a link to that at kolo- tv-dot-com. ### a broken water pipe has kept pine middle school students from returning to class. now, aging floor tiles and sections of wall, have to be removed and replaced. since the older building has asbestos floor tiles - the project must be handled with care. that means students are out for two weeks. the chief facilities manager says, this is what happens when unexpected damage, pushes an aging school to the top of the repair list. the sheer size of this thing, we are working through a couple of shifts on this with different crews, and the amount of abatement that needs to go through just to build it back it part that is a lot of your problem. chris cobb-- the chief facilities management officer says repair and upkeep of existing buildings will only get more difficult. the last of the 2002 bond money will be spent this summer among five elementary schools and other projects in the district. ### . a last minute change in their medical insurance has left as many as 700 people in carson city

health care they expected. pam perondi of carson city says she signed up for coverage through the prominence medical plan expecting to continue seeing the same doctors she's seen for decades. but as the open enrollment period was closing, the company abruptly informed carson medical group it was cutting its compensation by a third. that left no time for negotiation, forcing the medical group to drop coverage through the company and leaving clients like pam perondi out in the cold. "my gynecologist is there. my family doctor is there. so, head this impacts me terribly." people like perondi must now search for new doctors and their choices are limited. there are just three family doctors in carson city still accepting the prominence medical plan. it's unclear if any are accepting new patients. if you're looking to be spontaneous on your next outing ... a local catering company is offering pop-up dinners with a twist. secret service catering

will the powerball insanity stop on tomorrow night? the jackpot is now up to 1-point-5 billion dollars. the odds of hitting the jackpot on a single ticket are one in 292- point-2 million. tommorow's drawing happens at 8 pm. nevada is one of only six states across the country that doesn't have a state lottery. with the jackpot now over a billion dollars... that's a lot of revenue the state is not receiving. last year.. california schools got nearly 150-million dollars from powerball. since nevada's statehood... lawmakers have at times tried to bring the lottery here but with no luck. one of the biggest opponents is the casinos. virginia valentine, nevada resorts assoc. virginia: it would be doing so in

understand the consequences of his actions. bowe bergdahl.. the soldier... who the obama administration controversially made a deal with the taliban for... went before a military judge this morning in north carolina. he faces charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. bergdahl disappeared from his military post in afghanistan in 2009... then kidnapped and held by the taliban for five years. he was released in a prisoner exchange for five guantanamo bay detainees in 2014. this morning's hearing comes before bergdahl's expected court-martial scheduled for early august. if convicted... he faces up to five years in prison for desertion and life in prison on the misbehavior charge. space-x has already executed a dramatic upright rocket landing. now the company is hoping for a repeat performance on the open ocean. c-e-o elon musk tweeted they're planning to launch this weekend and land on a droneship. space-x pulled off its first successful

falcon 9 rocket in december...three previous attempts failed. the private space flight company made its first attempt at a "droneship" landing in january 2015, but the rocket crashed into the ocean platform. during another attempt in april, the rocket landed vertically on the platform, but tipped over because of an engine malfunction. landing rockets upright is crucial to cutting the cost of space travel, since the rockets can be reused. it costs the federal government a pretty penny to make nickels and pennies. the government accountability office says it costs about one-point-seven cents to make the one-cent penny. and the cost to make the five-cent nickel? about eight cents. the government blames rising metal prices for the costs to mint the chump change. it will be up to lawmakers to decide if any changes should be made to u-s coins, including finding cheaper metals to make them. but there's no timeline for a decision ... and the u-s mint has yet to make any
