movie crews filming "bourne five" have been taking over las vegas boulevard.... and local businesses say the short term inconvenience is worth the long term economic gain. we start with breaking news tonight... one person is dead and two others injured after a crash in the northern part of the valley. i'm christine maddela i'm john huck. and police are asking drivers to avoid the area.... you are looking live at the scene--- police say just before eight this evening ... two cars collided at lamb and craig. one person died... and two others were sent to the hospital. the intersection of craig and lamb is closed to all traffic at this time. a woman was found murdered inside a north las vegas home. police say other people were there when it happened... and they were able to arrest the

year in north las vegas. the man accused of pointing a gun at people on the strip has been identified. police tell us his name is khaleal black. investigators needed help identifying him over the weekend. officers arrested black friday night... after police say he aimed a firearm at people near the bellagio fountains. officer george smith confronted black. police say black didn't obey officer smith's commands... and the officer fired his gun, but missed black. instead, one bullet grazed a child in the leg... another bullet went through a man's clothing... but he was not hurt. doctors at university medical center treated and released the child. a witness says she's glad no one was killed. "anything could happen at any time any moment any second he's just one out of thousands. i thank god we got one guy off the street starting trouble. that's always a good thing." black was arrested for

police say he's known for selling goods to tourists. a clark county high school teacher is accused of a sex act with a student... according to the clark county justice court website the valley high school teacher- was taken into custody last week for having sex with a student. jillian lafave was taken in on january 15th. according to the school district and lafave's attorney, warren geller, lafave has been suspended without pay. a former pastor convicted of sexually abusing teenage girls... was back in court today... this time in henderson. otis holland was found guilty just last week at the regional justice center. he was arrested in december 2010 on charges related to sexually assaulting girls and women. now he is going through proceedings again... this time for another accuser less than 16 years old. a preliminary hearing is set for february 9th.

injured after being hit by a car. police say the pedestrian was struck around 4- 30 this morning on edna avenue -- near desert inn and jones. he was taken to the hospital... and expected to survive. police say the driver does not appear to be impaired. edna was closed for almost three hours while police officers were on scene. another pedestrian was hurt in a hit-and- run crash on the strip. it happened before noon on las vegas boulevard in front of the m-g-m grand. the pedestrian was taken to u-m- c. police have not released their condition. the driver took off before officers got there. the crash caused some traffic delays in the area. the scene was cleared about an hour later. after months of complaining to authorities and feeling ignored a northwest valley neighborhood finally saw action taken against some of the squatters taking over their neighborhood fox5's miguel martinez-valle was there for the raid, he has the details its a situation theyve been dealing with for months. people

" continuous traffic, in and out, its obvious they're peddling drugs." police say their hands were tied until the homeowner stepped forward as a victim. once they did, they were finally able to take action... "we found some illegal weapons in there, we found evidence of illegal drug use, and were investigating now what we believe was a fraud lab." two of the four

" they had a significant criminal history where we had to have a tactical team serve the warrant to make it safe for us to get inside." neighbors say while they're happy this house was evicted, their squatter problem isn't over yet... "we believe there's a couple of other squatter houses in this neighborhood and we'd like them gone." police say the biggest obsticle they have with squatters is many times the original homeowner has walked away from their house, and the bank hasnt taken over yet... they say they cant act on a crime if there is no victim. metro says that a new law which went into effect last october helps them act quicker against squatters. before the law squatting was taken care of in civil court, the issue is now addressed criminally.

vow to fight against sexual assault and dating violence on campus. it's part of a nationwide initiative called "green dot". unlv's jean nidetch women's center will offer bystander intervention training. it teaches students how to help victims of sexual assault... dating violence... bullying... and stalking. students sign and place their "green dot" pledge on a red dot display to signify they'll step in to end campus violence. unlv president len jessup was the first to commit. "we don't want any employees students or visitors to feel anyway there threatened or potential to feel bullied. we want people to feel comfortable in environment its very important." show their different displays week. the first training next friday. program organizers say "green dot" has reduced violence at other colleges across the country. faraday future is starting to clear land for its electric car factory in north las vegas. the company

the solar battle in the valley continues. while some want the public utilities commission to reconsider net metering rates altogether - there is movement now in restoring the old rates for those who already have solar. fox 5's cyndi lundeberg explains the latest twist on the solar debate. old girlfriend several times... and then called police to explain what happened. they arrived to the home on ferguson.. near civic center and evans where they found the injured woman .. and she was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. detectives say there were several people inside when it happened including children. no one else was hurt. we spoke to a woman whos family has lived right next door to the same neighbors for about 25 years.. they didn't know each other well but she says they've never witnessed any violence. vickie you never know what happens. it's shocking to be right next door and they're so quiet. the mom is really nice like i said i dont know her name she's really nice. and jackie he got on my nerves but he was a nice kid. there were people in front of the home this afternoon when we arrived... but they didn't want to identify their relationship with the family or talk with us about the victim or what happened.

a judge cancels a scheduled community meeting over the rancher standoff at an oregon wildlife refuge over safety concerns. authorities had become aware of plans to protest the meeting and block the entrance to the county senior center, where it was to be held... so the judge canceled the forum. an armed group led by ammon bundy has been occupying the malheur national wildlife refuge since january second to protest federal land use policies. the citadel military college is suspending 14 cadets for appearing in a viral picture wearing pillowcases on their heads. the picture bearing a striking resemblance to k-k-k members. "what disappoints me is when several of the people, both the younger folks and the older cadets, realized the way it might be perceived, nobody took any action, and it continued and they said let's just sing these songs and get through it and we'll get back to studying. " the picture was posted back in december-- the cadets claim they were trying to dress as ghosts of christmas past.

a dog owner in alabama let her hound dog out to use the bathroom... but the pup clearly -- thought he needed get some exercise. she saw people running by the home... and decided to join them. the 2 and half year old hound... named ludivine-- accidentially ended up running a half marathon.... ludivine's owner didn't know the pup was missing-- until friends who were race volunteers
