we have limited information right now from phoenix police. this all started as a traffic stop. the scene has cleared so we're taking you strait to the video. just before 3:00 this morning according to officers at the scene, we're told this started as a traffic stop. the officer who actually stopped this vehicle then noticed weapons in the side. several. not sure exactly how many yet. waiting for a public information officer to give us the information. the driver was taken away and detained. not sure what the charges are against him. we know he was taken away for questioning. phoenix police only being automobile to tell us this was a traffic stop in which they found several weapons inside the hummer.

news. keep us spoesed if you find anything else out. a tragic night for a mesa family after their home goes up in flames and one person did not make it out. firefighters told us when they arrived the home was fully engulfed. three people made it out and said a man was still inside near the back of the home. firefighters rushed to get him but it was too late. our neighborho, friends and we all try to help each other. i feel so sad this happened to them. >> reporter: firefighters investigating what exactly started this blez. 15 homes in chandler and dozen of family members evacuated after a gas leak. firefighters say they were called out for a shrub fire so they put it out but it kept reignited and they realized there was a gas leek.

calling his son's death a turning point in a struggle to change police practices. he spoke in front of hundreds of protests yesterday calling the officer who pulled the trigger a coward. a video of the shooting was released a few days after. his father wants to see the police chief resign. >> he's in heaven smiling down at us and he's asking his mom to be strong to forgive just like he would have. >> those heartbreaking words coming from the home year old boy shot and killed at an elementary school in south carolina. he died days after a 14 year old opened fire. a teacher and student are recovering this morning and the suspect remains behind bars on murder charges. friends and family gather for a candle light vigil to remember the 18 year old found in a buckeye canal so badly beaten. it took days for police to identify her.

harbor. humidity in the 30s, these are lower than they were 24 hours ago. wind speeds not that bad right now at phoenix sky harbor. current temperatures for most of us now in the mid to low 70s now. 74 in glendale and scottsdale and 72 in fountain hills and warmer in some spots, still hanging on into the 80s in chandler and goodyear as well. as we look at the valley wind spee m quiet now. if we're registering speeds we're about 5-10 miles per hour. those will start to increase and get stronger as we go through the rest of the day. overall not as hot. we'll see a slight rain chance and breezes start to kick up. this is how much. we could see sustained winds at 5-15 miles per hour and gusts at 20 miles per hour but look how much stronger up north, those winds sustaining up to 25

. three people say hey man was still inside near the back of the home. firefighters rushing in to help but unfortunately it was too late. >> our neighborhood we're all friends and we all try to help each other. i just felt so sad this happened to them. >> firefighters are investigating right now the cause of the blaze. also in the east valley, 15 homes evacuated and families spending the night in hotels after a gas leak near chandler. firefighters say they fire. they put it out and it kept reignited and they realized there was a gas leak. crews took action to get neighbors out. >> that's why we evaluate in case the gas migrates somewhere. it could be something as simple as somebody striking a match and lighting a cigarette with a lighter.

bicyclist dies after getting hit by a car. you may have seen the scene near arizona avenue around 7:30 yesterday morning. officers tell us the driver of a toyota became distracted before hitting the two bicyclist. students head back to class tomorrow and parents and kids on high alert after a man exposed himself to two young girls. mary ellen and the man police are looking for now. >> reporter: that's right, police are definitely asking for the public's help on this one. they want to catch this guy. he's in his 30s and rather thin build with a baseball cap last tuesday on with a backpack. he's 5 '11" and six feet tall. this happened near lawrence and 11th avenue.

year old student back in 2001. the girl said he had sex with her in a school bathroom and inside his car. he's been working at paradise valley high school since then but we know this morning he's on paid leave. the trial continues for the valley man accused of gunning down his own uncle at a car wash two years ago. he went to the car wash and shot his uncle and then sat under a tree until police got there. investigators haven't said what was. he faces first degree murder charge now. a trial date set for the apache junction man accused of hacking into websites in arizona and wisconsin. he was arrested last year and authorities say he's the bit coin barren and targeted sights in phoenix, mesa, chandler. he's also accused of carrying out a cyber attack in wisconsin three days after a police shooting. he has pleaded not guilty and his trial begins january 3rd.
