at midday: isis now claiming responsibility for that stabbing spree at a minnesota mall. today we are hearing from the father of the attacker. and those weekend attacks are now taking center stage on the campaign trail. what the candidates are saying. but first -- the man accused of setting off bombs in new york and new jersey over the weekend is now behind bars. this is the dramatic moment ahmad khan rahami was taken away on a stretcher after a shootout with new york police just hours ago. one police officer was shot in in the hand. saturday's blast injured 29 people in new york city and an explosion that occurred near a charity race in seaside park, new jersey, earlier that day. according to a senior law enforcement official...investigat ors first identified rahami sunday afternoon. they were able to identify him through a fingerprint. the fbi says rahami was born in afghanistan and is a naturalized u.s. citizen. his last known address was in elizabeth, new jersey.

a plane heading to reno from denver skids off the runway just before takeoff. officials say this united plane's brakes went out... forcing it to go into a grassy area near the runway. about two hundred people were on board at the time. after waiting at the airport overnight passengers were given food vouchers and boarded on a new plane. no one was hurt. everyone was bused back to the terminal and put on another fight to reno. :13 "i pilot and passengers in gilbert, arizona. they survive, not only a crash, but a fireball! four skydivers onboard the small cessna were set to jump in a local festival, when the plane ran into trouble. all of them made it out without a scrath. the pilot also parachuted to safety suffering burns and other injuries. witness "i saw just a ball of flame. it was like it was going straight and then it went straight down.
