were interviewing a group of students at desert bloom park -- when smyth came speeding towards them. if you look at this video -- you can see a young girl running to safety as the officer draws his gun. one of the officers reportedly said "i don''t think he''s going to stop." that's when they both opened fire. none of the students were hurt. inside the smyth's s-u-v police found a loaded gun, several knives -- and a sword. right now -- an n-y-p-d officer recovering after being injured in a shootout with a robbery suspect. the other officer was shot in the leg and is expected to recover. officers were responding to reports of a home invasion -- when they came across the suspect. he began shooting at the officers -- who returned fire -- killing the suspect. it's your voice, your vote in the race for the white house. a federal judge says there is no evidence the g-o-p is intimidating voters at the polls. democrts filed a lawsuit

investigators are now looking into the cause of the fire. we're now hearing from one of the survivors -- in that tragic double bus crash in maryland. the crash killed 6 people and injured several others. the woman says she usually takes the 4-30 bus to get to her job as a housekeepter at a medical center -- but she was running late tuesday morning. :26-:36 (michelle kennedy, bus crash survivor) "i was sitting on the right side, i was talking to someone and then next thing i know i woke up on was scared. and had to take me by my arm, lift me up to get me up." the woman is now recovering from a fractured jaw, stitches and bruises. she says all she wants now is to know why this crash happened. the school bus driver was not authorized to operate the bus at the time of the crash. authorities say he failed to
