because of the state's halted school choice program. the program was going to launch in february, but its still on hold. opponents argue the republican-backed program unconstitutionally diverts money from public schools. attorney general adam laxalt has filed a formal request that the nevada supreme court speed-up a decision so parents can move foward. the voucher-style program allows parents to claim more than 5-thousand- dollars in state per- pupil school funds each year, and use it for private school tuition or homeschooling. . enrollment in the nevada health insurance exchange, is topping numbers from last year. nearly 78-thousand people in nevada signed up for a plan, compared to last years enrollment, of 73- thousand. the current enrollment period began november first, and closes january 31st. the exchange is geared toward people who don't have coverage through the government, or an employer. a rising trend in infant deaths has washoe county officials urging parents to take a second look at how their children are sleeping. 7 babies have died in the last few months due to

the washoe county medical examiner's office says these deaths were due to infants co- sleeping with parents. they say parents need to remember the a-b-c's of infant sleeping... alone... on their backs... and in a crib. safe sleeping educators say it's also critical to inform others who may watch your child about these practices. "that's you're child, be your own advocate. let them know that's your child, you're sleeping them safely, and you'd liek for them to do the same thing. them, caring for them" some of the deaths are under investigation... but so far no criminal charges have been filed. a 2.5 million dollar project is underway on i-80 to help preserve the bridges between line. n-dot says its all for the safety and mobility of nevadans. during the preservation work you're going to see lane closures over the bridges near exits three and four while n- dot makes improvements.
