show how our company is giving back to the community. make a difference day is an initiative to encourage volunteers. we hope folks follow along and are able to do something for their community and make it a great place to live in. let's get to the forecast. if you are volunteering today it is going to be a toasty one. our temperatures today will be two degrees shy from the record high that was set back in 2003. we'll be normal high. you can guess with that warm, dry and breezy weather we are expecting, we'll have high fire danger and a red flag warning will go into effect for colorado, southern wyoming and nebraska. check out the winds close to the foothills. we had gusts up to 50 miles per hour in berthoud pass. let's talk about the temperatures. this morning we have 40s and 30s on the map.

who still can't go home. the fire is 33% contained. so far five homes and 13 outbuildings have been destroyed. fire investigators blame a power line blown down by high winds. prosecutors in colorado say a child is responsibler for setting colorado's largest wildfire this season. the beaver creek fire consumed 38,000 acres of land. the suspect is a minor. they di set the fire. only they are continuing to finalize reports. beaver creek fire destroyed one home and a dozen structures as it spread into wyoming. it is still smoldering now. this fire proved to be difficult to fight with beatle kill timber fueling the flames. u.s. forest service hopes the beaver creek fire will help firefighters plan for wildfires in forests ravished by insects. jefferson county deputies

the men robbed the store on west drive. a witness tried to follow the suspects. that's when one of the men shot at the witness. deputies arrested the guy on the right. the guy on the left is wanted for attempted homicide. if you know who that is call crimestoppers. the mother of a disabled girl said she is scared and having sleepless nights after shys assaulted by a nurse. she wants to warn people. we want to warn you this video may be hard to watch. it shows her rough handling the 10-year-old while on the change table. then this happened. she has a rare condition that causes her cognitive ability to be six months old. her nursing license has been

the mother said that's not enough. >> i think that she should never, ever, ever be able to work with people in any type of setting. i think her license should be revoked permanently. >> colorado is one of the 14 states that does not require nurses to get background checks. the colorado nurse's association said it is exploring enhancing license process checks. the nurse declined to speak to 9news. she is scheduled to be in court on monday. eat members of a violent bloods gang were federally charged in colorado friday thanks to a law used for the first time in our state. violent crimes law could be what prosecutors need to put violent gang members in prison. law combines the practice going

they monitor cell phones and social media exploitation. the gang members are facing conspiracy to commit different murders, one attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. some of the suspects will face a minimum of 7 to ten years in prison. websites are back up and running this morning after hack attacks caused chaos on the web. waves of outages spread through the countr are searching for who is behind the tax. they breeched twittedder, netflix, amazon and paypal on friday. this come after a breach of a company called den. it affected half a million of every day devices. >> every thing is sending a script to that one address, to

this morning we are talking about breaking barriers that often divide us. a student at georgetown university extended the hand of friendship to one of the many workers who keep that school running. the simple act started a moving that inspired >> reporter: at georgetown jesuit university learning is rooted in caring, devon is taking it to heart. >> i see the same worker. his name is o'neil bachelor. i struck up a conference with him. i said how are you doing? and shook his hand. >> reporter: it happened at night while she was studying in the library. o'neil was cleaning up. they discovered they have a lot in common. both are immigrants and both

restaurant. i love cooking. i explain that. he supported it. he said i'm going to do everything i can to help you. >> reporter: and he did. he started a facebook page called unsung heroes telling the stories of the workers who keep the university running. >> i know there is a wall between the students and other people at times. i wanted to share his story with other students to see they are human beings like us. the only difference is the color of their uniform. >> reporter: students respon chance to make new friends and even make an impact. they recently helped raise $2500 for o'neil to jump-start his catering business. >> he was on a cloud. >> reporter: so far unsung heroes has profiled 20 campus workers like alberto a dining hall cashier. students raised $5,000 for him

winds. prosecutors in colorado say a child is responsibler for setting colorado's largest wildfire this season. the beaver creek fire consumed 38,000 acres of land. the suspect is a minor. they did not say how the child set the fire. only they are continuing to finalize reports. beaver creek fire destroyed one home and a dozen structures as it spread into wyoming. it is still smoldering now. this fire proved to be difficult to fight with beatle kill timber fueling the flames. u.s. forest service hopes the beaver creek fire will help firefighters plan for wildfires in forests ravished by insects. jefferson county deputies caught two men accused of stealing from a liquor store. the men robbed the store on west drive. a witness tried to follow the suspects. that's when one of the men shot
