sheriff of metropolitan phoenix. joe arpaio is accused of continuing to enforce civil immigration laws in defiance of a federal court order. a conviction could mean six months in jail for the 84-year-old sheriff. national public radio reports that 2016 will be the deadliest year ever for migrants crossing the mediterranean. the u.n. says more than 3,700 people have died this year trying to reach that is nearly as many all in 2015. among those sailing from libya to italy, one death is reported for every 47 who make it. courier journal of louisville shows the ark is flooded with visitors. officials of ark encounter in kentucky says the biblical theme park has attracted 400,000 people since it opened in july. one of them was bill nye, the science guy, who says every

reported lower quarterly sales. its first annual revenue decline in 15 years. apple stock dropped 2%. apple sold fewer iphones and said it miscalculated the demand for its biggest smartphone, the iphone 7 plus. apple says it's not sure it can make enough units in time for christmas and may also hurt holiday sales. at&t is launching an internet tv service next month. the now will cost $35 a month undercutting most cable companies and include tnt, tbs and fox and nbc universal. first through internet connection but eventually on 5g wi-fi. if you own a volkswagen, you may be able to sell your car back to the automaker as early as next week. a federal judge approved the settlement to get the cars off the road.

trying to get into the u.s. before november 8th. >> reporter: every day, dozens of men, women, and children stream through the streets of mcallen, texas, to this migrant center at sacred heart catholic church. they have just illegally crossed into the u.s. and have been released by border patrol with ankle monitors, while they file for asylum. this woman fled honduras. single mother looking for work. and also to flee the violence in honduras. >> true. >> we are getting mass turning crossing the border and turning themselves in. >> reporter: this agent is with the local border patrol union. he says on sundays, they have encountered a thousand immigrants along the border.
