professors at the campus of santa clara university. >> reporter: dozens of students ate free pizza while watching the speech. some case for extra credit, some came for a class. but most left with one key issue on the forefront. >> my fellow americans. >> reporter: about six students on laptops and smart phones watched the state of the union with a large screen shows tweets alongside the president. they handed out state of the union themed bingo sheets with words like budget, bipartisan and taxes to cross off. but there's one that gardeners support. >> the community college was a big one. >> definitely the college thing with us all being college, how expensive college is.

climate change and says he's excited to discuss the speech with his class here tomorrow. julie. >> did anyone say why they didn't stick around to watch the republican response? >> it was interesting. there was a lot of free pizza. as soon as the speech was over, everybody left. they were about to have a discussion but everybody left. that was pretty much the end of the event today. >> you will find the full text of his prepared speech. we have developing news from oakland tonight where two people inside a mini van were shot and killed. police say officers on patrol heard the shots about 5:30 this evening around tenth street near campbell in west oakland. the pastor of a near by church told us the victims were two young men who were inside van when they were shot and killed. police say one victim was pronounced dead at the scene. the other died a short time later at the hospital. no word yet about suspects or a possible motive. now to a story that's risen some concern in berkeley.

3:00 today. crews pinpointed the outage at a b.a.r.t. station but still no word on the nature of the equipment malfunction. >> a woman standing on a sidewalk in downtown santa rosa was killed today in a freak accident when an suv flipped over and landed right on top of her. it happened about 2:30 this afternoon at third and b streets right in front of the luther burbank savings bank. police say the ford explorer collided with a volvo station wagon then flipped over. the drivers of both cars were taken to santa rosa memorial hospital with minor injuries. the woman was standing at the corner at the time. authorities have not released her name. new information tonight about last night's protest by stanford students that stopped traffic on the san mateo bridge. prosecutors say at least 10 of the 68 protesters will face charges for creating a public nuisance and obstructing traffic. it's not clear yet whether the other 58 will face charges. authorities have also located at least one of the cars used

two weeks later, her other son was shot and killed while he was sitting at an intersection in a car. that's where both of their mothers spoke today. >> it was right here. lamar had just left from the house. just left from the house. >> when i came through here, i know somebody in these houses have seen something. but i can't blame them for not wanting to say nothing few safety reasons. >> reporter: investigators say they think they may know who did it but they still need more evidence. a $30,000 reward is being offered from crime stoppers. a vigil was held tonight for a young woman gunned down in east oakland with her boyfriend four days ago. as ktvu's john sasaki reports the victim had recently graduated from a san jose high school. >> reporter: more than 100 people came together at piedmont hills high school in san jose in the name of alexis randall. they gathered at the place she

graduated just last spring. two of randolph's close friends returned to help honor the homicide victim. >> through every darkness i went through, she was always there for me. she was my everything. through high school, through growing up. >> reporter: hours before the vigil they were creating signs and gathering balloons to help make their feelings clear. >> we definitely want to stop the violence. i feel too many people have been taken away from us due to violence. but we also wanted to bring everyone from school together just to celebrate alexis life. >> reporter: alexis and the man she was dating were shot to death just after noon last friday. alexis had moved to oakland to live with her grandfather last year and that's where she met livingston. >> she was way too young, taken too soon from us. this is not her lifestyle. this is not how she grew up. she was just graduated from this field last year. now we have a vigil,

yahoo. members of the group jobs gathered this afternoon inside the alameda county office meeting in oakland. members want more of the safety budget to provide job training, education and health care services. they say that would make communities safer by helping former inmates get their lives back on track. a quake on the san andres quake hit in san benito county about 164 miles. the quake hit around 10:30 this morning in a rural area about 17 miles northeast of king city. it was felt for many miles but no damage or injuries were reported. preventing violent crime by working with teenagers. why prevention programs are suddenly under fire. a warming trend in the works. meteorologist mark tamayo will tell us when temperatures will hit the 80s. >> a man with a mission arrives in the bay area. the message he's walked 700 miles to spread.

just beautiful. looking over the bay bridge in san francisco. in the clear right now. forecast headlines for tonight, this will be the big headline developing by the weekend with the temperatures really warming back up. you just heard about the king tide just for reference you can see the levels we had today at the golden gate bridge. coming down just very slightly for tomorrow. for thursday down to 6.5 feet. once again minor flooding near the coast and near parts of the bay with that high tide tomorrow for the golden gate. just about 11:46 as you can see. here's the fog forecast. the temperatures cooling down to the due point temperature. when that happens the fog forms especially in the north bay valley and east bay valleys. i think a few patches around san francisco bay itself first thing tomorrow morning. that could impact your visibility out there. but i think tomorrow will be the last day significant, at least some patchy fog in the forecast. here is a wider perspective on the satellite as you can see high clouds to the north. tomorrow not too much change

the dodge ridge ski resort is closing temporarily due to a lack of snow. it's the latest resort to close due to the weather. tahoe at donner and badger park are also closed for now. the resorts say as soon as they get more snow nay will be back open for business. here are a couple of maps from the national weather service showing the snow pack and the sierra a month ago. and then another map showing the coverage today. you can really see the difference there. just how much snow has melted in the past month. >> dramatically different. kind of depressing to look at that. mark is here now with better news. warriors did not play tonight but a lot of people are still talking. >> i think they've been the talk of the nba. believe it or not all the talk is not all that great. the warriors will probably be the first to admit it. best record of the nba for the season. doesn't mean a whole lot but 33- 6 that is an eye popper yet there are those who do not believe like charles barkley and houston rocket star james harden. listen to harden's little pep talk prior to the warriors
