"the champagne bottle gets broken, but this day is about the bonding... the bonding between the sponsor of the ship and the crew," howard said. "for the united states of america, i christen thee sioux city," said mary winnefeld, uss sioux city sponsor. "may god bless this ship and all who sail on her." mary winnefeld is the ship's sponsor, and now considered an honorary crew member. it was up to her to send the sioux city on its way... with one swing. nats of launch now in the water, work will begin to finish the ship, which is about 80-percent complete. the sioux city's executive officer, ken lieberman, says the crew can't wait to get aboard. winter games continues to draw a large crowd. hundreds of spectators are enjoying the mild winter temperatures and winter fun for this year's event. todays entertainment included broomball, mega snow pong and grilling on the ice. a first-time winter games-goer says the games offer a variety of activities for her family. i'm bernie sanders, and i approve this message. republican presidential hopeful ted cruz stopped in sioux city tonight. bob vander plaats, duck dynasty star phil robertson and conservative radio host glenn beck all spoke before cruz took the utage. robertson expressing his draw to cruz's faith. beck talked about cruz's principles as to why he endorsed him. the big headline many wanted to see, was his invitation to republican front-runner donald trump. cruz invited trump, who skipped the latest gop debate, to tonights event. trump did not show and cruz called him out.
