the i-15 is now completely open at cajon mpass. that's a big deal for people needing to travel to and from las vegas to the los angeles area. still, the fire is only about 4 percent contained.... it's charred more than 31 thousand acres. numerous homes have been destroyed ... 34 thousand are still in jeopardy. 82 thousand people are under mandatory evacuation orders. firefighters say the fire is being fueled by intense winds. crews are still trying to keep the fast moving fire from and in san diego.....firefighter s attack another wildfire by air. sot: thomas molinary, spring valley, resident: we had roughly two minutes to get out of the house. that was it. just two minutes to grab whatever you can and go. you gotta go. sheriffs were screaming at us get out now. that one....is around 50 percent contained. to the north..... the clayton fire is also slowing down. around 4-thousand people in the area north of san francisco-

historic building destroyed by the fire. the summit inn... an iconic route 66 roadside diner is just a pile of ashes. it opened in 1952 on cajon pass... and became a popular spot. elvis and clint eastwood both ate there. people living nearby say this was just one of several buildings destroyed.... my house was completely surrounded by fire last night, i literally drove out through foot flames that man took this picture as he was leaving his home. flames were. drought conditions in california are fueling the chimney fire ....burning near santa barbara -- has now consumed some eight-thousand acres. right now....it's only 25- percent contained. more than 23-hundred personnel are battling the flames, assisted by 165 fire engines, seven air tankers, 13 helicopters, 28 dozers and 34 water tenders. officials say 45 homes in this fire have been destroyed and seven others damaged.

and..... as thousands are fleeing the out of control "blue cut" fire in southern california. san bernardino county fire officials say power lines are causing problems for some crews "those power lines are called kv lines and it's a huge concern for us. they have a high amount of electricity, hundreds of thousands of volts in those kv lines it impacts our aircraft." it started tuesday morning and has burned over 30-thousand acres. as f than 80-thousand people have evacuated and an unknown number of homes have been destroyed. also...the man accused of intentionally setting the clayton fire in california made his first court appearance wednesday. damin pashilk faces 19 charges.... 13 of them are arson related... other charges including possession of meth and traffic
