are taking action this morning over this re-entry facility for hundreds of ex-cons. why they say it's all about safety. thank you for starting your day with us on abc15 this morning. the last 24 hours, quite active, and folks are dealing with rain, iris. oh, yeah. tracking showers but i'm not expecting a wash out. this is a slight chance of spotty showers continuing through 8:00. you'll foyth phoenix metro. a 10% chance of rain in the forecast until 8:00 in the morning as spotty showers are still a possibly. 74 right now at phoenix sky harbor and warm to 84 at 10:00, still nice and upper 80s by noon and a high of 94. another chance of showers and storms this afternoon. all in all, today's chances at 10% and more chances for showers and storms tomorrow. i'll have the details on those chances in just a bit.

look at a crash at 19th avenue and broad way. this is a live look as the crew is on scene, south of the durango curve, southern or 7th could be good options to wrap around the congestion. and a look at the big picture. delays on the 7 and 17, and crash on i-10, just past 91. looks like serving off to the left with a lot of emergency vehicles and a look at the 17. a little congestion near camelback. a look at the adot camera. we had a crash earlier, one near camelback and one at bethany home. and we have a crash, a traffic alert for east valley drivers on the 60. >> mallory, thank you.

shootings are making headlines nationwide and includes in the valley. >> no two shootings are alike, and the latest at 19th avenue and deer valley. that is where we find abc15's katie conner. katie, what do we know about this? >> reporter: this was a planned undercover drug deal, dan. an officer pulled over a drug suspect at the am/pm. the officer approached the suspect and saw a backed away and that's when the suspect threw his car in rerester and rammed the patrol vehicle. then the officer saw a suspect raise a gun and that's when he shot the suspect. the suspect is expected to survivor but it's the second time this month of someone trying to run over officers.

the ramp on u.s. 60 westbound right at iron wood has been shut down for the past 30 or 40 minutes because of a crash and apache junction police tweeted out that they have cleared the restrictions. and i want to head to glendale, a serious crash, camelback 67th, probably use bethany home instead, and on the 10, we just jumped out to a 30-minute desert drive time. so heavy delays from 75th to the mini stack. by the time you hit the tunnel, it eases up. as far as the 17, a lot of the delays have gone away on the 17 and loop 101 in the north valley, that is slowing down. a closer look at that next. congress is facing a new

it's a traffic alert and breaking news after we have confirmed that a woman is dead after she was hit by a car at 69th avenue and camelback. so that intersection is closed. we confirmed with police it involves one vehicle and this investigation is just getting underway with hard closures, an immediately closure and they are shutting down the area to preserve the evidence. i wants to get over to our camelback road is closed from 67th to 70th to the closure, and bethany home will be a smart route. that's really the best option. but besides that, heavy delays on the 10 in the west valley and the 101 eastbound is slowing down. a live look from the adot camera. this is just coming off the 17th.

danielle. the fbi is looking into reports that somebody hacked the democratic party cell phones. they are talking about concerns that the phones were compromised and feds suspect that russian hackers are behind the attacks just as they are suspected by the breach of servers used by the democratic national committee. the hackers are trying to make a mess of election day with homeland security saying that two states have already suffered hacks. danielle, on the wildfire watch from abc15, more than 300 homes are in danger. these are images from last night and yesterday afternoon

active weather. a stray shower possible through this morning and through 8:00. as the day goes o -- on, will storms will expanned ex -- expand out to the east, and all in all, looking like a down day for the valley but we'll watch for the stray shower or thunderstorm. overnight tonight, the moisture increases with more showers and storms develop being across the state. we could wake up to a few showers and storms in the valley tomorrow, and look at how it is coverage has expanded through tomorrow with storms possible in the valley. the best potential will be in the higher terrain to the north and east. we could see a few storms before we dry out friday into the weekend. temperatures in the 70s and partly cloudy skies, but today, we'll warm into the 90s with a 10% chance for rain.

iris, the only crash, i-10 eastbound at 43rd. we are already seeing delays there, but it's slow, no longer blocking traffic. north valley driver, the 101 slowing down more so, and we are seeing a 16-minute desert drive time. this is from the 17 and that's where the heaviest of the delays begin. the drive will take you to the 51 but before cave creek, it eases up for you, glendale, crash that shut down camel become, closed between 57 and 71 and it will be for sometime. the smart routes, bethany home and bethany school. i think 59th could be a better option. we'll give you another look at the 10 and the delays next. a quick reminder that abc
