there is an officer down. >> reporter: this morning, a statewide manhunt under way for this man, 46-year-old michael green, accused of executing two officers killed in cold blood. >> black male, orange shorts, was in the vehicle got out to make the shots and then jumped back in the vehicle and traveling eastbound. >> there is somebody out there shooting police officers. we hope we find him before anybody else gets hurt. >> reporter: according to police the ambush-style attacks occurred about 20 minute as part beginning at 1:06 a.m. the first officer shot sitting in his car on patrol alone. >> we have another officer hit over there. >> reporter: the second officer he was also found shot in his car. these shootings come as officers killed by guns in the line of duty is up dramatically this year by 48%. des moines police say, if you see green, do not approach. dial 911. robin? >> incredibly tragic. all right, pierre, thank you. now to the race for the white house just six days to go, and hillary clinton is calling

hike in the wake of the blast. >> this situation if not immediately alleviated could pose a real risk for gas price increases going into thanksgiving. >> reporter: the severed pipeline stretches from houston, texas, to new jersey. supplying gasoline to about 50 million people in 13 states, that's nearly half of the region's fuel. news of the explosion and subsequent shutdown triggering a state of emergency in alabama. >> it affects not only alabama but states all up and down the eastern seaboard. >> reporter: gas futures skyrocketing as much as 15% tuesday before easing off. just two months ago, a leak on that same pipeline led to days of dry prumps and price hikes in half a dozen states. 17 cents in tennessee and 28-sent hikes in georgia and the fear is this shutdown could be even worse. just how long and how severe the shortage is, well, that

repair that pipeline. officials are hoping it'll be done by saturday but, george, that's no sure thing. >> not at all. okay, phillip. thanks very much. the latest now on bill cosby heading back to court today as he tries to convince a judge to throw out those sexual assault charges, prevent his accusers from testifying. abc's linsey davis is here with more on the pretrial hearing. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, george. the biggest item on the docket of this now day two, is if testimony from 13 other accusers will be permitted pennsylvania law only allows such testimony if it demonstrates a pattern of behavior, but the defense says the testimony is old and irrelevant. another face-off this morning for the second day in a row as bill cosby heads back to court where his lawyers are fighting to keep potentially damning evidence out of his trial. the current case stems from an alleged assault back in 2004 with former temple university employee, andrea constand. prosecutors argue testimony from 13 of his more than 50 accusers is relevant to this case.

>> well, we know that one of the ways that our body tells itself it's time to go to sleep is there's a rise in a hormone called melatonin. but bright light and blue light can inhibit our body's release of that hormone, so there are things we can do. one is just dimming the lights but a couple of cool things. i've got these orange glasses and when i put those on, take a look, this is what it looks like, the environment changes. >> wow. >> okay, and what that does it allows her body to release more melatonin. so if you put those couple of hours before bed, small studies show it may make you sleepier. on our electronic devices, you can hit something on the app of the devices called night shift, and it turns your screen from blues to oranges. other devices you can download that as well. these are little things that you can do that may help you get a better night's sleep. turning off your electronics an hour before bed is a good thing too. >> do you do things like that? >> i do. well, the routine is supposed to
