a source of fear and emotional stress. becky spurling is living a double life. most days are spent at sunrise hospital -- where her husband jim cutlar has been for nearly a year. in her rare time at home...only a fence separates her from what jim's brother louis calls a visible hazard. 12:31:22 louis cutlar "we have squatters next door, we don't want them there. it could get bad. they could break in or do something like that." facing the threat of squatters and monitoring her husband's health...becky is doing her together. 12:34:12 crying "it's just a lot to deal with." "she's been through a lot." while doctors and nurses heal jim... jim cutlar "man, i feel terrible about it." ...the family reached out to 13 action news about the problem next door. david schuman "the cutlars say this house has been vacant since the recession and squatters have been in and out for at least a year. they've tolerated it until now. get some answers.

but no squatters were there when officers arrived. 12:35:41 "what can you do? what do. 12:37:38 becky "i don't need this. i've already had enough." near nellis and harmon..david schuman..13 action news. this man is in police custody tonight.... after police say... wife and confessed..... in a 9-1-1 call. police say.... arthur lopez initially called dispatchers and told them..... he killed his wife.... but... when they went to the home near sloan and washington.... and no one responded... they left. it was -4- hours later..... when her roommate.... found her dead. detectives found... a bloody metal pipe.... in the trash can. arthur lopez was arrested..... after a two day manhunt... he now faces.... murder charges.

connection with the sexual assault of an employee at a hotel near boulder highway and desert inn. metro says ivon major is now facing several charges including robbery.. kidnapping and sexual assault. police say the attack occured after major broke into a hotel room. an update on a story you'll see only on 13 action news. the state has shut down a southern highlands preschool after a toddler was left alone outside in the head for more than an hour. 13 action news anchor lesley marin is there live right now with more history. lesley. the kidz kidz kidz here in southern highlands was shut down 2 weeks ago...days after we first aired this story. today-- we're learning through public records -- it's not the first time the school has seen some problems.

there are no teachers around..they don't even know deal with as a parent.. that incident happened a little over two weeks ago -- but wasn't the first time the preschool has had problems,. 13 action news filed a public records request.. to see just what's been going on at kidz kidz kidz in southern highlands. records show the preschool has had 6 violations since 2009 -- the most recent in october 20-15. the school was fined 118 dollars.. for not having working a-c in a toddler room.. 01460 0 center have to be held accountable none of their previous violations have ever shut down the school. but this time -- the state closed the doors and won't let the school reopen until it meets all its standards. 014529 014537 maybe the next time something would happen to another child and it would not the school was originally set to have its first hearing with the state..tomorrow. that has been reschedule by the school.. due to time restrictions.. lesley marin 13 an the state's top attorney is sinking in.....

members fear..... a new bill could cost them.... their jobs... but... as 13 action news reporter.... michael burton tells us... it's one of the authors of that that doesn't happen. like many ccsd employees - members of the "education support employee association" have serious concerns about plans to reorganize the school district. states: a local school precinct is not required to purchase equipment, services and supplies from the school district. it's the word "services" that worries the president of the esea. outsource their service needs, what will happen to the ccsd staff members currently taking care of them. "food service. technical. clerical. those are all service." these services are rendered by what ccsd calls support staff. assemblyman david gardner says the unique needs of support staff members may have been overlooked when drafting these regulations. "when we wrote this bill, the support staff really wasn't involved a ton. i mean every since they came to the public hearing and said he we haven't been involved. i said..you're right. taped tag: the advisory committee will have a final vote on these regulations next

but first.. frustrated and confused passengers are stuck for hours at mccarran.. after thier frontier flight was delayed a number of times. tonight ... those passengers are finally on their way to their destination.. but.... not after a very long.... couple of days. they say the first delay was a mechanical issue last night.. and when it was time to leave the second time this morning.. there was another delay. gabrielle young shot this video for us from the terminal. they told us they were yelled-at by frontier em and given very little information about what was going on. there was a crowd around the ticket desk, telling at agents, agents were yelling back at us we reached out to frontier twice. they told us these passengers would be eligible for a refund. they also said there was no yelling at passengers.. the passengers were the ones booing.. and yelling at them. happening right now.. the delta airlines computer glitch is having a larger impact on flights....
