couldn't get the person who was shooting that weapon to come out of the house. and when they surrounded the home, they couldn't get him to come out. they eventually did find this person not inside the house, but it was the metro chopper making the most unusual discovery. get a listen. >> the subject was located on the roof of the residence and he had somehow got back prior to contain the being established and going to the roof of the residence. >> back here live, i asked, well, how did you get him. go up on the roof and make the arrest, got a ladder, talked him down and did make the arrest. he is in custody for suspicion of weapons violation and they had information there was a 1-year-old child inside that home. that turned out to be true. nobody injured. the child okay and this neighborhood now back to normal.

judge asked him do you understand the charges against you. he said yes. the most serious being murder. garcia was pointed a public defender here. he has been killed with killing a 41-year-old man inside of the starbucks in the las vegas portion -- valley. they say this case is a top priority for him. so pedro garcia in the county jail. no chance for bail at least not for now. felon. >> at 6:06. more tragedy to talk about on the campus of an elementary school where classes have been cancelled for the rest of this week at the school in south carolina where two students and a teacher were shot yesterday afternoon. police believe the teenaged gunman first killed his dad before heading up to that school. it was near the end of the school day when authorities learned that the gunman was on campus. he open fired first on the playground and off-duty fire

shooter before he could get inside the school. when it was all said and done he was able to call for help and tackle this kid and get him in 15 minutes. authority say that the students two of them male students and a teacher up on campus was shot. one of them critically injured. the teacher was treated and are he lease. the children were reunited with their very troubled parents. >> i thank god it wasn't >> kim: police don't have a motive yet but short time after the school shooting police received another call a mile away that a man was dead from a gunshot wound. it turns out it was the shooter's father according to police. investigators say the suspect called his grandparents who went to his home and found the teen's father dead. . 6:07. a group of local people are against a proposed deal to build a football stadium here

at 6:42. something you have never seen before. in emergency a police officer's dash cam has a very unusual image. a dire t woman's car after it was hit. we have seen animals hit before and it is awful when it happens. when he pulls up, the deer actually trying to get in the driver's seat. the deer struggling with the large deer finally able to kind of get it out and shut the door quickly. only minor injuries to report here to the woman's knee. unfortunately, we hate that the story ends this way. the deer did die from those injuries sustained in the initial accident. time now to check in with

a train has apparently crashed into a new jersey transit station in hoboken. happened less than an hour ago. the train crashed into a rail. social media claims it crashed into the platform and image show debris thrown all around that station. the cause of the accident is it still under investigation. again there are happened less than an hour ago. from what we understand through nbc news and reporting mass casualties associated with this breaking news event. we will stay on top of it right here on news3. at 6:50, libertarian presidential candidate gary johnson says he is having, quote, an aleppo moment yesterday when he struggled to name a single foreign leader during a msnbc town hall with chris matthews. >> name a foreign leader that you respect. >> i am guess i am having an aleppo moment in the former
