it is in my best interest." jefferson parish president mike yenni -- who is married with children -- apologized for the incident, but says he didn't do anything wrong. both the parish council and the sheriff are calling on him to resign. (mike yenni/jefferson parish president) "i apologize i made that point to them through the release we did last week and people make mistakes i am going to move forward and work harder than i've ever worked so they considering banning him from a california highway patrol officer shot and killed a suspect on a major freeway in irvine. the incident happened interstate 5 and caused a major traffic jam. we're told the suspect was initially running across freeway lanes and was hit by a car. when officers arrived, he confronted them and that's when he was shot. he was taken to a hospital where he died. no officers were injured.

parking lot in scottsdale, arizona. authorities say they found the boy's mother and her boyfriend inside the casino gambling. cops arrested 23-year-old brad porter and 25-year-old jessica lopez. a search of their car also turned up drugs and alcohol. now one of the parents is speaking out from jail. brad porter / accused of leaving child in car "i wasn't trying to put him in harms way. if anything i was trying to make sure... i was trying to provide something for us so we would be okay for the next couple days. be sleeping in the car. we had been sleeping at tempe town lake for the past three or of charges including child abuse and drug possesion. authorities are investigating -- after a truck plowed through a group of protesters advocating for native american rights. some activists -- accusing the driver of a racially motivated attack. the whole incident was caught on camera. a-b-c's lauren lyster has the
