going to get warmer heading toward the weekend. details in 10 minutes. >> dana: breaking news out of des moines, iowa. two police officers have been shot and killed. this is a live news conference. emotional des moines police department sergeant, you'll hear from him in a second. here is what we know. police say these officers were ambushed while sitting in tr officers responded to a report of shots fired. found a police officer had been shot. des moines officers responded to assist. about 20 minutes later a des moines officer found shot. both officers died. the police department said suspect information is being developed but they don't have anything to share just yet. the department is doubled up

>> kim: welcome back. a woman was rescued in the ohio river. she jumped in that water to get away from police. the 35-year-old woman crashed her car yesterday afternoon. when police arrived she ran down an embankment and jumped in the water. it was cold. the water before a nearby tug boat came to her rescue. she tries to fight off a good samaritan who jumped in the water to save her. she was taken to a hospital. she's expected to be ok but she's undergoing a mental health evaluation and she will face criminal charges for take off

a thrift store, scoring a necklace for his girlfriend. another post talks about raiding for a hat for his kids. then he talks about how he has to follow the speed limit when he does things like this because he has a suspended license. she has three warrants for his arrest for shoplifting. they are working on a fourth one in this latest case. >> dana: disturbing breaking news out of iowa. two policeff ambushed, shot and killed. one in urbandale which is just to the northwest of des moines. they have heavy rain as well as they investigated these crimes. the officers were simply sitting in their patrol cars when they were ambushed by somebody. police don't have a suspect in custody. the department has doubled up officers to better protect them.
