presidential candidates continue to campaign as we come closer to election time. ktiv's tiffany lane spoke to a siouxland professor on the platforms some of the candidates have established over the last few months. tiffany? sheila, here in iowa, many of the candidates have campaigigd at schools, restaurants ananother places ere community members could come and hear their hopes for the country first-hand. at these campaign stops, they have talked about foreign policy, health care, college tuition and other areas largely in debate nationwide. but how do they stand apart in their individual platforms? briar cliff university professor kyle irvin

ktiv.com and the link will be inside the story. sheila? an northwest iowa church is opening its doors each night this week so people can gather and pray for the upcoming caucuses andndhe nation. the e tional area leader f f the national day of prayer taskskorce, asked the living water community church in sheldon to host the nightly prayer sessions this week. the iowa caucuses are on monday. the prayer sessions go from 5 until 6 p.m. nebraska governor pete ricketts and his state trooper driver are ok after a traffic accident in lincoln. they were about eight blocks from the capitol this morning when a pickup truck struck their van. police say the other driver was at fault. nominations are being taken for this year's "south dakota governor's ag ambassador award." officials with the state agriculture department say nominees should be people who have worked hard to promote agriculture in south dakota. e award will be presented in june at the e vernor's ricultural summit in brookings.

olympics iowa. the donation totaled over $2,000-dollars, with those funds coming from the recent "holiday nachos navidad" fundraiser. this is the sixth year the company with special olympics iowa. taco john's staff say it's been a great partnership and they enjoy making the donation every year. "it's important. it gives them extra equipment things to do for the money. they're good to our heart they come in here they susuort us we support them. it's the people of sioux city that come in and buy the super nachos that gives back that money," said taco johns operations department, jennifer solma. taco johns has donated over 10,500 dollars to special olympics iowa over the years.

morning at supporting siouxland soldiers in sioux city. the motive at today's breakfast ... to spark some great conversation with local veterans. the event was designed to thank them for all the service they have done through the years. organizers say this morning means a lot and it's a great way to have the veterans in the community's come together.
