all we have our prayers. it's strong. you know, we still have a chance. >> pipeline protests spread beyond north dakota. why some are calling for u.n. troops to get involved. the battle against breast cancer moves out of the doctor's office and into the gym. 9news starts now. >> denver police put out a call tonight for help tracking down a hit-and-run driver. the medina alert worked. police say they found the honda ac this afternoon. it happened on eastbound 6 avenue. one person went to the hospital and the driver tried to get away. police found the car in lakewood and are questioning several people in relation to the case. the medina alert program sends note facial -- notifications to people to be on a hit-and-run

the evidence is the grass fire and we're learning more about how it sparked. it was from a mal function on an electric power pole. more than 800 people had to evacuate yesterday as the fire moved closer to homes. firefighters got that fire 100% contained within a few hours. everyone has since returned home. crews stayed through the night to watch for hot spots. conditions are so dry hot spot could rekindle a really big fire. more on this warm, dry weather. it's not over yet. >> it isn't. once again as we look towards the end of october hoping for a storm around the corner, unfortunately we really aren't going to see very many that will bring rain and snow to much of the state. it has been extremely dry. so much so that we've only had about a quarter of an inch of rain so far for this month. typically as we are winding things down, we should be

things off still into the 50s though. 40s in the foothills. a little cooler in our mountain communities. the winds picked up as a cool front pushed through the area. right now they are calming down just a bit. only to pick back up again by tomorrow. another system will start to push in. high wind watch is in place across our neighboring states and i anticipate within the next 24 hours we could poe textually see a -- potentially see a high wind watch for parts of the foothills and mountains because the winds will be ruthlessda i'll show you how windy i think it will get. of course, all eyes on monday, halloween. it's almost here. we are talking about that trick- or-treating forecast and a look toward november in just a few. >> i have to know if i need to cover up my costume. i don't want to cover it up with a coat. >> you will be in luck, my friend. >> thanks, danielle. >> the deadline is fast approaching for rtd to fix the problems with the a-line. they have a week to solve the issues with mal functioning safety equipment.

the deadline. our business journal report rtd officials flew to washington, dc to talk to regulators about the issues. the a-line has had problems with gate crossings mal functioning, operators have had to stay at the crossings around the clock watching for issues. if rtd misses the deadline, it might have to stop the trains to the plane and offer bus service while they work on the problems. >> several big, stolen guns are in the hands of criminals tonight. no one even had to inside a store to take them taken overnight from the pony express firearms store on south park road. investigators say someone broke out a window and grabbed the guns through metal bars. because they didn't go inside the store owner friends say surveillance cameras didn't show much of anything. >> the videos show the glass being fragmented and then one rifle disappears off the wall and then two at the same time disappear and then a fourth

it was like this much. >> two ak rifles, an ar rifle and a shotgun are now missing and police are working to get the serial numbers for those guns. officers also want to know why the store left the guns on display so close to the window. >> the clock is ticking on your final days to make a pick for president. more than half a million coloradans have already voted. as of friday, more than 697,000 ballots had been returned. that's about 23% of voters. a lot has happened on the campaign trail since ballots first went out. some voters are wondering if it's too late to change their minds. we spoke with the denver elections division about voters remaining options. >> voters already cast their colorado ballot, it's too late. if someone still has their ballot, all they have to do is request a replacement. there's a key deadline to remember on that. if you want a ballot mailed to you as a replacement ballot or

you have to do that no later than halloween night. after that you have to go to a polling service or center. >> you have until monday toregister on-line. you can register in person at a polling place through election day. if you are mailing a ballot, the post office recommends sending it no later this tuesday. bipartisan teams are checking each vote to avoid voter to hold on to some of the voters. he made his first stop for the weekend in golden this afternoon. some collection experts are calling jefferson county a key swing county for colorado. trump urged voters to turn in their ballots. >> it's something so important to talk about. you've got to get those ballots in. you have to go and you have to send those ballots in. >> he really stressed that point. trump will make a stop in greeley tomorrow. today, he also addressed hillary clinton's latest e-mail

policize the fbi's investigation. >> this is the biggest political scandal since watergate and it's everybody's deepest hope that justice at last can be properly delivered. >> meantime, milliary clinton spent the day in the -- hillary clinton spent the day in the key swing state of florida. she wants the st the investigation same up so close to election day. >> it's pretty strange to put something like that out with such little information right before an election. in fact, it's not just strange, it's unprecedented and it is deeply troubling. >> attorney general loretta lynch does not approve of the investigation. she says federal authorities should not interfere with the election. many things are still unknown what's in those e-mails.

engineers. there are no plans to evic protesters there -- evict protesters there. dozens of protests demonstrated outside the north dakota capital. hundreds of protesters gathered outside the minneapolis city hall. they were protesting the local sheriff decision to send deputies to help law enforcement in north dakota. about 30 deputies went from minnesota to north dakota. a group of protesters is camping on a farm in iowa to support the protesters in north dakota too. work on the pipeline is the project costs nearly $4 billion and also goes through south dakota and illinois. nasa astronaut reubens is on her way back to earth. she and two other crew members spent the last 155 days at the international space station. rubens is a flight engineer. today, she and the two other crew members gave those zero gravity hugs and said good-bye. they left the station this

inside of that diagnosis i think is very important mentally as well as physically. >> i'm regina brown. i'm a medical oncologist at the uc health lone tree breast center and i am a breast cancer survivor. sympathy wasn't enough. i have to empathize with my patients as well. we know the benefits of exercise and preventing recurrence and people who have experienced cancer and hopefully preventing cancer in those who have never had cancer be. >> things go pretty fast once the process gets started whether it's surgery first or treatment first with chemotherapy. >> yeah. >> we're able to see on a daily basis the benefits of exercise. exercise can actually prevent recurrence or prevent cancer from coming back and most importtly fo or those people out there who have never experienced a cancer diagnosis, exercise can hopefully prevent them from ever having to experience it.

it's just they feel like they can't do it anymore. so, to be able to look them in the eye and say i know what you feel, i know what's going through your head, but you can look at me and see you can get through this and you will get through this. >> ok. that is a good workout and for a great cause. doctor brown kept us a consistent exercise routine through her cancer treatment. she hopes exercise programs will become a standard part of treatment in the future. i can tell yo because i do that workout and i've gone to that particular gym before. >> you workout like those ladies there? >> so fun and it really does make you feel so good. >> yeah, you get the endorphins. >> you try it now the -- >> i'm a little nervous. >> real hard. i'm like a yoga girl. >> yoga is -- >> yoga is hard though. that's one thing that i definitely i don't think i can do it. >> my body made noises when i

extremely comfortable in the 60s in eagle, low 70s forrifle, out toward the west towards grand junction and into rango too. nice-looking evening for a lot of folks. maybe you are still grilling outside for dinner. we are looking at nicer weather tomorrow too. this evening, quiet. 51 degrees. mostly clear skies at the airport. you can see a good chunk of themidsection of the country has been dry. quick storm system pushing throughout parts of minnesota as well as wisconsin and another one rolling little rain. some snowfall along the higher peaks up there. for us, nothing. we just have nothing to talk about as far as the precipitation goes. tonight, will be a little bit cooler. a lot of folks falling into the 40s overnight. 30s in craig and telluride and alamosa. tonight in town, a little patchy fog will start to develop after midnight coming in from the northeast. we could potentially be waking up to that around 7:00 tomorrow morning. i'll show you in the future

10:00 hour it is oozing in from nebraska along i-76. it sneaks it towards die, downtown denver, potentially could surge a little further to our southern suburbs. i think you are in the clear if you live south towards castlerock, highlands ranch. by the afternoon we'll look for partly cloudy skies. 2:00, 3:00 p.m. broncos are getting started out there and i think we are going to have a fantastic-looking forecast. whether you tailgating, it should be nice. partly cloudy skies through the evening. tomorrow night about 10:00 p.m. mostly cloudy skies. we had the front that pushed through today that knocked down our temperatures ever so lightly -- slightly. a stronger storm system to our west making its way to our backyard. unfortunately the rain and snowfall you see, that stays further up to the north. the storm track is staying to the north. the winds associated with that front will be making their way here into colorado. i'll show you with this.

afternoon 4:00, 5:00, they are peaking between 10-15 miles per hour around metro area. a little stronger towardsest yes, sir park and allen -- estes park and tomorrow morning 60-mile-per-hour gusts coming from the west into the mountains and foothills and i would not be surprised if we see a high wind warning or watch go into place for tomorrow. it will be a gusty one. once we get rid plenty of sunshine. 70s for most of eastern colorado. still extremely comfortable for this time of the year. again, broncos taking on the chargers as they head out there for kickoff low 70s. it should be good right there about halftime mid-70s. a really nice-looking forecast if you like the sunshine. as we head towards the first of november, we still are in the 70s. we'll haveslight, little cool off coming our way by wednesday and into thursday and

first weekend of november. we just can't shake this weather pattern. it's been bizarre. >> i know. it really has. it does not feel like it's almost the first of november. >> at all. >> oh, man, ok. soon enough, it will be here. the snow will smack us in the face and we'll be wishing for warm weather. >> ruthlessly, i'm sure. >> thank you. part of the old bay bridge in san francisco bay is gone. the california department of transportation demolished the support pier today 12,000 pounds of explosives and lasted less than four seconds ptd eastern part of the bay -- seconds. the eastern part of the bay bridge was replaced three years ago, but the support pier was still there. >> bob dylan is finally answering the questions where is he after winning nobel prize for literature. he didn't respond to the honor a couple of weeks and the academy members had trouble getting ahold of him. he even confirmed he would accept the world.
