a toddler is fighting for his life right now after investigators say he was beaten so badly.. his brain is swelling. and tonight.. the man who was supposed to look after him is under arrest. 13-action news anchor christopher king has more on what's in the police report in this tragic story. chris. this is the police report. and it indicates..the outlook for that little boy is grim. he's beaten within inches of his life. his skull..is fractured. his brain..hemorrhaging police say..the that little boy's mother..is to blame. right now..this man..duarte jeremiah fayne..is behind bars..accused of doing the unthinkable. police say..fayne..who's 6- foot-2..and wieghs about 180 pounds..beat his girlfriend's 17- month old son so badly..he could die. we won't reveal the child's name. he's a minor. we won't show the pictures of how savagely he was beaten. they're too gruesome. we can tell you..the little boy was taken to the hospital..week ago monday. according to this police report..the child..suffering from bruising..under both eyes..his abdomen and jaw.

((graphic here)) let's take a look at what happened here: robert myers, the man we interviewed, says the elevator first broke on july 9. on august 11, robert first emailed us for help...that's when our contact 13 volunteers stepped in. between august 11 and september, management made multiple promises the elevator would be fixed. but it never was. our news team stepped in, and you first met robert on september 2nd. management said the elevator would be fixed on september the date came and went - but the elevator still isn't going anywhere. we checked again today, and the property management company is telling us they are sending out another crew this friday, september 9th, to fix it.
