live now down boulder highway here toward desert inn. we're told the three-point pulled over a vehicle shortly after midnight. there were three people inside. one of them a man. the man got out of the vehicle and ran. that is when the two shot at each other. the trooper chasing the man and killing that person, the suspect. the trooper was hit by a bullet in the badge. and the trooper despite having been hit by a the trooper is not injured. this is a remarkable chain of events. there is an decision going on here. you can see that the boulder highway between u.s. 95 and lamb is closed. the investigation being done by the highway patrol and metro will work to figure out what

>> kim: we have another developing story to check in on. the arrest report has been released for the man accused of running a sex trafficking rick out of his home here in town. david coil ran an illegal massage hear parlor in his home. he hired teenage girls and forced them to work naked within his home. one victim telling police that one of the girls that worked there was his own daughter. he wasrr week after an undercover officers posed as a teenager. police are trying to determine how many victims were involved here. coil is expected to face a judge today for his arraignment. we'll have cameras in the courtroom. >> dana: we have a lot of new information about the las vegas raiders. this could be the scene in town. not this season but potentially soon if everything comes together. we're seeing what the stadium

situation in central italy. we've been checking out the live images. this is a tour of all the destruction from the deadly earthquake that slammed that region wednesday of the week. rescue workers scrambling to get away from falling debris as stones continue to tumble from a church bell tower. they had a huge aftershock and that crumbled buildings and rattled resid epicenter of all of it. a magnitude 6.2 earthquake that hit on wednesday. some survivors who go back are able to find some necessities. look at what they are having to comb through. the death toll has zika on the more than 260. at last check it was 267. they still think that number is going to go up. 180 people losing their lives in

>> dana: two nuns believe to be murdered in their home in mississippi. the women were checked on by authorities after they didn't show up for work. both are nurses. authorities don't yet know the cause of death, don't have a motive at this time. who would kill two nuns. the nun's car was stolen later found abandoned a mile from >> kim: in arizona authorities are increasing the reward money trying to stop a serial shooter who continues to target victims on the streets of phoenix. police have received hundreds of tips but none have led them to the actual serial street shooter in question. they are now as of this morning offering up $75,000 in reward money for information leading to an arrest. prosecutors stressing that the person who provides that information is not going to be in any trouble.

>> let me tell you, this is the first time in eight years of doing this i have not be to standard and pour yet. every single restaurant i feature i've been there multiple times. they just opened two days ago. i love the chefs here so much and i've eaten their food at carson kitchen. they do a fabulous job there. i know great chefs and know how great this stuff is. restaurant in henderson. the minute it opened it was the best restaurant in henderson. >> and they teamed up with a guy who has been doing this forever who knows the local food scene here. what is nice is you don't have to drive to the strip to have this sort of food. this is fairly new. within the last five or six years they've been getting out

looking toward desert inn. nevada highway patrol trooper pulls over a vehicle. when the trooper does there is a man inside that gets out and runs. the trooper chases that person and what follows is a shooting between that trooper and suspect. the man is killed we understand and there is an investigation into exactly what happened and why. the trooper's badge took a bullet. but the trooper is uninjured. the trooper inside of that vehicle that was pulled over. they have been detained for questioning. >> kim: sounds like that badge is possibly a lifesaver for that local troop they are morning. what a story. thank you for that live update. now to a developing story and it happens to be an exclusive. the babysitter accused of

floor killing the baby has been indicted by a grand jury. that mother has been waiting for months for that to happen. she has a message for all of us in our community. kendall all over the developing story. she has a warning for all parents. >> she sure does. the babysitter accused of abusing her little one was a close friend and described her as like a mother to her. the woman she murder and child abuse charges. this after police say she intentionally hurt the baby more than once and made up lies to explain his injuries. she had no idea lavender was responsible until after she learned the sitter had admitted to hurting him. he would have turned one this week and now his mother is sharing her most painful moment to make sure others know be careful of the people even those

midnight. a nevada highway patrol trooper pulls over a vehicle. the vehicle had three people inside. a man gets out and runs. there is a shooting between the trooper and that person who runs. the suspect is dead. in the process the trooper is shot. a bullet hits directly the badge or crazies the badge the trooper is wearing. the trooper is ok. very likely shaken up but just fine we're told. there is an investigation gng and nhp to figure out what happened and why. the other people in the vehicle being detained for questioning. >> kelly: thank you for that live update. we are expecting to learn the name of a hiker who died while he was hiking at red rock after falling to his death. here is a map. metro telling us the hiker fell on an overlook trail west of the scenic loop. john trainer reported last night
