. >> we have issues in the west valley and east valley. this crash on us 60 is near loop 101. it is blocking the hov lane. stay to the right. up for drivers headed in on the 60 right now. let's have a look at the desert drive time. traveling from bella vista it will take you about 21 minutes. the main crash is near the 101. we also have a secondary crash your country club. that is to the left, but is adding to the delays. head out early if that is part of your route. there are still issues in the west valley.

we came upon the scene we saw several police units. they are still here. not only these three you see, but some of them wrapping around the house. i talked with an officer a few minutes ago and she is letting me know now that there was a shot fired, at least one. they don't have any suspects and nobody is hurt. they do believe may be it was somebody in the house who discharged firearm a purpose or on accident. nobody is hurt. police are on the scene. we will get back into life drive in a couple of minutes and head across the valley to look for more breaking news. for now that's what's happening your guadalupe and dobson in mesa. we take you now to breaking news in phoenix. this is the situation your 16th st. and bethany home. this is west 51.

there early this morning. let's go to nick ciletti who has been on the scene all morning. what is the latest? >> reporter: we are standing across the street from this bar. you can see officers and detectives on the scene. we are getting some of brand-new information about that escape route. phoenix police telling us they drove to the n. 16th st., taking off in a gold chevy blazer. let's four guys got into a fight and two shot the other guys. both of those guys were shot in the leg. i am working to try to get an update on theirconditions and also a better description of who exactly the suspects are. i can tell you they just started letting out some patrons who were still inside. they were witnesses. we are

them and see if we can get any eyewitness accounts. late last night lax was a mess. this morning it's trying to get back to normal after a big scare overnight. reports of a shooting turning out to be a false alarm. this is video from overnight showing the scene. at all -- at one point all flights were grounded. stephanie was caught in scene, tweeting out this photo. this morning we are hearing from some of the passengers. >> it was chaotic. we were coming in from dallas and we got off the plane and we were exiting and saw a mob running towards us. we immediately started running. we went through an emergency exit and ran down onto the runway. >> all of the terminals were searched overnight.

noise. we don't know what that noise was yet. a troubling story at phoenix sky harbor. a former tsa employees speaking out in revealing potential problems. >> this one brings it close to home. katie conner is joining us live with an exclusive on that story. what can you tell us? >> reporter: when we get to the airport take off your shoes and go through security. this morning we're learning we aren't the only ones frustrated. julie worked with tsa for over nine years. recently she says she was a witness in a sexual harassment case when she spoke out she says she was fired. it turns out her story is not uncommon. we talked with natalie quam who represents tsa employees. she says the biggest concern for her is even when employees

about national security, they get targeted. >> it is debilitating. i get these phone calls and the low morale that i don't care, i'm just going to do my shift because if i say something they will terminate me. i sit there and i say this is america. this is the federal government.>> reporter: we have reached out to tsa several times, but not yet comment. starting today there are new rules in effect regarding drones. the department of transportation sec. will brief the public on the new faa rules. some of the regulations include a weight limit of 55 pounds. we're talking about the little guys. you will only be able to fly during daylight hours. pilots will have to keep their aircraft within sight.

>> hearing from the mom really brings it home. the brothers were on parole for other gun charges. one was just released from jail two weeks ago. new developments out of italy. it looks like cheap contracting work may be to blame for the high death toll in last week's earthquake. at least 290 people died and prosecutors say many of those deaths may have been preventable. we're told following another earthquake seven years ago a lot of property owners had shoddy contracting work. now the contractors could be held responsible for contributing to the latest damage. pope francis does plan to visit those towns affected. two united airlines pilots expected in court today. both are accused of showing up to work too drunk to fly. they were supposed to fly from scotland to new jersey on saturday, but they were arrested just before takeoff.

investigation.>> reporter: very recently they started letting some of the patrons still inside go. i think i saw three leave within the last 30 minutes. we have a number of the squad cars still trying to figure out what happened. phoenix police are telling us about 2 am a fight broke out outside the cj tallies pub on 16th st. and bethany home. this escalated and two dies drove off and as they did shot back -- the bar. they were both shot in the leg. i'm working to get an update on their condition. phoenix police say these guys took off in a gold chevy blazer headed northbound on 16th st. towards glendale avenue. if anybody saw that this morning please let phoenix police no. they are still looking for these guys and we are working on an update of their

this former tsa employee says not always come at the agency doesn't always follow their own protocol. >> there have been days i have been on x-ray five hours straight. you're only supposed to be in a position for 30 minutes. >> reporter: that is julie, she was a tsa officer at sky harbor for nearly 9 years. now she says often times the tsa doesn't follow protocol because of understaffing. we checked with the union who represents some tsa employees. dennis spent more than 11 years with tsa and says the biggest problem is the lack of ongoing training. >> i cannot tell you the amount of times either myself or somebody on the floor, so many says what do i do for this and a supervisor should know most everything owing on or what should go on, i don't know, let

say.>> reporter: he says when employees raise concern it is the employees who get treated as a problem. reached out to tsa but have not heard back yet. breaking overnight, a busy night for valley firefighters as a respond to a couple of different house fires. crews tell us the fire near chandler and mcclintock is suspicious. we saw them putting up crime scen this was a rental home and the tenant moved out yesterday morning. the fire started on the porch and spread to the garage and attic. the next fire is just minutes away at this home near ray and priest in tempe. the family heard the bathroom exhaust fan making a strange noise. the bathroom fan was on fire. everyone made it out safely. we are expecting to learn

in the septic tank murder. the pinal county sheriff's office says two cold case murders happen in the casagrande area. dismembered remains of one victim were found in a doesn't wash in 2009. a second set of remains found in the septic tank in 2014. both of those men were reported missing in 2008 from a west phoenix home. the murders are now being linked to a violent mexican drug gang. looking head to tomorrow morning, polls will be open for the arizona's secretary of state unveiling new reporting election system that will show the voting results from all arizona counties in real time. covered -- users won't have to hit refresh, the numbers will automatically update for you. we will be following a lot of races. >> we're learning where donald

triple digits by 1:00. today the high will be 105. hot and dry day as we continue our break from monsoon storms. today's storm threat area is across the eastern arizona. storm chances back in the valley forecast soon and i will show you when in a few minutes. we have delays scattered around the valley right now. even in the north valley things are slowing down for drivers loop 101 eastbound. looking around union hill's 2 75th avenue. and then a long break to the 17. that doesn't ease up until around cave creek. i-17 southbound heavier between thunderbird and dunlap. the thickest spot on the 17 is around the durango curve. a 13 minute desert drive time from the stack to the split because of a crash at seven street.

taken to the hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries. one man tried to run from the scene that was taken into custody. a texas woman creating what she calls a simple device to prevent hot car death. it is called the umbilical cord. the simple device connects the driver side door handle to the handle of the driver side taxi doors. when the driver gets out it keeps the driver from going too far without getting their attention. there forest back. the products are only being sold in texas right now. they're hoping to expand sales to other states very soon. as the national park service celebrates 100 years we are learning many tourists are behaving badly at the parks. that includes the grand canyon. the associated press found parks are dealing with illegal camping, vandalism, theft and wildlife harassment we're told the national park service is looking for ways to fix these problems.
