with the death of the group's spokesperson. it ended in the arrest of ammon bundy. bundy's lawyers held a news conference today, read a prepared statement from bundy urging the remaining members to peacefully turn themselves in. she says the situation is the result of decades of federal overreach. >> michelle is going to go to washington, d.c. and look at the laws that are in place already and amend them to put consequences in place. >> bundy says he plans to now use the courts to raise awareness over the fight between some western ranchers and the federal government. nevada man's du ooishgs conviction has been overturned, but his case is drawing attention to dui laws. he was arrested last sumner kars carson city. security guards found him asleep in his car, parked on the street with the engine running.

got into the competition. >> being a barista is a true craft. john french and chris garrison will have to prove it. they're going to the u.s. coffee championship next week in kansas city. >> the first round is in kansas and it's a qualifying round much the top 50 competitors from the west coast and the top 50 from the east coast are doing one round in kansas and then the top 36 in the country in atlanta in april. >> john and chris are speeting in two separate competition. the brewer's cup deals with specifically brewing a certain type of coffee. john competing in the barista championship. >> i'm going to be preparing two he is spres owes in ten minutes. >> the judge looks at taste and presentation. >> you're judged on professionalism, content of what you say. you're judged on how efficiently

it's at a pretty high elevation above 8,000 feet, but there is snow on the west side of the lake. there is the north star, mount pluto cam. it is a mess, rain/snow mix. the snow level very high. squaw valley damp, not the best day for skiing with this weird weather. you can find this graphic on the reno national weather service website. there is a lot to read, but get the gist. anyone with travel plans friday and sunday should have a plan b or perhaps no plan at all and just don't go. the snow levels start off relatively high, drop to possibly 5,000 feet and one to three feet of snow is a possibility over 8,000 feet. so take your chains, drive carefully. you know what to do if you a four-wheel drive. rain/snow mix, not much happening. the plume of moisture is heading our way and we'll start to feel

tomorrow night and through saturday and a piece of sunday. high wind watch, meaning a warning is on the way, likely. then the winter storm warning starts tomorrow afternoon and runs through saturday. it's going to be very, very interesting over the passes, all passes. 57 was the high today. very warm. 47 is the average. we'll probably top 60 tomorrow in many spots. 64 now. winds south at around 12. gusting to around 20 miles per hour in town and higher. 35 to 37 for south lake and truckee and that's not too bad. there it is, 35 at south lake. still above freezing. and we'll be kind of a mix of temperatures like that overnight. wind speeds are strong from the south, around 15 area wide. they'll be picking up. future clouds and radar we'll get you to maybe the morning hours of friday. the rain stays west of reno, but as we advance into the afternoon

then it turns to snow overnight. saturday night at 1 in the morning into saturday morning and maybe that's a good indication of snow on the valley floor here. that happens very early. it's still dark. we see clouds late r in the afternoon and maybe a return chance of snow late in the day. saturday is going to be interesting. sunday could be just as interesting. 35 will be our low tonight. not as cold and then tomorrow 60, rain late in the afternoon. overnight lows, some places going below freezing, but not a lot as we stay above the high of 40. they've been single digits in the morning lately, they'll cool off into the afternoon as well. fall on 42, bridgeport 30. some places hitting 60 to 62. like dayton. how about fernley. you guys might hit 65 around. around the lake tion rain/snow mix with gusty winds. high in truckee 50. most locations mid- mid to upper 40s. the cold air slides in on saturday.

so it just clicked one time. i just started writing jokes and you know the discipline from the military kind of helped me in my career in standup. it's a good switch. being in the marines, i've gone to afghanistan four times now and entertained the troops. . this is what happens when you get out of the marine corps or stay in the navy. >> oh, no. that was a low blow. >> come on, navy guys know i'm kidding. >> you do a lot of standup tore veterans around, just to kind of give back a little bit. i'm sure that's kind of enjoyable for you. >> yeah. always looked up to bob hope. i think it's powerful to give back. we do vfw and on our flight to washington, d.c., we toured all the monuments and i was assigned a 92-year-old veteran that was in better shape than i was.
