we'll be back. welcome back to the blend. going to the dentist can be a stressful experience for some people. however knowing that you're in good hands with a team you trust can make all the difference in the world. >> dentist joel stokes offers gentle dentistry at an affordable price. how are you? >> terrific. how about you? >> great, thank you. we know you talk to a lot of patients and many of them would you say are afraid to see the dentist. >> that's true. dentistry in general is something that no patient wants to pursue. the only time a person has to go is when they are having a painful episode. so what we do is try to sov h soften the impact of going to the dentist, by training i've had, allows us to show patient how to reduce the stress response. we know in dentistry, there is something called ptsd. it can be from what somebody has experienced in their past, as a
9:20 am
they've heard, even the previous experience in an office about how the dental office smells. and those things can trigger a stress response when they come back to the dentist. so we have developed a program that allows people how to reduce that. >> how do you instill that trust in the patient? >> well, let's go back to what's happening in men i call and dental today. based on political and economic and things like that, something happens, a phenomenon that i call conveyor belt medicine in den distry. my own doctor retired because he didn't want to see 25 patients a day to pay the rent. so it's forcing doctors and dentists to see as many patients as they can in the shortest amount of time. what happens the most important relationship in the office is the doctor patient relationship. so what happens on conveyor belt medical services, is that that
9:21 am
down to physicians assistants and -- which i'm not putting down because they're trained, and also the physician's assistant had an assistant. so when i went, i never saw the doctor. i saw the assistant, and i saw the assistant to the assistant. and that's it. so what we've done is we tried to develop a program where somebody comes to me the first time, and we sit down for 20 to 30 minutes, and we decide if we can work together. they can find out what my standards are, i find out what they want to do. if he we can mesh the desires together then we got a winning situation. >> you give something to your patients, a notice to patient that is on your wall, on your business card. what is that? >> well, it's a statement of the philosophy of our office. it goes something like this. you see it on the screen. but it's on the back of my business card. and it's the front of the business card. it's important that when
9:22 am
what we really do. what it says is i understand my job to be as follows, to raise the probability as high as possible that you will spend the smallest percentage of the rest of your life in a dental chair. after my team and i work diligently to help you achieve the same level of dental health that i would provide to a member of my own immediate family. that is the best standard anyone could ever expect. whenever i go someplace, doctor, if i go to an attorney or if i go anywhere, mechanic or plumber i ask the question, if i was your brother or i was your father, is this exactly what you would do? and chance has to be yes. for me to be happy. >> of course. >> and that's exactly the way we posture our dental practice. >> and you're only as good as your team, obviously. >> yeah, they believe in the philosophy. it's not like we're going to run a hundred patients a day through that office. i could do that but i can't practice dentistry the way i want to. and the very possible way to achieve dental health for my
9:23 am
we do a lot of high end cosmetic dentistry, that's like the icing on the cake. my most important mandate is to help people to be healthy. and also with that 20 to 30 minute visit that we have, based on the principles that we go through, it shows people how to select any doctor. the principles are universal about any relationship that you have with somebody that is taking care of you in any way. >> can you tell us about your background and your training? >> well, where do you want to start? i've been doing this a long time, for 43 years. >> you have a lot of patients. >> 10 years in california and i moved here in the early '80s during the boom time of las vegas. we see a lot of great patients. i have my training was i went to university of pacific dental school, graduated back there, way back then. and in 1982 i moved to las vegas with my family. and it was a great opportunity
9:24 am
we had 300,000 people, everybody -- the market, you knew everybody. it's really changed. and so we have to change with it, and so i've been in las vegas since 1982. taking hundreds and hundreds of hours of continuing education. we also do -- i have an expert that does dental implants. he's really good. and i teach. i have taught classes on cosmetic dentistry for different laboratories. we have dentists that come in from different parts of the country and we train them. that's what i do. it's an ex-side thing. been doing this a long time. in order to be practicing for this many years, you have to continuously reinvent yourself. up to be up on technology. you have to really find a different way to really help people, patients, be their best. >> patients keep coming back because they know you treat them well, and you listen to them. >> that's true.
9:25 am
that i've been treating for 25 years. it's really a testimony to what we saw on the card. my patients that i've been treating for that amount of time, don't have any dentistry to do. they have allowed me to do what we said, to allow me to do my job, so they spend the smallest percentage of the rest of their life in a dental chair. we monitor it and take care of it along the way. that rolls into something that we have that ties into that philosophy. we have a warranty program that somebody wants to come into my office so i can explain the warranty program, it allows them to feel secure that the money they've invested is actually a good investment. and that along the way, if anything has to be done there are certain add stranges to be with their practice. >> the first time i've met a dentist with a warranty. >> it's really a great idea. >> we'll talk more about that the next time.

what's just make believe. and it has a poignant soft core, i guess, because we find out that edward's dying. and at the center it's kind of a race against the clock, because he wants to figure out who his father really is, so he may impart this legacy on his new son, and along the way we meet unbelievably fantastic characters, like a giant and mermaid and a witch and all these other crazy characters that are part of edward's story and we want to figure out if any of this is real or this is just all make believe. it's a beautiful story. >> ever since you walked on to the set you've been glowing about it. this is -- you're very proud of it. >> well, you know, faith conservatory, i can't say enough about the school. and the students at the school. they're very talented, very dedicated and passionate. and we've done many shows in the
9:29 am
personally this is probably, gosh, i can't think of any other project i've taken greater pride in. the students have really invested themselves in a way i can't describe, and i think the sensitive under belly to this story telling has given them an opportunity to expand on skill sets that they've never tapped into. and so they're having to deal with very adult themes. >> topics, yes. >> death, love, marriage, fidel oath, inin a dillity, and all the understanding topics and wrap it in this beautiful, funny and sent i mental and loving tale, and gosh, they're rock stars, rocking it out every night. everybody has to see this show. ity is amazing. >> you don't have to have seen the movie or read the book or the broadway show to get the story. >> i don't think so. i think those that are fans of the movie, which i think is great, who doesn't like tim burton fantasy, right? if you're fans of it you will love it.
9:30 am
i would encourage you to go see because it's something that the entire family can enjoy, but certainly something an entire family should endure, because it makes you think about life differently and how you're your own story teller. and the beginning opening number of the show is called be the hero, and it's challenging the audience to be the hero of their own story they live every day. >> very quickly, what dates are you performing and how much are tick tests. >> friday, saturday and sunday, at 7:00 p.m. sunday at 4:00 p.m. matinee. and the tickets found at face conservatory.com. they range from $20 to i believe $12, depending on where you sit. but we only have three shows left. we hope to see everybody there. >> can you set up the production? >> this is edward bloom. he tells a tale about being swept away by a traveling circumstances. at the circumstance he's meets
9:31 am
sandra, and sandra's auditions for the circus. and in the middle of her audition, time stops. and he reflects on how he's found his true love. >> okay.
9:32 am
[ singing ] >> that's great. >> thank you so much. thank you. thank you. >> this weekend don't miss the larger than life tale "big fish the musical." show times are friday and saturday at 7:00 p.m., sunday at 4:00 p.m. tickets start at $6. >> are you sure? >> giving them away. >> they're giving the tickets away. >> for more information head to the website on your screen.

9:36 am
feel great and you can help them achieve that. >> we can. so we use radio frequency, which is heat and radio waves, and we're using a noninvasive device called pelleve. and what this does is this heats the deep layer of the skip, the derma, from the inside out. so it's all that heat that building up in that deep layer, this is scientifically proven to stimulate the growth of brand-new collagen, reduces fine lines and wrinkles that you have and also works to tighten up the skin in the area that we're treating. >> even though it's a lot of heat, it's heat just for the skin. you don't become bacon. >> no. no. it's no pain. there's no pain involved with this. and there's no down time or recovery time, which is why our patients are loving it, because they get to come in. it takes about 45 minutes for the session if you're treating the complete face. and you can apply make up right after that. >> you can do the face and the body? >> we can. so we can treat the complete face, the neck, which is going to be the most popular area, one
9:37 am
we do receive. that's going to be the most popular area. we can treat areas of the body with this device. so that's really exciting that we can tighten up the skin in the area that you want to treat. >> what are some of the big areas you see around the body, beyond the face obviously? >> so one of the main areas is, of course, going to be the thighs or the stomach, just because if you had a baby, you got loose skin in that area, we're going to work to tighten up the area in stomach or if you suffer from cellulite in the thighs or loose skin, you know, obviously as we age everything starts to drop. so by tightening up the skin and reducing cellulite in that area we're getting great results. >> you mentioned you seen great results. let's take a look at pictures and you can describe what we're taking a look at. >> what's exciting with this, we treat the face and the neck, but really exciting part is this is one of the only devices on the market that can really treat the eye area. >> oh whoa. >> we can tree crow feets, we
9:38 am
with it. so this is one of the noninvasive treatments where we're able to actually treat the eye area. this is exciting. >> a lot of people think the only way to get to the eye area is something like botox and we don't necessarily want to do that. >> the nice part about this is most patients do a series of four sessions where they come once every four weeks. and the nice part of this is results last up to two years. so when you have one treatment of pal a syringe it's actually producing at least six months of brand-new collagen for the patient. >> and you don't have to -- you don't have any down time. >> no down time with this. so obviously you see some results after your first session, that is improved month to month all the way up to 12 months. you will see a difference with only four sessions from six months up to 12 months when you're not even in the clinic anymore. >> excellent. where were you located? >> we're located at washington and rainbow, so we're at 777 north rainbow boulevard, and we're suite 200.
9:39 am
for pelleve? >> that's the nice part of this. male or female, from 25 up to 80, you know, age is definitely not a factor. we develop wrinkles from dehydration, smoking, stress, therer a so many factors of why we get those fine lines and deep folds on our face. we're able to treat you no matter what the reason is. >> awesome. you have a special offer, as well. >> we do. so we're doing 40% off promotion, so you can give us a call. you have to call us today. and we'll give you all the information that you need on the actual device on pelleve and what treatment would be like for you. we'll give you 40% off four or six sessions of pelleve. >> and as you mentioned you get the best results when you do the entire package. >> yeah. if you're younger, in your 20s you can get away with doing one or two sessions of this, but most of our patients coming in to see us are from 35 all the way up to 80. and they're going to want to do the series of four sessions where you come once a month. >> excellent.
9:40 am
where do they go? >> they can go to our website. the best thing to do is talk to a medical assistant and give us a call and we can give you the information. >> thank you so much. >> thank you for having me. >> again, if you call today and book an appointment, you will get 40% off four sessions of pelleve. that is today only. laser med solutions is located on rainbow south of washington. for more information, call the number on your screen or visit the website. >> meantime, remember to check out vegasmorningblend.com. there you can find on our website past segments, recipes, facebook and twitter links, vegasmorningblend.com. stay with us. we'll be back. if you're doing everything right but find it harder and harder to get by, you're not alone.
