much of the eastern half of the country are seeing some record-high temperatures this week. more than 40 cities are looking at potentially record-breaking heat. meteorologists say much of the warmer temperatures will be in the south and southeastern united states -- but the heat wave extends north to chicago and east to new york city and boston. an update on that wildfire burning on mount charleston. firefighters tell us the fire is 65-percent contained this morning. they made a lot of progress make more today. the forest service says the flames are moving away from residential areas. the blaze was sparked by an illegal campfire. here at home.... metro police are trying to determine who shot at and robbed a man trying to sell to his cell phone.... this happened at a gas station near mlk and bonanza. police say the suspects got into the victims' car to talk. that's when one of the guys pulled out a gun.
