it started as a fire so people rushed to the scene. the emergency crews. when they got inside that house, they found an entire family had been zip tied and lit on fire. apparently they had also been stabbed here too. mario and angelica jimines were stabbed to death. they succumb from the injuries suffered by the fire after set on fire. apparently this is a mexican drug deal gone bad. somebody had been given 80,000 to $100,000 in drugs. those drugs were later seized by federal authority and as a result the man couldn't pay back his debt so he struck first. this is all according to local police. those three men accused of this heinous crime are going to be in a local courtroom this morning. we're going to see their faces

>> kim: whenever there's a cartel situation in las vegas, it makes the news. live from rio continues this morning with 6:05 with chloe beardsley. chloe, we've already had michael live on the show. right now you're featuring a gymnast from the state of nevada. >> reporter: that's right. jacob from northern nevada neck this time around, he's just happy to have been able to come to the olympics again. and he credit most of his success to his parents and his wife. now, he started training for the olympics very early on as a very young boy. he did most of his training in northern nevada when he was about 9 years old. his parents actually bought a gym and started running it out of the sparks area. he competed over the weekend.

the floor exercise. the team all around finished in fifth place and jake got sixth in the men's floor exercise. but, like i said, he told me he's very thankful for the fans continuing to support him throughout his journey. >> to be with these guys, you would almost pick everything. it's hard to do. high pressure situations staying on my feet. but just a little too happy. >> even after a little disappointing finish, they're always supportive. there's always si thanking us. never anything negative. that's what i love about them. >> reporter: and jake said he's especially grateful for his followers on instagram. he has over 314,000 followers on twitter. nearly 80,000 people followed the olympic and world medalist. and after the olympics, jake plans to do a post olympics tour for the fans. and after that, he's going to keep training. he's hoping to be back at the next olympics.

las vegas. it could have major impact on your child's education. michele joins us live with the details on this one. >>reporter: a massive plan to reorganize the school district. it was met last week with criticism. for the first time, we heard from the biggest decision makers. that's the school board members of the plan would essentially flip the school district model on to its head and make a lot of changes. principals, teachers and parents, for one, would decide how money is spent in your child's classroom. a committee of lawmakers in charge with approving the final plan will vote on it later this morning. and after today's vote, the plan will go to the state board of education for consideration and for approval. >> dana: and the argument here is the fifth largest school

>> reporter: yes. the other day actually over the weekend is when i went to go check it out. but depending on what list you look at, it's one of the 7th wonders of the world. and, let me tell you, the it's a wonder to see. we got there and it was overcast. just in time the clouds still were out of there. the clouds started to clear up. we were able to see the iconic statue. beautiful. i can't come up with enough words to describe how amazing it was to be up there and see it in person. you've heard about it, read ab it. but experiencing it in real life is just a completely different feeling. it really was an amazing sight to see. the only problem was it took us about five hours just to get up there because of all of the lines. but obviously in the middle of the olympics, you have to anticipate a wait time because you can see the christ the relieve statue. it is a wonderful site to see and i'm glad i was able to share

country from another country, first of all we need to limit the flow. if he's elected, he'll sit down and get a list of countries where terrorism has been a problem and stop any immigration from those countries at all. anyone. so we can limit the flow of people here and deal with a more manageable number. part two then would be those who are allowed in or who want access through customs into this country would be asked a series of questions to try to determine what their beliefs are the u.s. in other words, trying to weed out people who believe in law or other things that he says they're not compatible with beliefs here in the united states. now, the question about that, kim, is how practical is it? we've got millions of people immigrating into this country. even if you narrow that down, could you practically sit down and question everyone who comes into this country about their belief to the degree that you

know beach wendy's restaurant the other day. this woman, margaret gee, visiting from new york when this happened, by the way. she says the man waited for her outside of the restaurant, called to her as she was leaving. she says he then grabbed her by the neck and when her gold necklace would not come off, he threw her to the ground and finally able to get the chain off of her neck. she is expected to make a full 6:52. gabbie douglas, madison kochen we know they won the gold medal earlier. now ali will compete tonight for her chance to win an individual gold medal. she says it really doesn't matter if they win or not. >> there's nothing as amazing and special as being able to win
