the school's prinicpal sent out a voicemail alerting parents about what happened and saying police are still investigating. she also encouraged parents and students to report suspicious activity to school secret witness at 3-2-9 66-66. and reno police say they have arrested a woman in connection with a robbery at a convenience store in stead on sunday. police say around 2-30 in the morning... a woman demanded money from the clerk at the jacksons store on stead boulevard, showing the clerk a gun in her waistband. she left the scene in a silver 4-door passenger car. detectives say they located the vehicle in stead and detained the driver. she was identified as 18-year-old kassandra portillo. she admitted to the sunday robbery and was charged with robbery with a deadly weapon. the district attorney's office is warning people about a scam - involving someone claiming to be an actual d-a investigator... and requesting payments for fees

the d-a's ofice does not charge people for services related to court appearances... and does not call asking for money. looking around the world... at least 10 people have been killed and dozens of others injured when two trains collided head on in germany this morning. germany's transportation minister says the two the trains were on a curve and neither had time to break before the crash. they were traveling at speeds of up to 60 miles and hour. the track was fitted with a safety system designed to automatically stop trains to prevent such a crash and it's not clear why it didn't function. in health watch... as the zika virus outbreak continues, concerns are growing. president obama is asking congress for nearly two billion dollars to fight the zika virus. as john potter reports, officials warn it could spread here in the united states. the centers for disease control

years... and it's causing a price drop all around the world... and around the nation. on the low end-- we have parts of oklahoma... missouri... and indiana... between $1.22 and $1.26 on the higher end-- arizona... alaska... and california... between 2.99 and 3.14 a gallon. in case you're wondering-- nevada's average now is $2.18 a gallon. and that's great news... for local drivers. jorge: "it's actually made it pretty helpful-- saving me quite a bit of money now." jim: "a truck this size, that's about a $15 a tank difference, so it's a huge difference for me." at this gas station in carson city prices were well under two dollars a gallon today... you may notice prices are higher in washoe county... that is because of different taxes charged on gas. and federal officials predict that we could see prices below two dollars a gallon for all of 2016.
