>> the system is all screwed up. >> reporter: this man reached out to abc 15 worried about a problem with the system. won't reveal his name but he has lived in the u.s. legally since the 80s. a few months ago he bet a buddy he could register to vote. he applied online using his true name, social security number and drivers license number. he said the only foxy checked inaccurately was legal us citizen. >> i was sitting in bed and voters card. >> reporter: we contacted the county recorder's office a few days later and investigators called him. >> he's like i'm shocked you got it. he also asked me if i was doing it to protest. i said if you want to call it a protest, it's more just trying to prove a point that you do not have to be a citizen and you can register. >> reporter: this man had no intention of voting. he said he wanted to expose the bigger problem with the system. katie conner, abc 15 news. >> the recorder's office says

thousands of people whose homes were damaged during last week's earthquakes are being able to get some of their stuff and see the damage. the magnitude 6.6 quake hit the central part of the country. amazingly, no one was killed. there were some injuries. many buildings including churches were badly damaged. a big scare overnight. a spirit airline flight had to be evacuated because of a possible bomb threat in fort lauderdale. you can see some of the people exiting the plane. they had police nearby. one of the passengers described the feeling as they waited three hours on the plane while investigated. >> they would let anybody off. people were threatening to get off the emergency exits. people were threatening to overtake the flight attendants. >> the plane was checked and cleared and the passengers were able to continue want to dallas. now to a second scare, and american airlines flight from los angeles to toronto had to be diverted to denver after the
