that's where matt is now. good morning matt. reporter: good morning. that is what it's all about, taking steps toward college because get this, of 100, ninth grader, only nine of them will graduate college. this event is to help that number rise. they just opened the gates here. for all of these students to come through, talk to the different colleges. its a great event but this event is for absolutely all ages, including if you're in i've got two participants here really loud, tell me your name. >> my name is cynthia and i want to be a teacher. >> we need more teachers. >> i want to be an engineer and design more bikes and dirt bikes and my name is sergio. reporter: so we have a teacher, an engineer right here. they're going to learn everything they need to know about college to be successful. that's what is so great about

and two female companions without permission. she says later trump or someone calling on his behalf called and offered her $10,000 to return. as hillary clinton continues to deal with leaked emails, her campaign is focusing on millennials and minority voters in arizona which has become a crucial battleground state. according to a boston interview, governor jan brewer doesn't think arizona's latino population will vote. >> jan brewer believing that the latino voter turnout is going to be depressed and that's how her candidate is going to win elections. i think she's going to be sadly surprised. >> she may have had some reason to say that and maybe they don't show up. >> bill clinton is the only

helping make a difference by getting people interested and helping them find out information about college. reporter: that is what it's all about, getting people information. this is taking steps towards college success but on by the be a leader foundation. i'm here with melissa, the cofounder of the be a leader foundation. let's talk about the be a leader foundation, what is it? >> thank you so much. we appreciate you guys b o be a leader foundation was started so we can help prepare the city's kids for the future. we want to make sure all students are college bound, focused and prepared. we do that through workshops. we have clubs throughout the town. this event specifically has to do with bringing information out to the masses to make sure that they get enough information about scholarships, other non profits that have

offer families and students stuff, and all instate universities are here. >> we were talking earlier that only 9% of 9th graders will go to college. what would you tell the people that can't make it here, what is the one thing they should do to get to college? >> it's really important for the economic future of our city and our country to get some sort of post secondary education. statistics of all jobs are going to require some form of post secondary education whether that be a 2- year college, 4-year college or certification program so it's important to further your education past high school in some form if you want to be aable to raise a family and make a living range. it's really important to find out what you're passionate about and just go for it. the only barrier is yourself. you've got to go for it.

got to fight for itment it's nice to see the kids down here. they're getting excited about what they want to do, you can come down here and find your passion. the weather, perfect. look at the temperatures around the valley. we're sitting in the 70s in many locations, 68 in gilbert. things will be changing later on today. you can see clouds starting to work their way into the western side of the state. those will continue to increase because we have a weather disturbance that is towards the valley. that's why we are putting a slight chance of rain in the forecast for later on today but it's not going to impact your game day forecast. if you're going tailgating, 92 degrees, by kickoff, drop that to 89. by the drive home, you may see a few sprinkles. the big change comes in tomorrow. you can see that on the seven- day forecast, in fact, a 50% chance of rain for

[inaudible] >> >> i support it. >> starting fall of 2017, a new rule would all but eliminate on campus housing for juniors and seniors at nau. for freshman like morgan and taylor, the change isn't a bad thing. >> obviously freshmen and sophomore kind of have so live here. as you go out, it's cheaper to schools, the new rule would be unique, especially despite multiple new housing construction projects on campus. at u of a students are guaranteed housing regardless of class rank. for nau junior like connor reeves, living off campus has benefits. >> i can save money. i mean like there's

than living on campus. >> it's easier meeting people living on campus, making new connections on campus, so being a senior, that is a little unfair but by then, i feel like you should have made those connections by the time you get to be a junior or senior. >> my plan is to become an ra so i can still live on campus. >> coming up, how to save money
