months to try to find what i'm going to do. like what is it exactly that i should do? >> reporter: angela is one of 60,000 maricopa residents receiving the same letter all purchased individual blue cross blue shield plans under the affordable care act. come january, their only insurance option is a company called sen teen. >> they were promised they could happening. >> reporter: he doesn't expect a price surge but says the cost could be prohibitive. >> some of these people, their house payments are less than what the health care is. >> reporter: martin says those receiving the letters have four choices, one, enroll in sen teen's health plan. two, enroll in a group plan through your company. independent contractors can try

three, enroll in a short term medical plan or a limited benefit plan. these plans don't cover preexisting conditions or prescriptions. four, go without health insurance and pay the penalty tax. >> people are going to be scrambling. they are not going to know what to do and this is the government that is doing this. >> reporter: if you enrolled in an individual blue cross or blue shield plan before 2014, don't worry you grandfathered in and you can keep your current coverage. if you currently have an individual or family plan outside of maricopa county, get this, you can still keep blue cross blue shield but with a 51% premium increase. open enrollment begins december 1 and february 1. we will continue to cover it and give you more details over the

i'm kristy siefkin, fox 10 news. care at the phoenix v.a. hospital is not getting better. it may be getting worse. according to a new report from the inspector general, veterans are still dying while awaiting care at the v.a. hospital. the v.a. hospital was at the center of a scandal over long wait time, secret waiting lists that contributed to dozens of veterans dying whilewa care. many of the same problems continue to plague the v.a. right now and may have contributedded to the death of at least one veteran. the phoenix v.a. released a statement responding to this report, though we have made progress, there is more work to be done. our health care system director is uniquely suited to build upon

along. it is still a category four hurricane. the winds have died down a little bit here at 130 miles an hour but look by thursday, they expect those winds to be exactly the same. you can see the track and how close it will come to miami. also, you can see here. this is thursday late in the day so it will be moving along very, very slowly. a slow-moving hurricane that has a lot of power and moisture can be a that is why they are preparing for rain throughout this entire area. also, they are preparing for rain in the outer banks of the carolinas that is where they expect the hurricane to cross over the top of that is going to be a real significant part of this entire storm right here, especially if the storm surge stays at 10 feet. if they continue to get 8-15 inches of rain. we'll have more with big storms

governor doug ducey has made it a priority... to figure out a way to test rape kits more quickly in arizona. and now... more than governor ducey has made it his priority to test untested rape kits in arizona. the department of justice gave phoenix police $1.5 million and the attorney's office $1.2 million to test rape kits. there are 2,000 untested kits in the county but the county attorney says there has been progress. last year's grant of nearly $2 million helped his office test 6,000 kits and indict two people. >> this confirms our suspicions
