charleston. 36 miles an hour range. for mount charleston, we can see the skies dark. we have a wind advisory in effect for the spring mountains. and includes indian springs. pahrump. points up to baitty points north. in effect from 2 p.m. this afternoon to monday morning. about 11:00 a.m. so you can see few clouds drifting through. we will have sunshine today. then few more clouds will develop overnight. mid-morning, we will be up to 81, that will be a warm day. mid afternoon 87. and peaking at about 89. outside chance we could hit 90 again. 84 degrees by early evening. 6 p.m. big story is the winds increasing and areas that will be higher than that. so expect a windy day. when will it abate? when will temperatures come down to more realistick on the levels? i will tell that you ahead in the main weather. back to you.

that. turn to decision 2016. democrat katherine masto and republican joe heck took to the debate stage last night. and now both want a chance to fill democratic harry reid's seat in senate. voinside and outside of the auditorium at the high school. dozens of protestors showed up to support masto and heck's bid for senate. one of the topics hitting close to home is whether or not they support question one on the masto supports this measure. heck is against it. >> i support question one. and let me say this. my husband and i are gun owners. my husband is retired secret service agent. born and raised in nevada. my father and uncles cousins are hunters. but what we have in common is we are responsible gun owners and we have to reduce gun violence. >> i don't support question one because i feel it doesn't

and the driver is cooperating with their investigation. no arrests were made. >> anchor: and police have identified the man suspected of committing 14 violent robberies as 50-year-old rex vance. those that knew him say they never saw that side of him that metro said led officers to shoot and kill him this week. antonio has the wrap up. >> reporter: it is all a mystery, what led once prominent henderson businessman and home realtor into a downwar s clark county coroner identified him as 50-year-old rex vance wilson. metro police wednesday shot him as he led officers on a high speed chase. police say days before the pursuit this was wilson in action pointing a gun at a henderson woman coming home from work. investigators believe wilson was serial robber that hit 14 businesses. >> surprising because in this neighborhood, we have some really good people of the good

they located that person. right here at the uniblock of ever glade street. attempted to confront person. at that time they confronted the individual. that individual then turned onto the officer, pulled out a handgun and fired several rounds at the officers. one of the officers was struck and hit in the head. >> anchor: my goodness. again that officer is expected to be okay. police say the suspect ran into a park. some bushes when police officers fired back. and officers eventually took him into custody. and he was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. and a shootout has left a suspect dead and other officers injured in democrats. an officer was in this neighborhood when he saw a shooting happening in progress. police say the officer intervened and was confronting the suspect when someone fired at him. and that officer fired back. hitting the suspect. who died later at the hospital.

it is actually the equivalent of a category 2 hurricane. it doesn't develop the same way, but the onshore flow. it will be replaced by torrential downpours. we could see the gusty winds. yesterday, we had the tornadoes, we had wind gusts along the coast up near 100 miles an hour. this includes big crescent city. winds gusting up to 100 miles per hour. that could lead to power outages and downed trees. it is a big storm that will affect the area as early as late this morning and into the afternoon and into the overnight and we start to see the rain taper off as we go into tomorrow morning. it becomes more or less spotty showers. after the big storm moves through, we will see a cold front move in.

this morning in today's take away, what you need to know about breast cancer. october is breast cancer awareness month. there is no better time to go over the guidelines, especially when they seem to always be changing. dr. natalie azar is here with more. why do the guidelines keep changing? >> it seems like they do. it is important to understand there is not mammography should be done. all organizations say they decrease breast cancer. where they differ is when the mammogram is started and how frequently it should be done and when they should end. >> let's talk about the guidelines. are there two schools of thought if you will? >> two major groups we are always talking about. one is the united states preventive services task force.
