from democrat paul penzone. both candidates appearing on our morning show this morning. paul penzone tells us it's time for a change, but sheriff arpaio says he has something penzone doesn't. >> i think i have the experience, look at my experience around the world. this is dangerous times. we have terrorism. where do you think that emanates from? the middle east, mexico. who worked there too, the sheriff did, sheriff. >> my opponent on many occasions will just talk about putting people in their place and it is not his job to monitor them anymore. i completely disagree. you provide them oversight to ensure that you know what's going on in your organization. >> polls indicate that this may be the tightest race that arpaio has faced since he became sheriff. >> and one of the reasons maybe is because sheriff arpaio is a step closer to possibly facing criminal contempt charges.

an order showing why arpaio should be charged with criminal contempt, saying that they have extensive evidence that he continually violated a judge's order by continuing immigration sweeps when he was ordered to stop them. a bizarre story, police stay 53-year-old benjamin wigginses threw lighter fluid on his girlfriend and tried to set fire to them. she was not seriously hurt. police say some of her stuff as well. this all came after he allegedly threw a beer can at her face. he faces several charges, including arson. a father sadly shot his own two daughters before killing himself. today police identified the father. 36-year-old jerad arismendez.

crash this morning that shut down a busy direction intersection. four cars collided at 43rd avenue and van buren. you are looking at the mangled mess right here. two of the six who were hurt were rushed to the hospital in serious condition. one of them had to be cut out of their car using the jaws of life. >> a highway up in northwestern arizona closed after a crash involving a semi-truck full of hogs. the semi was hauling 172 of them slammed into a barrier, and you can see some of the hogs there off to the side of the we are told a few of them killed, many escaped, some passing drivers even rushed in to corral them. today we learned how much of an increase social security recipients will be getting in their next checks. they will probably want to go on a spending spree. the arizona cardinals take on the jets, and the game, it's a blowout. >> yeah, in a good way. >> and we have sunshine, lots of

right now. look for lots more of that sun, and again temperatures steady for now but they are going to be building as we work our way on into about thursday and friday. but here's the way that we stand at the moment, 77 in globe, man it's perfect in show low, 68 degrees there. window rock looks gorgeous as well at 69. 62 in flagstaff, and again, numbers are looking pretty normal. tomorrow morning now going to be a cool one, especially in the high we bottomed out in mid-40s in flagstaff today, maybe low 30s tomorrow. indian summer on the way for the midwest, 81 degrees in st. louis now, mid-80s in memphis, even in chicago it's 73, 73 in mid october, that's a pretty good number for the windy city. cool air though still trying to spill in across the northern rockies, but even see those numbers are still pretty good. you get into the 50s in montana in october, that's doing pretty well. as far as big weather goes, there's just not much of it.
