some people complain that the new lights, way too bright, and a new study suggests they may effect your help health. officials say the leds are 50% more energy efficient. it's going to save the city $3 million a year. 6:36 now, flu season is here. as you know, a lot of people have mixed feelings about getting vaccinated. there are plenty of myths out there as well. what do doctors say about it. jen wall is live with information this morning that >> reporter: good morning to you guys. so flu season typically starts to peek in december. and i've been talking this morning with dr. janice johnston about the symptoms. so basically, doctors say you feel like you get hit by a truck. you feel achey. you have a headache, and you just really don't feel like doing anything at all. our awesome photographer nick who you met yesterday through our life shots is going to join us this morning and get a flu shot for the first time.

6:38 am
there's various places that you can get your flu vaccines. i would recommend if you have a serious egg allergy, you do it in a doctor's office where they can watch you after words. >> finally, can we talk about the myths very quickly, do you get sick? do you get the flu? does your immunity go down after you get the shot? >> no. >> so basically it's a all just bunk and myth. you're not going to get sick from getting a flu shot at all. >> thank you. we really appreciate all of the information guys. the best time to get the shot is before the end of this month. you can get e may. but you can get it at any time. live in scottsdale, jen wall, 12 today. thank you. 6:38 is the time. let's talk morning juice with emma. this is surprising. not everyone is coming to the defense of kim kardashian. maybe that's not surprising. but the person who is actually not expressing a lot of sympathy, no sympathy for kim k over the jewelry heist, in an interview, he blamed kim for posting images of her $4.5
6:39 am
saying quote, you can not display your wealth and then be surprised that some people want to share it with you. he made his comments despite his supposedly close relationship with kim and her husband kanye who were photographed with the designer in a september issue of harper's bizarre. he called the whole ordeal a very bad thing for paris. interesting. well speaking of kanye, remember the show during new york fashion week. in case you missed it, one models were fainting. they could barely walk in the poor fitting shoes. kanye had a complete melt down after the show and fired his entire staff. the report claims he sent his agent to do his dirty work giving 30 people a pink slip. reviews of the show, not so good. some words used by critics to describe it were hot mess and
6:40 am
that made him famous in the first place. let's get to your juicy question of the morning and your answer. 70% of people who have this exercise on a regular basis. besides exercise, this could make you a happier person. we want to know what it is. i'm going back to your first guess, which is having the significant other. >> not the food scale. >> not the food scale. >> not after that last one. i don't know that it would make people a lot happier. >> a >> i totally see that. >> i'm surprised you don't have a dog, matt. >> it's the hours. >> i have to give my dog a chip so i can work out in piece because they want to bite my ankles and play. >> but you have small dogs. >> i'm dancing. they want to do their version of dancing with me. >> i did a big walk last night
6:41 am
havalinas. we walked the other way and then we ran into a coyote. >> your french bulldog. >> he snores at night. plenty of memorable moments from last night's presidential debate. including an unforgettable comment about immigration. plus what arizona voters thought about their choices. hey everyone, it's wednesday, looking gorgeous, 6:41 is our time. a beautiful fall into the forecast.
6:44 am
now to decision 2016. the first and last presidential debate was held last night. attempting to tie him to donald trump's state your names about women, foreign policy, and a key issue in arizona, immigration. >> look, he's not a polished politician like you and hillary clinton. >> -- can i say a great line from the gospel, from the fullness of the heart, the mouth speaks. when donald trump says women should be punished or mexicans
6:45 am
showing you who he is. >> you whipped out that mexican thing again. look -- >> can you defend it. >> there are criminal aliens who have come into this country illegally who are perpetuating violence. he also said and many of them are good people. you keep leaving that out of your quote. if you want me to go there i'll go there. >> just one of many moments from last night. and after words we invited watch that debate here at 12 news. some republicans and some democrats. at the end mark curtis asked this question, what if something happened to the president who would you rather have in the white house? tim kaine? or mike pence? >> i'm found a new appreciation for tim kaine. >> i want you to know that we need to operate under wise
6:46 am
that doesn't mean that we're not strong. because right now, we could be small but we can do more these days with less. >> for me it's important to watch this debate. to get to know them a little bit more. i'm very proud of tim kaine. i think he's very good for the position. and should the unthinkable happen, he should carry on. >> okay. i like governor tim kaine's response. listening to pence was like duck you know. it sounded like a used car salesman. i wrote down the questions that were asked and waited for an answer and it went flying off into outer space. we have to work with our allies, okay. you can't go around bullying people. and from pence's response, they just want to be bully's. >> i was texting a friend, he's a hard core hillary supporter. we were joking about how the republican wears a blue tie and
6:47 am
one thing we agreed on is that governor pence was much softer tonight than senator tim kaine. when they were talking about the police involved shootings and some of the tragedies that have gone on, senator tim kaine was very cold and calculated. he talked about it like he was going to read about it in a book and governor pence came across as someone who's held executive office. i know senator has as well. but he's been in politics i think he lost sight of the about people. in the tragedy of mourning loss of a president we want someone with compassion to take over. >> the one thing about tim kaine, his appeal to me, almost to the point of going over board though is his soft side. he appears to have a compassion and a passion about doing things. so that does appeal to me. because it's not some hardened, on the edge politician. my mother taught me one thing.
6:48 am
truth and shame the devil. i heard a lot of lying. bill clinton banned partial birth abortion, if you remember. during his term. hillary has never been in favor of partial birth abortion. so that really got me heated up. the last time i looked, and correct me if i'm wrong, but our military cost us approximately 80% of the budget of the united states. how much more do you want build it? >> let's get you up to speed on traffic. at 6:48. we have a stumbling block, 17 southbound. just before thunder bird here. you can see emergency crews and pieces to the puzzle of that crash there are blocking the hov and left lane. we're all ready seeing delays. another crash here, inbound grand avenue. it's passed 35th avenue. we have stop and go here stretching more than a mile. you can use 43rd.
6:49 am
your choice, thomas, mcdowell, i-10, whatever you need to go from point a to point b. zooming out. we have a lot of big time slow downs here. wherever you see the red, we're talking speeds dropping into the 20s and teens here. still dealing with big time delays on the 60 because of a crash that's been moved off to the side now at dobson for sometime. but the after math being felt all the way to valvista. stop and go thanks to rush hour on the ten west and east the 101 eastbound. 10 westbound. let's break this down, 26 minutes from queen creek to downtown. not too bad. the 202. still the best option instead of the 60. you can see maybe modest slowing on the 202 red mountain. 101 eastbound right now. 34 minutes from 75th avenue to scottsdale road. 51 southbound, an 18 minute ride. jimmy? happy wednesday to you everyone and else out there.
