the major commute >>: sapphire. -just that fire. the first five alarm fire in san francisco has seen in years is still causing problems this morning. this is video from a helicopter partnership with abc seven news. a condominium building under construction near a-t and t park went up in flames just before five o'clock yesterday evening. and burned for several hours. let's go live to where the fire is still burning this morning. at 4th street and mission bay. kron four's will tran is at the scene, will? >>will: right now you don't see any flames because right now the court is the issue. we'll show you the chart on the left side of your screen. but, when the it is right now. every time and

the firefighters a blaze of water onto the building. as you can see it as soon as the water leaves the halls it just turns into mist. we will couches the latter's three from the left to the right there's one to and i can't tell you this on the side. for on the corner. five on the other side of the truck and that's just this location. i'm sure there were very more even more spray water and the reason why is they want to make sure that the hot spots are out just to give investigators a chance to go inside the building later on to find out the cause of the fire. here is video we got right after this started. we do know that construction crews a raft of the day off 4:00 in the afternoon. some of the more on the scene to talk to investigators when they got out here. the cause obviously is not the guns are right now. this one to make sure the numbers don't cause any fires to the

surrounding buildings. when they got here, not only did they sprayed millions of gallons of water on to the structure itself. we're talking a 360 unit apartment apartment complex that should have been done by the end of the year. they put up a curtain of water to the buildings nearby to make sure they did not catch on fire. it worked for the most part there was a building next door that got so hot that some of the windows melted. in fact the sprinkles in some of those buildings went off. that along with the fire right next door caused people to be evacuated. fortunately no one was injured. and reports of anyone even suffering from smoke inhalation. it is extremely busy with all of the vehicles coming and going. lockdown at this location. the firefighters are here walking around just to make sure the member does it cause problems to this location. let me take you back on what george rask said a little bit earlier about traffic. you're looking straight down for

facebook headquarters in menlo park will be back to business as usual this morning. but it was a different story last night. employees were evacuated around 7-15 after menlo park police received a threat report of a possible threat to the campus from san francisco police. >>: i saw the first crack and i got motivated and i heard the second and the third and then it started like a spider web. i throughout my luggage and the hallway and ran down the stairs. it's terrifying frightening. i'm glad i was home and my dog is ok because that was really lucky. >>: fire crews tell us that some of the heat from the fire also caused some of the sprinkler systems to go off inside the apartment. some of the residents were allowed timberlake back and

welcome back our coverage continues on the mission bay fire near at&t park 3 here's what's happening right now. reports of steel and the building and warping due to the heat. firefighters continued to pour water on the building. the extreme heat is putting the building in danger of collapsing in fact one firefighter was burned because of the intense heat. it's also shattering nearby buildings. some of the homes have water damage because the fire's heat triggers sprinkling systems and the neighboring buildings. everyone is encouraged of avoiding the area of china basin and

fourth streets. george raft is tracking a hot spot. let's check in with him. >>george: you won't be able to get through on fourth street this morning because there are three closures and connection with the fire and its fourth street that is shut down between channel at the north and which is right at the edge and of the forestry bridge suffered travel down to the north bay. fourth street completely closed. third street is open this morning but there is a lot of police presence there. >>: tracking your ride throughout the bay area earlier this morning we had an accident on the sky way out of the traffic lanes in now. we're getting more with the westbound commute from hercules to berkeley where the drive time is climbing to 16 to 17 minutes. starting to pick up a little slowing out of walnut creek but the san ramon valley ride at 18 minutes still looks good. south bay freeways are problem free but a congestion. but some

mike what can you tell us about those who had to evacuate the area? we want to show you what this fire looked like as it was happening. these are up-close shots from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. people who live and work a short distance away. this is what they were looking at. you begin to understand why people talked about being absolutely terrified. they were watching the flames move quickly through the condo project. these are scenes from the height of the fire.

this complex is so big, it takes up much of a city block. because it was under construction, the "fire stops" had not been built yet. to keep the fire from spreading between units. then parts of the complex began to collapse. luckily, it mostly collapsed in on itself, not out toward firefighters. this is what has become of "mission bay 360." the project was to feature retail space and 360-condos. priced at 630-thousand dollars. it was on track to open by the end of the year. not anymore. keep it tuned here to kron four for the latest information on the fire that continues to burn.

welcome back to the kron4 morning news. in new jersey-- a man is facing charges after police say his two-year-old son was found carrying packets of heroin at a child care center. according to officers, a mccaw teacher at michael's energy factory in paterson found 48 small envelopes of heroin in the boy's jacket on monday. police don't believe the child even knew the drugs were there. the boy's father, phillip young, is now charged with endangering the welfare of a child. his bail was set at 85- thousand dollars. >>darya:the so-called "octomom" says she did not
