investigation of vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident. police say drugs or alcohol or both were involved. the crash happened last night on colorado boulevard and involved four cars. police say white hit a prius which hit two other cars. the person in the prius died. police later found the suspect naked in a park nearby. he is not a resident, is here from tennessee trying to find other people also involved were injured as well. >> we will continue to follow that. on to the race, incumbent democrat michael bennett verses republican darrell glenn, a fight for the colorado u.s. senate seat and the candidates will be trying to sway your vote debating live on 9 news. our 9 news reporter nelson garcia joins us outside the colorado center where the debate will take place. this is the only time they'll

>> reporter: that's right, for voters across colorado this is their best chance to see and hear the candidates debate face to face. other debates were scheduled but each side declined for different reasons leaving this one to be the main battleground between bennett and glenn. over the past few months polls have shown bennett with a commanding lead. experts say this is essentially his race to lose. the former denver school superintendent has taken up affordability, supporting colorado's agriculture industry. glenn is lieutenant colonel in the air force out of colorado springs. this debate is perhaps his best chance to win voters away from bennett and cut into his lead according to polls. glenn generated excitement when he spoke at the republican national convention. he highlights the idea of freeing the future by supporting business owners and pushing for more secure borders. we talked about the issue of

unfair conviction. rodriguez was convicted of groping two teens in 2007 in aurora. a juror allegedly said that he did it because he is mexican and "mexican men take whatever they want." two other jurors told lawyers about the statement after the trial. the colorado supreme court and a lower court denied a request for a new trial. now u.s. supreme court is hearing arguments on the case today. their decision could have a broader impact on deciding whether conversations between in court. >> i know you have been following that. you covered it this morning. >> it's going to have a huge impact on a lot of other cases too. they gave customers replacement phones but the trouble just continued. >> i looked over and my phone is in flames, just spewing smoke. >> spewing smoke from a phone. samsung is throwing in the towel on the note 7 all

opinions. >> some of the opinions are not exactly accurate. ericka edwards has more. >> reporter: just under half of all americans got the flu vaccine last year. some doctors say common myths about the vaccine may be one reason why many choose not to get a flu shot. one of the most common, you can catch the flu from the vaccine. scientists say absolutely false. >> it will never give you the you can get muscle aches and fever after the flu shot but that just means it is working. it doesn't mean it is giving you the flu. >> if you get sick after a shot doctors say it is likely a different virus, not true influenza. >> the flu virus mutates every year. it's not the same virus this year that was there last year. you need a new shot every year to get protection.

think abou the shot or not. if you own one of the galaxy note 7 phones even if it's a new replacement one, please do not use it. the company is asking people with the original note 7 phones or replacements received after the recall to turn them off and exchange them. the problem is the new replacement note 7s are catching fire. no word on why this is happening. all major including verizon, att, sprint, t mobile will no longer sell the replacement note 7s. in the past week phones are exploded or caught fire. 1 million original notes were under recall in the u.s. samsung has not said how many replacement notes are out there. >> so the replacement phones are dangerous too. >> i can't imagine my cell phone exploding. we keep those so close to us. >> that's very scary.

that's what we love to hear. that's where organizations like she eo come into play. walk us through what you are doing here. >> absolutely. as you said only 4% of venture capital is going to women. part of the reason is 90% of the capital is contributed by men. for the most part they fund things they understand. we are trying to completely redesign how capita distributed to small businesses. 1000 women in each city contributing $1000 to create a $1 million pool of capital to fund ten small businesses in each of the cities. it is really hands on. >> that's amazing. you are in several cities. denver is one of the newest ones. >> absolutely. denver was the second u.s. market to launch. we are in los angeles and san francisco. >> great. what companies get the money?
