hillary's husband and former president bill clinton will be in reno tonight. he will be at the boys and girls club of truckee meadows at 7:30 tonight. thats located at 1300 foster drive. you do need to r-s-v-p. to do that just go to kolo-tv-dot-com, and click on hot topics. the nevada public utlities commission is expected to decide whether to 'grandfather' the older, higher rates to roof- top solar power customers who bought their systems years ago. commissioner david noble submitted a draft order calling for reconsideration of the so-called "grandfathering" issue. commissioners applied the rate-hike to future, and current customers using net metering -- the process of selling excess solar energy, back to the utility. right now, a lot of current customers are upset, saying they invested thousands of dollars into panels, based on previous rate calculations parents in nevada are faced with a decision to

because of the state's halted school choice program. the program was going to launch in february, but its still on hold. opponents argue the republican-backed program unconstitutionally diverts money from public schools. attorney general adam laxalt has filed a formal request that the nevada supreme court speed-up a decision so parents can move foward. the voucher-style program allows parents to claim more than 5-thousand- dollars in state per- pupil school funds each year, and use it for private school tuition or homeschooling. . enrollment in the nevada health insurance exchange, is topping numbers from last year. nearly 78-thousand people in nevada signed up for a plan, compared to last years enrollment, of 73- thousand. the current enrollment period began november first, and closes january 31st. the exchange is geared toward people who don't have coverage through the government, or an employer. a rising trend in infant deaths has washoe county officials urging parents to take a second look at how their children are sleeping. 7 babies have died in the last few months due to

the washoe county medical examiner's office says these deaths were due to infants co- sleeping with parents. they say parents need to remember the a-b-c's of infant sleeping... alone... on their backs... and in a crib. safe sleeping educators say it's also critical to inform others who may watch your child about these practices. "that's you're child, be your own advocate. let them know that's your child, you're sleeping them safely, and you'd liek for them to do the same thing. them, caring for them" some of the deaths are under investigation... but so far no criminal charges have been filed. a 2.5 million dollar project is underway on i-80 to help preserve the bridges between line. n-dot says its all for the safety and mobility of nevadans. during the preservation work you're going to see lane closures over the bridges near exits three and four while n- dot makes improvements. "so we at the nevada department of transportation are rehabing the concrete and steel surfaces of the columns of two bridges in the verdi area." meg ragonese with n- dot says the bridges are

internal investigation." to "determine if any disciplinary action will be taken, up to and including termination." a couple of consumer alerts to tell you about this morning. bri-tax child safety is recalling more than 71- thousand seats, because the handles can break, allowing the seat to fall unexpectedly. the recall covers three models, made from 2014 to 2015. bri-tax says it has received 74 complaints. if you have one of these car seats, bri-tax will send you a repair kit with a reinforcing bracket for the handle. and "mahina mele farms" is recalling these macadamia nuts because they could potentially be contaminated with salmonella. they were sold in stores in several states including california between october 21st and november 25th of last year. you can return the nuts to the store where you bought them for a full refund. the death of eagles star glenn frey stunned the music world but did anti- inflammatory medication

new questions emerging about the death of eagles star glenn frey. frey suffered from debilitating rheumatoid arthritis for years. now his manager reportedly believes the musician died in part because of medication he took for it. abc's david wright has

script: nats take it easy, take it easy? for rock legend glenn frey, it was tough to take it easy? later in life? because of his 15 year battle with rheumatoid arthritis. and, this morning, there are new questions about the precise cause of his death grfx1 http://www.eagles.com/splash the eagles website says frey died from complications of r-a?. along with "acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia." the band's manager tells "the wrap" he believes those complications "?were side effects from all the meds," he used to treat his disease. dr. beth jonas these medications fall into a class we call biologic therapies and they act by suppressing the immune system...it may increase the risk for infection. grfx2

americans suffer from rheumatoid arthritis chronic inflammation that occurs when the body's immune system attacks the joints. it usually starts in the hands and feet but can progress through other parts of the body. resulting in swollen joints? tender joints? and stiffness that can last for hours. grfx3 as frey's manager described: "one day his knees would hurt, his hands hurt"... saying the disease moved "from joint to joint." there is no cure for r.a? and, doctors say, some of the most effective treatments can increase the risk of infection dr. beth jonas so if you have ra and you're on a medication that suppresses your immune system... a mild infection could turn into a serious infection if it's not caught early. we may never know for sure if the drugs frey was taking allowed him to "take it to the limit" - or shortened his lifespan - or both. nats either way his friends and his fans will miss him. david wright abc news
