family members set up a fundraising page to help raise money for the funeral expenses. reporting live, i'm nicole garcia, fox 10 news. in tucson, a 2-year-old gets his hands on a gun and accidently shoots his mom in the arm. the gun was not locked and left unattended. mom was shot while trying to grab the gun from the boy. she is expected to casa grande police arrest a man in connection to a shooting over the weekend. police say there was a fight at a local pub when the 34-year-old victim was shot. detectives say hampton is responsible and expected to be charged with second-degree murder. happening now, tensions are running high in the race for president. the republican party headquarters in phoenix evacuated this afternoon because of a bomb threat. this threat, one day after a

danielle miller is live on the scene with an update. >> reporter: marc, police on scene investigating what led up to this bomb threat out here. they are combing through the building here. we are at 24th street and osborn where the headquarters is. they are searching the roof for potential threats. all of the republicans here at the headquarters are out safely. the ofce 3:15 this afternoon. it was an adult who said there was a bomb in the building left on a voice mail. not taking any chances, they called police right away to come out here and investigate this. he is telling us there are 30 employees who had to be evacuated at this time. nearly 50 people had to be rerouted to other locations to continue what they are doing out here. he is telling us the work that they are doing out here has been

he says it is just giving them motivation to do more to make up for this ground. as i mentioned, no chances are being taken, especially after what we saw in north carolina where a boltle filled with flammable liquid thrown through the window of the republican party headquarters. we hope nobody gets injured at the time. all 30 employees have gotten out safe any chances, especially with the political tension. robert graham says things like this motivate to continue in their mission and continue what they are trying to do to make up for the loss ground. they are hoping to get in the building soon and we'll bring you updates as they become available. danielle miller, fox 10 news. a massive fire at a gilbert apartment complex on saturday is still under investigation. fire investigators trying to figure out what started the

construction. several people were forced out as crews battled this. they were allowed back in yesterday morning. scottsdale man behind a shooting at a convenience store at hayden and mckellips, which is on tribal land. they believe juan burns killed the victim. burns was booked on one count of murder. classroom in glendale today. challenger and landmark middle school had to be closed for a month because of structural damage to the buildings. students have spent time being bussed to other schools in the districts while the repairs can be completed. a charter school is not making the grade. the school in show low is on the brink of closing unless the

sheriff should be charged with criminal contempt of court. andrew hasbun has the story. >> reporter: we are now one step closer to learning what may have happened in the contempt of court case against sheriff joe arpaio. this dates back to 2011 and a court ruling that essentially told sheriff joe arpaio to stop enforcing federal immigration law. he is accused of violating the order and looking at contempt of court charges. a new judge has the case and the judge ordered the attorneys to file a show of cause. we learned what they are going to claim against chef chef. they say that sheriff joe arpaio caused mcso to detain persons that the mcso believed to be in the country without authorization but against whom mcso had no state charges. they went on to say there is extensive evidence demonstrating that sheriff joe arpaio

decided not to comply with the judge's order that is the key, he intentionally did not comply. his attorneys said he did not doing the intentionally. they were supposed to get their response in by 5:00 today and we are working to see what they have to stay in this case. right now, the trial is set for december 6. i'm andrew hasbun, fox 10 news. arrests were down this the drinking party going on in flagstaff. only five people arrested compared to 41 last year. northern arizona university's homecoming parade and football game were on saturday. bright and early so the partym.- could get started and it did. believe me, it did. all five arrests were made near the university.

the nice, big full moon out there. you can see the hunter's moon. 67 decision overnight. 66 last night. 91 yesterday afternoon. we're running a little bit above it but not as high as the record high for the day, 102 degrees. 42 decision on the record low for the day as well. looking at the forecast highs, there we go. we're jumping up we're jumping down to 88 degrees, which this time of year is the seasonal norm. you see 89's in there as well. other numbers will be 77 in sedona. 65 in flagstaff. 75 is what we're forecasting in prescott. get down in the deserts and the 91's are prominent. 92 in tucson. as we look across the country, it is a mixed bag. we have rain, wind, snow and

winds, some snow and a lot of rain coming down in the northwest. other areas you can see, salt lake city, rain turning into snow. thunderstorms earlier in the day. thunder and snow and showers mixing it up across areas of the great lakes. we are wondering what is this down here? let's take a look on the futurecast. it has a little wind to it. a little twist to it. they are keeping an eye on this. this h a just a little concerned with at this time. more moisture that coming up into the northwest as you can see. not a lot but some areas picking up a fairly good amount. overnight, 64 degrees. warming a little after we hit the seasonal norm of 88 degrees. you will see 91 and 95 and we stick with the mid 90's. watch your kids around water.

tonight. reporter: these little mixed boxers had a rough start to life. the arizona humane society got a tip that the family of dogs were severely neglected. >> i thought some of the puppies would have died within 24 hours. >> reporter: a medical technician took both adult boxers and the five 10--week-old puppies to the animal trauma center where theyav and diagnosed them with tick fever. >> they were so tick infested that it shook staff up. >> reporter: they were in murky water and left a large steal bucket of food out. >> there is a crack in the bucket and some of the kibble was on the dirt and the puppies were eating the kibble on the dirt. you don't want them ingesting dirt at all because it clogs their system. >> reporter: thankfully, today

company taking a different approach to dating. this japanese match maiming company is taking the pressure off of speed dating. participants are required to wear the mask to seal most of their face allowing them to focus on personality more and appearance less. some agreed with the masks saying it kept the germs out and eased nerves. if y clown mask for halloween, you won't be finding any at target. the retailer suspending the sale of clown masks at the stores and website because of the recent incidents involving the creepy clowns across the country. the company says they are removing the masks because of what they call sensitivity for the issue. clown masks sales have been soaring since this summer.
