9:02 am
>> yeah. >> i was like you sure? he's like, well, beach. >> i'm yeah, the taxes. >> he's like, beach. >> yeah. he's got his board shorts on. he has his mug popeye, that he lives with. >> poppy is an adorable dog. he probably shed a tear doing that. he shed a little bit of a tear saying gog to us. >> he hugged me 14 times, which is more affection than i have ever received from micah. i said micah, this is a beautiful thing. he said come another hug. >> did he give you a little pat? >> he didn't give me a little pat. >> he gave me one. i was just wondering? >> a pat? >> a little -- i think he likes me more. that's what i was trying to get to. >> wow! man. six years, micah. six years. what else did you do this week? >> i hosted girls day. oh, man, did we have girls day!
9:03 am
>> were the boys not invited. >> no. they had boys night. >> ah. >> on thursday. girls day, it was amazing. hundreds of girls that participate in the boys and girls club from town paired up with adult women, women from every business, every corner of las vegas. amazing group of women. i got to host in front of everybody. i lost my voice a little bit. >> the former owner of tropical smoothie was there. phenomenal woman. >> dina. i'm sorry. of course she was there. she won first place in one of the games. >> there was a game -- i didn't know there was a game. >> yeah. there was competition. there was a lot of -- girls are competitive, too. >> there is no question. >> i'll tell you who is competitive. metro. >> yeah. >> we had a d.j. to get the crowd warmed up before the event started and i got pulled down to dance. i am telling you, talk about talent in this valley. there are some girls who have
9:04 am
>> wow! >> there we are! >> so that's the crowd. so all the girls are in pink shirts. all the blue are the adult women paired up with them. it was just such a great day of camaraderie. if you can see in the front row, see the three women in tan? >> that's metro. >> that's metro. >> i see. >> so i got pulled up to dance. i was so mortified because i'm in front of all these young girls who, like they're shuffling and i'm like oh, wow. i got to step it up. soy grabbed the the metro ladies got moves. >> nice. >> yeah. they threw down. >> i did not know. i didn't know they had moves. >> yes. >> next time i'm pulled over, i'll be like hey, dance for me. i don't know if that will work. chances are it won't. >> how was your weekend? >> it was good. sunday i stayed home. i watched the patriots win. i'm like very low key. low key patriots. it's the browns. i feel bad beating the browns.
9:05 am
come on! i cleaned around the house 'cause i like to use the floor as my closet and my wife doesn't enjoy that. and i watched that grease fire that is called the presidential debate. >> we don't get political on the show. but i watched the debate as well. wow. >> yeah. america. >> no comment. i will say we have the third debate to look forward to next wednesday, the 19th, he las vegas. >> yes. >> that is cool. >> that at least will bring something to our economy. i'll be watching and crying. >> it's gonna be fascinating. >> we want to hear from you about your weekend here. we got links at vegasmorningblend.com, could read some of your comments live on the air and take a look at this. >> fight hard, we're behind you.
9:06 am
>> i love that. we're just looking at touching video upload fluid a mobile app called video fit. it's helping people around the world share supportive video messages with friends and family affected. >> yeah. the app has partnered up with the american breast cancer foundation for the month of october to raise awareness about breast cancer through social media. and here to tell us how we can participate and help pred the message, paul loube, ceo for american breast cancer foundation. and laura steward, ce, and founder of video fit, welcome. how are you? >> what is happening here with this app? it's so amazing. you're really reaching people in a new touchy way. tell me all about video fizz. >> the idea was that we would use the month of october for breast cancer awareness and instead of just wearing a pink shirt, we'd do something to uplift cancer patients. our app makes montages. so you film a video, you are
9:07 am
same thing and inside we had a category called cancer sucks. >> it does, yes. >> cancer sucks. and when a friend of yours or family member gets cancer, it's really touching to have everyone in the family and their support group let them know that you're behind them. when we saw the adoption and the am of people that were participating in how meaningful these messages were to the men and women who received them, we approached the american breast cancer foundation and donated our app for the month of october. for the month of october. we've also programmed it so you can make a donation that would help jackie and his organization, the american breast cancer foundation, touch the lives of women. >> absolutely. let's talk about the american breast cancer foundation. nonprofit. you help underinsured people that are affected by this, tonight you? >> correct. underinsured, uninsured, who need assistance. as you know, one out of eight women will be diagnosed with
9:08 am
so we provide grants to those individuals regardless of age or gender, who need assistance and get mammograms and diagnostic testing and if they do -- are diagnosed with breast cancer, we try to assist them through that entire process. >> that's awesome. >> it's an amaze thing what you do. i can't believe one in eight women. that's a jarring statistic. and so youe underinsured people. but anyone can reach out to you. >> anyone can reach out. yes. through our web site. abcf.org. and we have someone, bilingual taking applications every day. >> absolutely. to line up with video fizz, to have a connection like this, to be able to have within the app to be able to donate v a connection like this is phenomenal. >> i think that's like a challenge? >> yes. you dump water on someone's head
9:09 am
separate to make a donation. we want to do do is let you uplift someone and you see the videos, right? people get crazy creative and the people who receive them sometimes watch them even during treatment. and then right there you can make a donation. if you do so, you get a little i donated pink ribbon down on the bottom, so at the same time you're uplifting your friend and honoring them, you're helping patients in need. >> you're sending the challenge. they'll see it be like, i should donate. >> you can invite in the app. you can download, reco video, invite, donate and share socially or privately. if it ends up being really personal and you want to e-mail it to them privately, you can. if you want to post it on facebook or twitter you can. we have some sports icons an personalities that are going to be starting to make videos here in the next week. we're excited for that to happen. >> excellent. very cool. >> laura, it's really exciting what you're doing. you mentioned to me that so many people are participating because i mean, when you know someone with cancer, you want to reach out and help in some way.
9:10 am
a little gift of inspiration, right? not everyone is techy, too, right? so you might want to do it and can't put it together. we just make it simple. you basically download it, decide who you're sending it to and then you invite people through a code so that can happen anywhere in the world. we -- i didn't tell jackie this yet. but we got a pinking of you video that came from australia. so we saw that yesterday. >> twas upside down? >> it wasn't. apparently this australian person lives in the united states and the people in australia did it for her and there were multiple videos. so there is no world boundaries. this is also no gender boundaries. men get breast cancer, too. i don't think a lot of men understand that. so the american breast cancer foundation, was a logical pick for us because they don't discriminate their awards based on age or gender. we love that about them. >> we have an educational piece
9:11 am
male breast cancer. so we have had donations on behalf of individuals who have male breast cancer and we just had a woman in the office the other day whose son was diagnosed with breast cancer. >> wow. >> so she want to do get some information. >> and men aren't getting mammograms. to be able to that much is really a miracle. >> i think it's -- they think it's a torn muscle. my goodness. >> a great thing you're doing. thank you so much for being here. love the app and thank you so much for your hard >> yes. go to the pinking of you video.com site and download. if there is somebody in your life, family member or friend, let them know you're pinking of them. >> thank you. >> thank you. >> download the video fizz app at videofizz.com. learn more about the american breast cancer society at abc f.org. video fizz and abc f are both on facebook and twitter. >> and still to come on the "morning blend," a home for the holidays. the local business making it

tremendous amount of security measures and protocols because keeping our customers' money and safe is o top priority. it's a mandatory thing we must provide. so you should feel very confident banking online with a bank like ally. >> and today just happens to be national online banking day, which i have put on my calendar. how did this come about? where did this come from? >> right. so we named national day this time last year on columbus day really as a way to raise consumer awareness about the benefits of banking with an online bank. and we are choosing columbus day. it's a day when many banks are closed and really just to highlight that difference that we're always here. and so we're celebrating the second annual national online banking today and as part of our celebration, we've actually launched a new program, select

it may be the season to be spooked, but we want you to meet a vampire that won't scare you. in fact, you're gonna love this vampire. here to introduce us to it is peggy pruuchnicki, owner and advance practitioner practitioner of simply radiant by peggy. good morning. >> good morning. thank you for having me back. >> you are so welcome. an advanced practice nurse practitioner. tell me a little bit about your qualifications and your experience as a skin care
9:39 am
there is a lot of confusion about nurse practitioners. advance practice license, so you have to have a masters degree. so i got my masters degree in michigan at michigan state university and then i went on to study to become an experienced injector. i studied with all the best throughout the nation so that i can take their techniques and combine them and come up with a technique that we use now in my practice here in las vegas. it's just amazing what we can do. >> fantastic. you do a lot of things over at simply radiant. injections, very topical, very popular. what about this vampire facial that we're gonna talk about. very intriguing name, by the way. >> we call it the vampire facial because what we do is take blood. so that's where we get the vampire. we get the blood out of the vein and then we spin it down and the red blood cells fall to the bottom and the platelet rich plasma comes to the top. with a official, we'll micro needle that into the skin.
9:40 am
acne, acne scars, fine lines, skin texture, dark spots. it's one of the best treatments that you can do for your face. >> i've never heard of something like this. >> oh, yeah. >> this is really interesting. so you start with taking a bit of my blood out. >> correct. >> yes. wow. this -- you're able to see some amazing results. what does it do for acne? >> it helps with the scars. we can get rid of the scar tissue and even out the texture. then we can do laser treatments to help with the acne, the active acne itself. with the laser treatment you get three different levels of laser. one that kills the bacteria of the other shrinks the sebatian glands and the other gets rid of the redness from the treatments. so there is very little down time. you get one treatment over two weeks for two months and you're face, we have some amazing results, i think. >> i tell you, speaking of amazing results, nothing shows them like photos. >> right.
9:41 am
after. let's take a look at those. >> i think is amber. you'll see that she had the vampire facial. this is her before. so she had four treatments where we did the platelet's and then micro needled it into the skin. >> can we pause on this for a second? what i'm seeing is acne damage. is that right? >> those little marks, yes, the little pockmarks. >> that's before. >> and then the after she has a much smoother skin texture. there we go. yes. this is after four treatments. so you can see a lot of improvement there with those pockmarks, the scar tissue. it will improve even more. the good thing about platelets is it stimulates the collagen, so it continues to improve even over time. >> it looks like the divots in her skin were filled in. >> correct. >> which can be one of the most difficult things to repair, right? >> it is very difficult. >> you offer a few other services that are called vampire. >> right. >> tell me about those. >> we do the vampire face lift,
9:42 am
over the filler, so that will give you a lift. helps get rid of these line in here and down here. gives awe very refreshed look and helps you just to feel better about yourself. we also do the vampire breast where you put some platelets in here, give you a little more roundness, a little more fullness. >> a little cleavage? >> a little cleavage. >> really? >> it's always nice. >> so how long does this last? let's say for the vampire facial, if i'm doing injectable, first of all, what injectables >> with the vampire face lift, we use juvaderm or radius. then the platelets on top of t. we do that once a year. myself i'll do it once a year. and that usually gives you that refreshed look. then maybe add a little bit of filler throughout the year if i need it or the client needs it. so it will just give you -- helps the bone loss, the texture, the fat loss that you have throughout the year. >> once a year is nice.
9:43 am

absolutely no side effects. and what we're doing is we're using low level laser to actually heal the hair follicle and regrow back your own natural hair. >> how is this working? >> so we are applying laser energy directly to the hair follicle and this in turn is stimulating that growth stage. so we are increasing circulation and blood flow back to the scalp and like i said, we're gonna stimulate that growth stage for you. >> i was reading up how this is done and how they came about this. they tested it on rats or something like tha realized the rats were growing like afros. how is it possible? >> the nice part about it is it is your own natural hair. you're able to be treated whether you're male or female. it doesn't matter your age. what we check for is actually active hair follicles. and a lot of the time when you don't have any visible hair there in that area, you still have an active hair follicle. we can still help. >> so essentially gets rid of whatever the blockage is that

>> who is a good candidate for this? when it comes to hair loss, a lot of the time when you see medication, it's generally only for men. >> yes. this is something where we can treat males. but we can treat females with this, which is really exciting because females don't have a lot of options. it's very traumatic for a few male to suffer from hair loss. a lot of the time we are covering up with wigs, extensions, which could be further damaging to the hair. >> of course. >> so as soon as you notice any type of hair fallout, you definitely want to do something about it because the sooner you catch it, the better of a result we can actually get you with this. >> so i know that there is no pain. do you feel like a warming sensation? >> there is no heat actually coming from it. but there is gonna be no pain, no heat. it's nice and easy for you and again, no side effects. so it doesn't really matter your medical history. if you're on certain medications, you have certain health concerns, we can still
