house catch on fire. how his family is dealing with his arrest. a couple married 50 years does not have a place to live tonight, after a fire rips through their trailer... ....and now, their son has been taken into custody as a person of interest for arson. 13 action news reporter david schuman is live at the home, that is now unrecognizable. david. this right here was the family's shed....you can see it's destroyed. debris is everywhere including inside the trailer. the fire started out here....and the suspect's girlfriend says it was all an accident. "i love you." "i love you too." soon after police took wallace hicks away...his girlfriend destiny coalwell broke down.

seen him catch on fire for a split second." hicks was picked up for outstanding warrants in separate cases..but fire investigators say he is a person of interest in this fire. the estimate is thirty thousand dollars in damage. coalwell says she was right next to her boyfriend when he accidentally started the fire. while coalwell was overcome by her emotions...ada hicks and her husband picked through the wreckage. fortunately everyone inside was able to make it out safely. there were no reports ofany injuries. no word yet on what caused this fire. fire crews were also called out after a a furniture store near charleston and maryland parkway today. it went up in flames this afternoon. las vegas fire and rescue crews were able to quickly get everything under controll. crews say it looks like the fire started in the attic, but they're still investigating. no injuries reported. an update to some breaking news we brought you earlier on 13 action news. right now, the freeway at us-95 and boulder higway is back open tonight. traffic was diverted for hours earlier today. metro and n-h-p were out here, trying to negotiate with a suicidal man who was threatening to jump off the bridge. that man was eventually taken into custody. new information on a family fight that ended in tragedy.

killed yesterday as 22-year-old devry moore but the big question now is -- why! metro says moore was fighting with either his father or his stepfather at a home near cimarron and mountain's edge parkway. at some point, the teen stabbed the man 4 times.....and then, the man shot and killed the boy. that man is at u-m-c. metro is considering filing criminal charges against him. now, investigators are talking to family members who were there during the fight to get to the bottom of all this. an action news update on another deadly shooting-- the coroner just identified the man shot and killed in a parking lot. he's 27-year-old steven spurlin. police are hoping this new information will lead them to the killer. the shooting happened near rainbow and westcliff. witnesses tell 13 action news a nissan pulled up....spurlun rolled out of the car.....and then another man fired six shots at him before he could even stand.

restrictions to keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers. from 2006 to 20-14, the fbi says 71 people in las vegas were shot to death by a spouse, ex-spouse or a dating partner. last june, governor brian sandoval signed a bill, banning convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence from possessing a gun. it also prohibits people from buying a gun...if they have been court-ordered to stay away from an estranged partner. nevada is actually one of 13 states with these kinds of laws. right now, take a good look at your screen. this is 81- year-old richard boisy junior. north las vegas police need your help finding him. they say he may be in danger! he has been missing since thursday... he left his home near revere and tropical and never came back. his family says he may have early on-set dementia. if you see him, please call north las vegas police right

a live look outside right now where it's been a beautiful night and everyone wants to know how long this weather is going to last. so let's check in with 13 weather first meteorologist karla huelga. a pretty quiet and warm weather pattern is upon us with high pressure taking over the forecast through at least next friday. temperatures will top out in the upper 60s tomorrow and around 70 for monday. both days will see breezy winds with clear to mostly clear skies. a lake wind advisory is in effect for the lake mead recreation area and the colorado river valley. after monday we will see lighter winds, sunny to mostly sunny skies and high in the low 70s through thursday. we will get a push of more clouds ahead of a storm system that will pass to our north over next weekend. despite the additional cloud cover, high temps will stay in the low 70s friday and saturday
